Around 100 new sets, including City, Friends, Ninjago, Monkie Kid, 10297 Boutique Hotel, 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog, 31129 Majestic Tiger, 42130 BMW M 1000 RR, series 22 collectable minifigures and 80109 Lunar New Year Ice Festival, are now available at LEGO.com in all regions.

Unfortunately the gifts with purchase are not particularly enticing: 30588 Kids' Playground is free with qualifying City purchases, and 30416 Market Stall with qualifying Friends purchases.

Sad to see there are no real good promos, wanted to get the Ice Festival with a good promo but its neither City or Friends.

Just got to hope StudentBeans, Daily Mail, VoucherCodes or The Times have some voucher freebies like they had before Christmas.

Very much hoping we start to see reviews of 80035 Monkie Kid's Galactic Explorer soon! Since that seems to have been the one set from the theme that didn't get sent out as review copies, there's still a lot I don't know about that set—including what sort of displays/equipment are on the port side of the crew compartment.

January 1st is still a day away in my time zone, and even when it rolls over I'm having second thoughts about making a physical Lego store trip when COVID is surging in the area closest to my local store. So I might have to make an online order and still wait a while for the new sets to arrive.

By in United Kingdom,

Hmm, shame about the lack of promos tomorrow - think I’ll just grab Sonic and a few CMFs, then save the rest of my wanted sets for whenever the freebies are a bit better!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’ll get Sonic as soon as I get some cash to spare!

By in United Kingdom,

Well the latest unconfirmed rumour is that we will not be getting the monthly store calendars from 1.1.2022 so no ideas as to when GWP will be coming each month.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone know about the Hotel gift with purchase?

Gravatar
By in United States,

My parents overheard me talking about the awesome Creator tiger set, and I received a "coupon" for it for my birthday, I can't wait!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Don't know why the Brickset website says the 75320 Snowtrooper Battle Pack is not released yet. I bought one today at Walmart and there were two more.

Gravatar
By in United States,

No Modular 15th anniversary GWP set to go with the hotel then? If not, the Boutique Hotel gets easily slotted as a two years from now purchase rather than a day 1 purchase. I’ll probably skip on any Lego purchases unless it’s a good GWP, it’s double VIP, or a set is retiring soon.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Any idea when the year of the Tiger small set will be out, could it be a gift with purchase again?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, did not realize the Majestic Tiger would be that cost. That's not a real kick in the... No, wait, that will not tear you a new...

It's reasonable, and what a conversation starter! Definitely one of the funniest reviews / comment sections ever.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Majestic Tiger was available for purchase at one of our lead department stores before Christmas (remember seeing it on display on Dec 19th as I was mentioning the anatomical accuracy of the set to my wife), and at the time I didn’t think it was supposed to be out until Jan 1st. I guess a bunch of Kiwi LEGO fans got a Christmas present a week earlier than they should have.

I plan to be at the Lego store tomorrow when it opens, specifically for 80035! And other things; I haven't decided which yet. I'll review it and post pictures over on the Forum as soon as it's built- which WILL be tomorrow!

By in United States,

The promos are really cute! They are both on my Wanted list. What they aren't is very large so hopefully when the US gets the promo it won't cost that much to actually get them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Ice Festival won't be available in the US until the 10th :'(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just sonic and a bricks and pieces order

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Dang, I want that playground, but I'm unsure about the jan 1st City sets =(

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I was ready to drop some serious coin on 01 Jan, but with no decent GWP, I will just wait for at least double VIP and GWP or the inevitable Amazon 20-30% off sale.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I love those two polybags, though. It's actually quite tempting.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

40 minutes into January 1st and not available in The Netherlands. :D

Happy new year everybody!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I spotted several Jan1 sets stocked to shelves on Dec30 at a local Meijer, Target, and two Wal-Marts. Tried buying the Tentacle Battle Pack at all three locations where I spotted it. Got street-dated at Meijer and Target (system asked a cashier to confiscate the sets at the register), but Walmart let it through. A few weeks ago I even got street-dated for the Classic Spacemen puzzle at Target (where it’s a flash-in-a-pan exclusive that you’ve all probably missed out on if you don’t already own a copy).

By in United Kingdom,

Those in the UK, prices of a number of sets have changed, either increased or decreased. Example, the Imperial Star Destroyer is now £615, while the Millenium Falcon is now £700; bother were originally £650.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think it's lame when they restrict GWPs to just one theme, I actually wouldn't mind either of those polybags (though neither are particularly special) but I have no plans to buy city or friends sets.

Last time I bought from a lego shop I got 4 GWPs (Santa build, Hermione's desk, gift tags (okay they were just card but still) and a tile printed with the local shops' city) I guess that was just very good luck.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Something I’ve noticed, is that at least in the UK, prices for some sets have risen? Assembly Square has gone to about £230 from £180 iirc, the buildable Yoda figure’s up to £105, and even some sets from 2021 have risen, the latest Ninjago season’s temple set was around £100, even though if you bought it an hour ago it’d have been £90. Not annoyed, just confused…

They did announce price rises I thought?

@Huw can you please ask LEGO clarification regarding their store calendar - whether it has been discontinued, and what, if anything, is planned to replace it?

Wow. I just had to go see for myself. £230!!!!! Unbelievable. Still ‘only’ £180 at Smyths and John Lewis though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

UK prices have changed on over a 100 sets, some going down and others going up with two going for £50 more (Assembly Square and Millennium Falcon UCS)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Corkscrew_Brik36:
Video games, DVDs and CDs have very strict street dates, so they can load up the stores in advance and penalize anyone who gets busted for selling early (at levels of $1000+ _per_copy_sold_, the fines levied are pretty effective at discouraging anyone from jumping the gun to get a market advantage). Toys generally do not. If you think back to when the Clone Wars LEGO sets (including the Twilight) came out, those were actually bundled up with products from several different licensees that were subject to a street date imposed, and enforced, by Lucasfilm, but otherwise you don’t generally hear of the practice in the toy market. Consequently, stores typically stock whatever they receive, as it arrives.

LEGO Brand Retail, and the LEGOLAND park system are two notable exceptions, being that The LEGO Group holds their leashes, but major retail chains are too important to their business model to risk being kicked out of the toy aisle altogether over street date violations. In the past, Wal-Mart and especially TRU used to be reliable sources of Jan1 releases as early as mid-December the year before, as they shoved everything they had onto shelves during the holiday shopping season. For a few years starting in 2014 (following the release of The LEGO Movie, and the surge in sales that resulted), LEGO Brand Retail even cleared a slate of Jan1 sets that LEGO Stores were allowed to stock and sell in December, just to avoid having bare shelves greet customers who stopped in (I just hit my local store, and even spreading sets out to fill several shelves each, a lot of filler boxes had to be used to take up space prior to their Jan1 reset).

But Wal-Mart is still ignoring street dates, while it’s surprising that Meijer and Target aren’t. It’s also weird that I didn’t see a single 2022 set on shelves before Christmas. Dec30 might be the latest “first sighting” I’ve had.

By in United Kingdom,

Ordered
Sunflowers as they'll probably go out of stock for as long as the roses did.
4 new Stuntz and Lion Dance Guy Brickheadz as they don't tend to get reduced much.
Magestic Tiger... just had to!

A few Technic sets can wait for Amazon reductions.

Boutique Hotel can wait for a more interesting GWP.

By in Netherlands,

Prices in Netherlands (and perhaps Belgium and other countries) actually went down in many cases to match Germany prices.

21325 : Medieval Blacksmith somehow was €170 here, and now went back to €150 (-€20)

75192 UCS Falcon was €850 in NL from 2017, but now is down to €800. (-€50)

Many other sets like for example the Creator 3-in-1 theme went down by €5-10 to match Germany prices, however 31109 : Pirate Ship went up to €120. (+ €20)

Other price increases found so far:

10255 : Assembly Square went up to €260 in Germany from €240. (was already €260 in NL) (+€20)

Overall this seems to match the earlier reports of more matching prices in Western Europe, now that people above are reporting price increases in UK on assembly square (£+50 to £230) / Falcon (£+50 to £700) and others, and I see the 31109 : Pirate Ship is also now £ 105, from £ 90. which matches the current €100 to €120 price increase.

By in Australia,

Hmm, the Series 22 CMF aren't out until Feb 1st on the AU store.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I got VIP vouchers during Black Friday sale hoping to buy a set to get the December Xmas GWP, but that got cancelled. So now I have to use my VIP vouchers this month and there is only crud GWPs.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A few sets delayed in Australia. Sunflowers, CMFs. Sonic not arrived yet in physical stores.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Maybe the online stock will update at midnight, but in the US, the selection of Star Wars sets is VERY limited. Almost everything is out of stock. Kind of disappointing as I was thinking of ordering a nice sized set along with the new Clone Trooper accessory pack.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Guessing (hoping) that supply chain woes have kiboshed expected GWPs, along with inventory: out of 1380 items listed on the site, 974 are out of stock, 23 are back ordered and only 289 are available pre-midnight in the USA. 109 are coming soon, but some of those aren't even due out the 1st.
For the GWPs: City only has 3 existing sets in stock, with 22 coming online at midnight. Friends is even worse, with ZERO existing sets in stock and only 8 sets coming live on 01 Jan.
Hard to run a business when your shelves are 72% and the balance is heavy with sets that haven't sold well at all, pieces of furniture, and expensive corporate kits. :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Seems like I can no longer check whether a particular set is available at Lego store.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Thank you Brickset for putting Australia & New Zealand first! Shame we don't get more acknowledgement from Lego themselves... The new Lego Store GWP will not be available in Australia, which is very typical of GWPs.

We will also have to wait until March or April until the new sets actually show up in stores.

I will never understand why Lego Gift With Purchases and intelligent, honest politicians are both an extreme rarity in Australia... :(

I was happily on the site waiting to order, then when I refreshed the page at midnight, it kicked me off and dumped me in a waiting room. Anyone else?

I’m not able to order defense of hoth or clone trooper command station. It still says coming soon on January 1st. Anyone else getting this?

Same in Canada.

Gravatar
By in United States,

And of course only half of the Star Wars line is available. Accessory packs and Ahsoka Brickheadz both says “coming soon on January 1st, 2022”

Gravatar
By in United States,

It was fairly easy to order the Monkie Kid City of Lanterns! Now to stand in line tomorrow morning for the Modular Hotel!

Gravatar

Hmm... it is past midnight EST and some of the sets coming Jan 1st are not available for purchase (Sunflowers, Lion Dance Guy) anyone know why this would be?

Was able to snag Sonic the Hedgehog a bit after midnight. Happy New Year, everyone!

40518 High-Speed Train went from “coming soon on January 1st, 2022” to just "coming soon". Yay... continued supply chain issues. TLG obviously knew about it but still opts to delay updates.

for west coast.u.s... are sets out yet some are others are not.
I'd hate just buy 1.. also hope'ing doesn't sell out before other sets appear

Same here for me too! I've been refreshing the page over and over the past hour! I've checked other nations across the ocean, and many of them say they are sold out. So they at least went up for sale elsewhere and sold REALLY fast.

Are you putting them in the good spot? I also tried them and had issues at first, but it's not at the first point where you need a code, it's later during checkout.

The new modular hotel is still available to buy online this morning. Didn't sell out overnight. Is that because there was no GWP to entice people into buying it on day 1? That is the case with me. I will buy it, just not yet. I currently have other sets to build and with no good GWP, there was no rush.

Same, in Poland I will be able to buy it easily for 75-80% of retail price once it hits wider distribution. If there was a half-decent GWP, I'd have bought it already. All I got was Singapore (because I had a still-working code for the Earhart vignette).

By in United States,

I just purchased the Boutique Hotel and some minifigures. I was also able to use my points to get another camera. I already have one as that was the limit, but much to my surprise, the button was not shaded this morning, so I used my 2000 points to get another camera. You can still only get 1 but, I'll take it. Just wanted to pass this on if anyone else wanted an extra camera. Happy shopping.

As of 12 noon Eastern time USA, some new sets now say “coming soon on January 10, 2022”. What the heck?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was considering a £300 spend today on new sets. I assumed there would be a GWP. I didn’t buy anything in the sale because there was absolutely nothing worth having.

I do seriously hope this is not the beginning of the end of GWP. Without them there’s really no reason to buy at Lego. What a shame.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well, Sunflowers sold out as expected.... I wonder if they'll be back any time this year!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Phoenixio Yep, I was trying to redeem one of two physical promo codes I had, but the site wouldn't accept them. I had to place another order in the morning when it was working.

I went to the Lego Store near my house in Maryland USA this morning and they had many new sets, but no Monkie Kid whatsoever or the new Star Wars accessory packs. I entered the store maybe 30 minutes after opening and there was only 1 Ninjago "megazord/Voltron"-eqsue set left (always great to see Ninjago selling well). It was sad to see many "sold out" signs up on the shelves...

Same here. That's the main thing I was going to buy. Kind of disappointing; but on many countries in Europe, their lego.com pages say that the accessory packs are sold out. So out there they must have been for sale at least for a little bit.

Up in London for new year,

so went to Leicester Square store and bought a few new city sets, but was then told they hadn’t had their delivery of 30588 Kids' Playground polybags

:(

Gravatar
By in Australia,

What is going on with Lego's communication? Things are coming soon with no dates, or coming soon in a few weeks to a month after we said they would be released and I'm still sour on the fact that the 501st has been temporarily out of stock in Australia for nearly 12 months. What are they doing?

Gravatar

Has anyone in the UK had anything ordered on 1st of January delivered yet? My parcel seems to have been stuck for over a week now showing 'Order information has been transmitted to DPD' and nothing since.
