Do we know the reason yet for why these were delayed? Any comments from @lego group

Might as well just assume "supply chain issues."

What a joke the Lego shop at home has been lately. Out of everything I wanted for months. Read this article, go to order my kid a couple clone packs he's been asking after...already on backorder! After an hour...how many did they have available? Whatever excuses you want to throw out there, this is unacceptable.

Lego released these at around 10 A.M. EST yesterday the 18th. They were available for about 5-6 hours and then went on backorder. You just had to be one of the lucky ones to see the news in the first few hours. Brickset was a little slow with the news, most other Lego sites I follow posted this yesterday when they were available.

Ok... doesn't change my opinion at all ...shouldn't have to be lucky or monitor multiple Lego newsfeeds 24/7 to get a kid some minifigures.

By in United States,

haha and the clones are on backorder already. i'm guessing this is supply chain issues still.

By in United States,

also they have a 6 pack of CMF's, are they guaranteed to be different ones or anything?

By in United Kingdom,

The clones are out of stock in the UK too.

I was lucky and was in Manchester Day 2 of release. I went to the LEGO Discovery Centre shop and they had tons of the clone blister packs sitting on rails. Picked one up, but didn't gauge the stock issues. Should've picked up more...

I get your frustration, but I'm not at all surprised. Myself and several other collectors I know bought the max 5 yesterday morning(I'm sure thousands of others did the same thing). Lego is a kids toy, but it is also a collector's item. Between it being a collectors item and the supply chain shortages everywhere, it doesn't surprise me that it went on backorder so quickly. Not to mention this is one of the best army builders Lego has made in 10+ years.

The year is 2022. The answer is "supply chain issues". The question hasn't been delivered yet.

I just received a Christmas card from my cousin in Los Angeles. It took a month and three days to get here over a distance that would take me approx. 20 hours to drive straight up the I5.

I think many of us in 'rich' countries have gotten used to everything 'working'. The new normal for the foreseeable future will be delays, cancellations, closures, late arrivals, empty shelves and so on. It's important to remember though, it can get SO SO much worse, so while we need to get the system working better, we should be thankful that there is still food on shelves, let alone toys.

Ok, off my soapbox...

By in Australia,

40558 and 40557 still coming in soon in Australia with the 501st Battle Back still temporarily out of stock for the last 12 months, and every YT video shows them sitting on shelves at a discount in other countries.

At this point I would say that Lego's communication has failed in every single way possible. I love their products and I like their company, but their communication skills are lower than the belly of a snake.
