I didn't know worms had shells!
;-)
@Murdoch17:
They don’t. But shells can have worms.

wow... You learn something new every day!
Where's the worm? I don't see it!
Oh of course, it's just really small, that's gotta be it.
@GSR_MataNui: The "worm" in the title refers to the spiral design inside the piece which pushes pieces out of the drum when you turn it. If you look at the instructions for set 60325< which is the only set so far to have this piece, there's a good view of the inside on page 64.
I prefer my shells without worms.
But it’s cool this part has a worm drive in it. Rather reminds me of Archimedes and how windmills, among other things, make use of this same ancient technology.
@TheOtherMike:
Huh, I guess this is a new piece. It’s much shorter than the one introduced in 7990.
Why doesn't Huwbot tell us when the part was introduced anymore?
@Galaxy12_Import:
Because Brickset’s inventory system is at the mercy of the LEGO databases. If they change a number, Brickset tracks it as a new part. If a set inventory is missing stuff, it’s missing here, too. So, every time an older part would pop up, it seemed someone would correct the “first used” claim. Compounding the problem was that sometimes it really was a new part, at least by how TLG tracked it. Maybe a small but functional change had been made, so they assigned a new number to make sure the old versions didn’t accidentally get used in situations that require the new one. So, sometimes there would be claims that the first use date was wrong and it turns out the claims were wrong. @Huw just decided to scrap that part when he brought RPotD back to save the perpetual hassle. It has now been replaced by people constantly asking why there’s no first use data anymore.
Again a brand new part.
@Huw trying to push us to the lego shop;)

What @PurpleDave said.
2022 and has only so far appeared in junior set 60325. I prefer the previous part 4503918 which only appeared in the best city cement mixer of all 7990.
So people have 6 of this part loose even though it was made this year.

I still miss the date and wish it was included...even if it had a disclaimer.
Crazy I was just looking at this part and here it is I couldn't tell what kind of connection points and size it had. Thinking about picking up a few, the set they come it was yet another major let down.
Who would want a part with a parasite?
