The latest Ideas set, 21332 The Globe, is now available at LEGO.com, along with the Toy Story, Looney Tunes and Stranger Things BrickHeadz, and 40523 Easter Rabbits Display.

40532 Vintage Taxi is still the gift with purchase with orders exceeding £200 / $200 / €200 so if you're in the USA or the Eurozone you'll receive it free with the globe. Here in the UK you'll inexplicably need to add something exceeding £25 to your order to obtain it.

By in Netherlands,

It's actually €0.01 below the GWP threshold, at least here in NL. No big deal but still a little annoying.

Sorry I was wrong, the taxi is added after all. Ordered!

By in United States,

Are Woody and Bo 'Coming Soon' for anybody else? In USA, here.

By in Peru,

Eurozone? You're wrong... out of there too (Sweden, Denmark, Poland, etc.).

@Modeltrainman:
Yup, Buzz came home, but Woody and Bo Peep ran off and hid. Went from “Coming Feb 1, 2022” to “Coming Soon”, with no stock notification option. The same thing happened with a few of the minifig blister packs, like the Batman one in 2021. They probably didn’t receive their initial shipment of this set yet, and it’ll get posted on some random day when it finally arrives.

Oh, hopefully! I grabbed Buzz, but wanted both to come at the same time. Understandable, though. I'm waiting for the UCS R2, but he hasn't come back, either. Thanks Dave!

By in United Kingdom,

Brickheadz showing Chip & Dale coming soon 1st March!
I wasn’t expecting them :)

By in United Kingdom,

Was kinda hoping the overwatch Titan set would show up, but I guess not. Knowing Lego, it’s most likely pulled by now.

Please don’t start an argument on human rights now with this comment guys.

Typically, we don't get the GWP if we are 1 cent short (in the Dutch shop online at least), but apparently we do this time. This inconistency is annoying, there are previous GWPs I would have liked but couldn't get because of the 1 cent difference. Adding an item I don't really want to go over the GWP limit defeats the purpose.

With all the set pricing ending in 99 cents, having round number GWP limits is often a bother. Setting the GWP limit just one euro lower would prevent that. That way I could also get multiple smaller sets and qualify, rather than be 3 cents short like I am for the taxi...

If you buy multiple smaller sets, all with a .99 price, you would still miss the GWP threshold if it was set at .99.
2 sets =.98
3 sets = .97
4 sets = .96
etc

Yes, indeed. That is why I would prefer a threshold of 1 full euro (not 1 cent) below the rounded number. So, for example 199 for the taxi instead of 200.

That's a pricey January and February. March shaping up the same. Hoping for a month of Friends/Star Wars releases so the wallet can go into rehab!

Just ordered the globe (US) and got the Taxi. The Taxi doesn't fit in with any of my collection, so will be listing it on ebay.

I discussed this with a LEGO Store employee while we were waiting in line to get in the store on Black Friday 2020. She said there are three different thresholds that are possible, and they don’t know which one they got until they test it. It can say $100, and actually require $100.00 or higher. It can say $100 and allow $99.99 to trigger the GWP. Or it can say $100 and let you go as low as $99.00. Whatever corporate sets it at, they have to abide by, but if it ends up lower than advertised they do try to make sure they give out the GWPs that qualify.

One instance that may result in an exception is if you have something like a $99.99 Winter Village set releasing with a $100-threshold GWP. In this situation, since hordes of shoppers will be expecting to buy just the new WV set and earn the GWP, it’s more trouble than it’s worth to explain to everyone who calls up to complain that they didn’t actually hit the magic number. I have no idea why they might lower it to $99.00, unless maybe it’s tied to a specific theme and the most likely purchase is going to be a combination of smaller sets.

On top of this, the threshold differs between the various currency zones/countries. In the past two years, I have often seen USD buyers mention in comments here on Brickset that they got a GWP eventhough the order was 1 cent short. I tried the same at my local LEGO shop, but didn't qualify for the GWP.

By in United Kingdom,

Certainly some odd inconsistencies - like when I was told I couldn't reserve in my LEGO Store until I went to buy Home Alone and was told the 2 they had in stock a couple of weeks ago were......reserved.
Seems that's discretionary too.

Trick is to add a 3 cent piece to your order from the Pick a Brick shop. I did that a few days ago when I had $199.98 and it bumped me over the threshold for the GWP.

Note: It doesn’t work with Bricks and Pieces, only Pick a Brick.

@Angry_Warlock:
The rule is you can’t reserve sets _the_day_of_release_. You can any day after that, and they’ll hold it until close the following day. I wanted Home Alone the day it came out, but had to wait until after work, by which time they’d sold through about 3/4 of their initial stock, and I was kinda chancing that they would burn off the last few copies before I got to the store. Another member of my LUG wasn’t able to get there that day, but they had their second shipment arriving the day after it released. At the start of that day, they were allowed to reserve copies of Home Alone, so he was able to call ahead for a copy.

@Wellspring:
They rejiggered how B&P/PAB work, and B&P now counts towards free shipping and GWPs. PAB will soon ship from the US for US-based orders, though I’m not sure about Canada, Mexico, or the rest of the Western Hemisphere.

By in Ireland,

The Globe set really puts in perspective how that little hot mess that is Europe colonised so much of the world. When you look at the beauty of the rest of the continents and then look at Europe, well it kinda deserves to be represented in the bitty state that it’s in because it needs to be humble and atone for its sins. Yeah I went there, sorrrrry. On topic, it’s an amazing set and I must have it.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

In Australia it was sold out, back order, at 10 minutes after midnight. Thankfully back order is going to ship from 11th of Feb, so not too long.

Gravatar
By in France,

Since Brexit, it has become difficult to deliver orders due to the lack of delivery people. Their salaries have been revised upwards and therefore the logistics are therefore more expensive. Administrative paperwork for importing legos manufactured in the EU (Czech Republic) is also an additional cost. Does LEGO therefore pass on these ancillary costs?
While the whole world is experiencing galloping inflation, the situation in the United Kingdom is worse, and even more so in Ulster....

This worked in the US shop? I just tried, but the Dutch Pick a Brick has a minimum order value of EUR 18, so just adding a single piece doesn't work. And the Brick & Pieces update hasn't been implemented yet over here, so those pieces do not yet count towards the GWP.
