Ah, the Mosaic Brick.

Interesting that the image used is the olive element rather than the far more common black one.

@Mr__Thrawn:
I didn’t know they made it in any color besides black, which is why I had to look it up to be sure it was what I thought.

I've never gotten a LEGO Art set, but I've heard rumors of just how fantastic these parts are for mocists. Looking at it it's easy to see why!

Yeah, I remember reading about this part when it was first introduced and about how useful for MOC dioramas it could be. Anyone here ever used it in a MOC?

I'd like if they made it in gray like 52040

4/3 tall brick. Huh, so with the image on them it is 5/3 high plus whatever the height of the border pieces is. I must conclude that having a 16x16 one brick high tested as too flimsy for its intended long-term static use.

@MeisterDad:
They use the Technic picture hanger element inside of these, so I suspect the 4-plate height is meant to accommodate that connection. If it was only one full brick tall, the Technic holes would only attach to stuff on the outside.

So much for "the art sets aren't selling". Although that's not divisible by 9 so someone's doing something weird. Were these in another set?

Still waiting for a Hoth space hanger built with these...? Strange before 2020 there has never been a 16x16 brick? 16x16 with bow, 8x16, 16x24 lid, 16x16 plate but no plain brick?

Yes, I've got them as the walls to a roller-disco MOC I'm working on. They're decently versatile, I think, having technic holes all along each edge gives you plenty to work with.

Similarly, I'd like the newish road plates in black or white! :)
