Came across this piece whilst building most recent At-St (75322).

I was thinking about this part last week and whether it offers benefits over a brick-built alternative. I just realized now it definitely provides more stability by keeping the gears aligned. The groove is perfectly designed to fit the flange on the gear 6589.

This block has neither cones nor wheels. Perhaps the one letter is a typo and they meant comical.

@MeisterDad:
I dunno. Marlin probably tells better jokes than this guy.

This part is ridiculously useful.

When you’ve used it, you understand the comical wheels.

I’m wondering how many 4x4s this 4x4 has been used in

By in Germany,

I have a feeling that this is now being used more in System sets than in Technic ones.

Given how complex this part looks, it's no wonder there are multiple design IDs.

The original mould used number 6585 and was released in 1995, the same year Technic shifted from 88xx numbers to 82xx (beginner sets, 'Tech Play') and 84xx (expert sets 'Tech Build').

I did a rough count of the sets it's in on Bricklink, and out of 83 total sets, I think at most 13 could be counted as Technic...
