Brown pants, for when you know you’ll be scared later?
In all seriousness though it’s pretty clever the way they put the ridges to obtain different hardware combinations for Mario’s costume.
as opposed to creature without function.
Another Mario piece,
Not just a simple creature but a Tanooki!
Ah yes, this pair of pants is quite clearly a creature.
(In all fairness, this suit is based on a Tanooki, but if that's what inspired the name you'd expect them to get more detailed than "creature")

At first, I misread the category as "Electric Pants." I suppose that's sort of accurate, even if the element itself has no electrical components or functions.
My dad says that these look like the guy from Onward.
This is, in fact, the lower part of a functional creature... (number 10)
Reminds of the silly controversy where PETA somehow got the idea that Mario had killed and made a raccoon skinsuit. Rather than the reality that it was simply an animal costume you find as a rare powerup. To play devil's advocate, sure, it could be an actual animal skin, but Mario or Luigi don't have time to worry about the ethics of wearing furs when they're doing it for the greater good of saving the world.
It's-a me, Creature with Function! Wahoo!
Hot pants.
How do you know W/ means "with"? It could also mean "without".

That's usually written as "w/o".
They couldn't think of a better descriptor for a pair of trousers than Lower Parts? I don't really want to be thinking about Mario's Lower Parts...
Number 10? Looks more like number two to me...
Although i understand the choice of a printed tail, i just miss that tail sticking out making it look like a tanooki suit.
I can't think of any other use for this. Description, accurate.
@MeisterDad:
Mario isn’t planning on fighting Deadpool, is he?
@Norikins:
I don’t know if these involved PETA or ASPCA, but my hometown runs (or used to run) a duck race during Blueberry Festival, and one of them stormed in to shut it down…until they saw the ducks. There were a few hundred of them, I think they charged $5 to pick a duck (they had numbers painted on their bottoms to tell them apart), and when they tipped them into the river with a small dump truck the race was on! And whichever yellow rubber ducky floated to the mouth of the river determined who won the prize.
The other one was the whales in Star Trek IV, which, in the film, were put in a tank just large enough to contain them during transport. Except they were 3’ long animatronic replicas made by ILM.
La creatura 10
@PurpleDave Have you seen a ShyGuy?

PETA has no right to complain about animal rights in video games with their countless animal rights abuses in real-life (and if you’re gonna target any game, why Mario? I’m not saying it’s harmful but a lot of people kill everything in Minecraft for fun). In any case if the Tanooki suit was an actual fur suit it would have something between the legs (which this part lacks) and the Kitsune suit can’t be real because Kitsunes aren’t real.
@MeisterDad:
They got about as much “mouth” on them as that character Ryan Reynolds played in the first Wolverine movie.
Ah, the Tanooki-Suit...not enough praise gets sent in that thing direction. I mean, yes the leaf/'Racoon Tail' is simpler to get; but the T-Suit...who doesn't remember the first time they went 'statue':).
Me: got the suit, and got cornered by a koopa; and by instinct: POOF! Statue...and turtle-boy took a hike...:)
