These are very useful.
Ah, this is the one New E called the “love handles”.
Not a Technic pin.
Why is it I can only think of a mustache when I look at this? Was it the Ideas version of Eggman? I think that was it.
We got a one stud version of this this year: https://brickset.com/parts/design-78257
@Huw is there a way to link to a part? (like we can do for sets)
(Well, I figured the way above, but it's not pretty and the picture does not show right away - you have to click it - and it brings you to a new tab).
It occurs to me that a plate like this, but with clips instead of bars, could be useful.
These have revolutionized how I make forward landing struts.
This piece is very useful in sets and Mocs.
How is this not available in more colors? It's new in dark azure, which is great, but it hasn't been seen in flame yellowish orange since 2019. I'd like to see it in sand green, lime green, or one of the earthy browns.

This piece but with a ball connection at each end instead of bars would and should have solved the recent floppy mech hip problem.
@LegoSonicBoy:
FYO is one of those colors I would expect pieces like this to appear in _once_, if at all. Looking at the Bricklink listing, the vast majority of uses are black or light-bley, so it appears to be used more as a utilitarian element than a decorative one. The funny thing is, the Known Color list _almost_ looks like the range offered when minifigs were introduced (Mondrian + light-grey), except instead of blue and yellow you have weird shades of blue and yellow, and of course light-bley.
Parts like these basicly settle the Modern meta of clip/bar, formerly held by the old 3 and 2 fingered parts of a long past.
Some examples of old sets using fingered plates.
6631 : Steam Shovel
6659: TV Camera Crew
6671: Utility Repair Lift
Click hinge or mixel joint plates also exist but sometimes a clip/bar is more versatile for a certain movement or size.
