75341 UCS Landspeeder revealed!
Posted by Huw,
Here's the press release for the next Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars model:
75341 Landspeeder
1,890 pieces, rated 18+
$199.99 / £174.99 / € 199.99
Available from 1st May at LEGO.com
Today, the LEGO Group announces the new epic LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker Landspeeder set – the latest in the LEGO Ultimate Collector Series (UCS). A faithful recreation of Luke’s battered vehicle, the new 1,890-piece model is a must-have for Star Wars and LEGO fans alike.
X-34 Landspeeders were typical civilian transports, designed to withstand the roughest terrains. The Landspeeder was first seen in Star Wars: A New Hope, where Luke used the vehicle extensively as part of his farm work, travelling across Tatooine’s harsh deserts. Accompanied by C-3PO, Luke used the Landspeeder to locate R2-D2, when he was discovered by Obi-Wan Kenobi. It was also the vehicle they were travelling in when Obi-Wan used a Jedi mind trick to get past Stormtroopers guarding entry into Mos Eisley. Eventually Luke sold the Landspeeder to pay for his transport to the planet Alderaan.
The LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker Landspeeder building set is 49 centimetres long when complete and features the two-seater cockpit, the turbine engine without a cover, the iconic curved cockpit windscreen plus an exclusive C-3PO minifigure (with dual moulded legs and a side print) and Luke minifigure – complete with lightsaber.
This much-anticipated set makes for the perfect piece to display and show off your love of Star Wars and LEGO building. Even the unboxing is a fun journey within itself, with the vibrant packaging showing off the intricate details of the final built set from several different perspectives.
The new set forms part of the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series sets, which also include the Millennium Falcon, the A-Wing, the Republic Gunship, and the recently released AT-AT.
The Landspeeder building set has been expertly created by LEGO set designer César Soares. Discussing the design, César said, “It’s been an amazing adventure creating Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder in LEGO brick form. It is such an iconic vehicle in the Star Wars saga. We’ve ensured no detail has been forgotten and have even included some of the scratches. The finished product makes an incredible display and is the perfect addition to the UCS collection.”
The LEGO Star Wars Landspeeder set is available for LEGO VIPs from 1st of May 2022 and everyone from 4th May 2022 from LEGO Stores and LEGO.com, at the recommended retail price of $199.99 / £174.99 / €199.99.

April fools day was 3 weeks ago.
First day buy for me, no doubt!
How many times has the scale of the vehicle been larger than the minifigure?
Nice power converters.
I like it, but it doesn’t scream exciting to me
Wow, what an incredible box. I'm really impressed that it shows off different angles of the model. That's almost better than the actual set. Looking at that thing is an experience all in itself. Can't wait to share that box with my kids someday.
Those stickers at the front ruins the build for me.
The May the Fourth promo that goes along with this is much more exciting.
My wallet has never felt so relieved.
People are not going to be happy with the color matching of the stickers at the front.

It's a UCS model. It doesn't have to be minifig scale. If you want that scale, save yourself about $140 and buy any one of the smaller speeders they've released. This is such an odd complaint.
As for the model, I like it but probably not at that price. I'd consider it at $150, maybe, but $200 is a tough sell for me, exclusive minifgs notwithstanding.
Guess we can't ask for stickers for a display only collector set... sigh. Apart from that it looks nice, the nose might be too long but the details and especially the windshield are awesome.
Wait, is that a chromed lightsabre hilt?
get away with this just give me new C3PO that's all what I want :D
I'm assuming that this will be one of the lowest selling UCS sets in recent memory.
This is one cockpit glass that will never be reused by LEGO in a set.
Also, I wonder if the set is technic-fig scale...
A great model, but it’s undoubtedly one of the least asked for ships to made in the UCS, and given we seem to get a new one in the regular scale every few years, it’s a hard sell I think.

The one in the pictures won't even be used in THIS set, there's no way it's this clear and scratch-free.
I'll steal the greebles on the engines when the digital instructions come out.
I honestly don't think it's going to be in much demand, since the X-35's came out last season...
;-)
How many landspeeders do we need? 1 every year it seems.
Haha, the stickers really are a punch in any SW fan's face.
If you keep buying sets like this they will never stop doing it.
I wonder how many people will buy for just the C3-PO minifigure.
It's actually pretty nice and sleek, it makes a good UCS set. I can't really think of anything else from the OT to do, I'm being honest
Those are some unbelievably large and unforgivable stickers for a set at this price. There's absolutely no way.
$199 for a build that’s been done countless times in different scales + 2 minifigures.
Day one for me. My fave vehicle from the OT.
"Vibrant packaging"? I do not think that word means what you think it means.
I'm sorry, but the all-black "18+" packaging just looks like they were too lazy to do any graphic design work.
The only part I want is that C3-P0- notice how this version is better than the trash compactor version?!?
I actually really like it, but I'd be a buyer at $150 not $200. Especially with the number of stickers. I also like how they hold out on the dual molded C-3PO for this set..
I love it! Landspeeder was the coolest hot rod of 1977!

If Lego doesn’t include the cockpit glass in a separate baggie of its own, that’ll be a major oversight.
I love the detail on this model (and that Threepio minifig!!!), but can’t help but feel the irony of this release. The novelty just isn’t there with a vehicle that Lego releases every other year in System-scale.
That said, I’d love to get this at some point if/when it hits a discount.
A beautiful ship (not withstanding the stickers - no excuse for stickers in a UCS set) and it's iconic.
An absolute must for me.
Thank goodness it is not stupidly priced (Gunship $550 and the AT-AT $1300) and isn't massive. I was running out of room with all the incredibly large sets released lately.
I think it's about time for them to move on from the Original Trilogy, they're scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to picking vehicles to be made into UCS sets. At this point, the only OT vehicle I can see people getting reasonably excited about over becoming a UCS set is a TIE Bomber. The fact that the Republic Gunship won the UCS poll shows there is a demand for Prequel era vehicles becoming UCS sets, and Lego would be smart to start tapping into that demand.
Kinda neat that pictures didnt leak but I honestly dont find the set all that impressive. Im not sure how impressive a UCS-Scale Luke's Landspeeder would have to be for me to want to buy it, I assume 'very', but this just doesnt look all that special to me.
Sticker galore! Ugh.

I don't understand Lego's fixation with this ship. It barely did anything remarkable in the movie. It doesn't fly or shoot or was in any battle at all. Yet, every 3, 4 years we get a new version.

They’re released like that because it’s a perennial best-seller, so LEGO always wants to have at least one on shelves. New ones are released so the set is up to date on building styles as they evolve.
The hatred of the landspeeder sets has always baffled me- the explanation for why they’re released is exceedingly simple and entirely valid, but without fail there’s going to be someone complaining every time a new one is released.
That price though...
Ugh..no. Nice C3PO though.
Wow, this thing is nearly 1:6 scale, that's insanely large for this model.
Pretty alright. In my opinion it’s quite bland in comparison to the last few years May d2c releases, especially compared to the last two years excellent sets. It’s probably the worst May d2c release since Assault on Hoth. I’m not sure if I’m gonna get it yet. It seems like it could be in scale with the UCS A-Wing, which would make for a nice display. Also the threepio is pretty great.
In conclusion, I was expecting a better set.
And again ... way too big! Another waste ...
Bring us an ucs Genosian arena battle including Mace Windu, Kitt Fisto and lots of other interesting figs and creatures!!!
It's a well done model, but at the same time, it's a Landspeeder. I likely wouldn't buy a 1995 Chevrolet Astro Van Speed Champions set, so it's unlikely I get this either.
This is so great. I have waited for such a long time to add this great sticker set to my collection of UCS stickers.

The large creator expert vehicles seem to sell well, this is just in the Star Wars universe.
I honestly really like it and the promotional set is good enough that this will be a day 1 buy for me.
I'm happy to see a UCS set that isn't a starfighter or another spaceship. I also disagree with the notion that the X-34 Landspeeder isn't an iconic vehicle from the original trilogy.
To me it's a UCS spot that could have been used for a much more interesting vehicle. Those speeders are so common that every SW fan on the planet should have at least a handful by now. Plus, where did all the pieces go? Is the interior filled with 1x1 plates in all the colours of the rainbow? The set doesn't look like half the pieces imho.
It doesn't look bad of course, it just feels so superfluous. And as always, stickers, at that price point, are a no-go. No other manufacturer is so cheaping out for sets of this price range and target audience.
And now we see why Trash Compacter C-3PO didn’t get his silver shin.
UCS Lars Home would have been nice
Awesome! Been hoping for a UCS landspeeder for YEARS. Day One buy for me!

But for now it looks interesting."
I hope it will be packed separately, just like the windshield for the delorean.
First impressions .. Love the cockpit and C3PO but IMO the overall design not is not close enough especially with Lego using comparison photos of the real thing on the rear of the box which just highlights the shape and colour discrepancies on the thrusters also the mounts for these appear just straight not fluted and the bonnet (hood) appears a couple of studs too long, feels like a scaled up system set (75271)rather than an accurate UCS, This maybe the first landspeeder I have passed on however I await the review before nailing the coffin shut on this one.
What's with the comments about how they've already made so many landspeeder sets? There's been 0 in UCS scale so far and only 6 in minifig scale. They've made at least as many minifig scale Millennium Falcons, AT-ATs, A-Wings, X-Wings, etc. If you would rather have something else, fine, but it makes total sense that this vehicle would be in the UCS lineup at some point.
Finally!!
As my second favorite vehicle in Star Wars, I love the look of this model. $200 is far more than I'd pay so I'll stick with my slightly smaller Hasbro Black Series Landspeeder that was only $42 and all the other beautiful Lego Landspeeder versions I already own. =-)

I’d be SO down for some Vans in the Speed Champions line, name be damned.
This is... another Lego landspeeder. At this point it’s like they’re trying to improve the wheel. The stickers are also inexcusable, and I agree with the comment above that predicted color matching will be an issue.
FWIW I don’t think stickers should be totally banned from expensive sets, but those are big AND curved AND on a prominent location on the vehicle. They could have ditched Luke and 3PO from the parts budget and sprung for prints.
Will you be buying this set?
(X) No, it has stickers on curved slopes
Damn, was hoping it'd be something more higher-scale like another Death Star II or a big modern UCS X-Wing.

Doesn't look nearly large enough to fit my Hot Toys 1/6 figures in tho!
I may be miss remembering something but didn't lego just say c3po's legs weren't going to get that much better than the trash compactor one?
Also this looks very meh to me, was anyone really wanting this that badly? The price seems normal to me, that windscreen is super expensive to produce.

TIE Advanced, a better TIE Interceptor, a Nebulon B, and Home One would all fit the bill for me.
Finally a place to keep my 75110 figure
A lot of complaints about the stickers for... reasons? I have no idea, honestly, they seem to serve a clear purpose here.
I'd pose a challenge to the naysayers: how would you build that front section without stickers, while maintaining accuracy? The best I can think of is a flat layer of nougat on top of a flat layer of dark red, and even then you'd miss out on that nice angle.
Oh wow, it looks cool. But we sure have had a lot of LEGO landspeeders in the past.

I may be wrong but I don't think it was a complaint. It's a legitimate trivia question - how often have big sets like these been a bigger scale than the minifigs? The new DeLorean comes to mind.
It’s gorgeous, marred only by the abundance of stickers. I really wish they’d drop stickers in general, but especially for adult collector-focused display sets like this.
That said, it’s a beautiful representation of a classic, iconic vehicle, and one never done at this size before. I totally get the complaints about stickers; the ones about it being another landspeeder are ludicrous. They’ve released a bunch of versions over the decades, yes, but every single one of them is a significantly smaller scale and lower level of detail, and don’t really take the place of this as a display piece.
I think this looks great! It’s not something that I would buy, but this speeder is iconic, and it looks great in UCS. I do hope that they start doing more prequel UCS sets though.
Also, there are so many cool landspeeders and airspeeders from the other films and shows that LEGO could do instead of a system one every year or two. I’m still waiting for an Episode II airspeeder chase. But there are several speeders used in Mandalorian, BoBF, The Prequels, and all of the animated content. Most of the “car” speeders in SW would make excellent 20-25$ sets. Even most of the speeder bike sets that were based on unique speeders have been fantastic. In general, speeders make great small play sets, and it feels like LEGO has barely tapped into the reservoir of cool designs in SW.

I spent a good five minutes trying to counter this claim and I got it! The speeder bikes from Return of the Jedi (although there was a large scale one in the constractable figure line, it wasn’t UCS)
Per the picture of the actual speeder on the back if the box, the aspect ratio is off a bit. It looks a stud or 2 too long. Not a buy for me either way.
For some reason, to me the Landspeeder is one of the most iconic vehicles to me. Maybe because the special effects on this one were so well done in the movie.
And since I've loved most the UCS sets so far, I'm pretty sure it will end up here.
I don't hate this as a model and I don't hate that it has stickers (though just those 2 stickers on the front are awful for a number of reasons), as a matter of fact I am really pleased that this is going to get more regular pieces in plain nougat out there and I think that busted-up engine looks outstanding. I just am not a fan of how the Star Wars product assortment, which has been seriously downsized since the new slate of movies came to an abrupt end, is increasingly full of display-only collector's items targeting adult fans of just the original two movies with heaps of disposable income
With how often we get a new landspeeder, surely it's not too much to ask for a new minifig scale Delorean to fix the unfortunate design of 21103. That's all I want.
Where is R2-D2 and Obi-Wan Kenobi
7110 : Landspeeder is my only Star Wars set.
That said, there must be a market for those type of UCS/Display sets.
As for LEGO making minifig landspeeder every ~3 year or so , they are probably popular enough too , maybe not with people already owning one of those sets already, but kids/new people getting into LEGO SW , especially via A New Hope.
It looks like a pretty good build.....but I still can't get over the fact that you get so many (and some pretty essential) stickers in such an expensive display set. Especially those at the front should have been printed, edge-to-edge. If Cobi and many Chinese brands can do it, why can't Lego?
(and even if they would, I bet the colors wouldn't match....)
Ah, it's good to see the plaque contains some nonsense:
"Capacity: (...) and 5kg of cargo"
Five kilograms?? Old Ben could yeet 5kgs further than the range of this speeder!
inevitable. but i like it
I prefer the minifig scale ones.
So happy to finally get a UCS Landspeeder. Been waiting on one for years.

According to Brickset, there are 36 UCS sets. As far as I can gather, these ships are minifig-scale: 10212 Imperial Shuttle, 75059 Sandcrawler, 75060 Slave I, 10179/75192 Millennium Falcon, 75313 AT-AT, and perhaps 10026 Special Edition (chrome) Naboo starfighter.
There are also a few minifig-scale playsets: 10188/75159 Death Star, 10236 Ewok Village, and 75098 Assault on Hoth.
Now, for the rest, some ships are bigger than minifig-scale (X-wings), some ships are smaller (Star Destroyers)... I'll let someone else parse out those answers. :)
Such a nice model. It's not in the same league as the Millennium Falcon, Star Destroyer and AT-AT UCS sets, they are a class apart, but it fits in nicely with the A-Wing and Y-Wing of recent years. I certainly prefer it to the Gunship, which is the only UCS in the last 6 years I haven't bought.
The inclusion of stickers, particularly such large ones in a prominent position, is annoying. As I never apply stickers I obviously prefer printed pieces.
Looking at the comparison shot they posted on the box art, really surprised no-one else is commenting that this is about 6-8 studs too longer at the front.
I know its not mini-fig scale, but even then the scales way off.

Recently some clever guy invented some magic tech called "a printer" which can actually "print" stuff on curved pieces and believe it or not, those prints do not peel, fade, or look dirty.
I guess no one would complain, if Lego would simply offer a Pick-A-Sticker service for all sets ever released which would allow me to fix damaged, faded, old stickers on sets.
We are talking about 200 Euro for something that probably costs less than 30 Euro to produce and the Lego sells for "collectors", hence the UCS name.
I haven't applied stickers to my models for years, so the fact they're essential for the display value on this one makes it a bit of a write off for me...
I don't get why people moan so much about Lego not releasing prequel stuff. They're a business, and they know what sells- and for 'big' sets, that's stuff that people with 'big' money want- and in the case of Star Wars, that's OT sets. There are far more OT fans who can afford to blow $200 / £180 on a Lego set than there are prequel trilogy fans. As time goes on, and prequel trilogy fans get older, there will be increasingly more of us with the cash to throw at big prequel UCS sets, and Lego will produce them accordingly.
Yes, you can point at the official survey, in which people voted for the Republic Gunship ahead of Nebulon Frigate & Tie Bomber, which does show that things are changing, but:
A) That was a vote between one of the most iconic Prequel ships and 2 niche OT ships.
B) The demographic who answers an online survey is heavily swayed by the younger market (and without being cynical, I'd imagine a fair portion of people responded who never had any intention of blowing £350 on a Lego set anyway).
I want Prequel trilogy UCS sets so badly, but am happy for Lego to churn out these OT sets until the market is ready for them.
My personal UCS OT wishlist includes an updated:
UCS Tie Advanced
UCS AT-ST
And I also missed the UCS Imperial Shuttle, so would want to see that as well, even though it's design still mostly holds up. Then I'd love an MBS Jabba's Palace, based on the Return of the Jedi. I believe that there's such a big market for such a set...
It looks alright, but I can think of at least a dozen PT ships that would've deserved a UCS version more.

I think a TIE Interceptor would be a good candidate. It hasn't even gotten a System-scaled set in a good long while. TIE Bomber would also be a good candidate for this reason, but I feel like Interceptor might be slightly more popular.

75059 is not minifig-scale. Brickvault did a minifig-scale one a few years ago and it was gigantic.

PT sets are tough for UCS, both in design and popularity. The Republic Gunship is probably the best ship to get the treatment, and after that I can't think of any truly iconic vessels that need a UCS treatment to be properly realized. Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter wasn't a strong seller for them, and the ROTS-era Jedi Starfighter has been pretty well covered by System sets. I feel like many of the iconic moments in the prequels are better represented by Master Builders Series sets than vehicle-focused UCS sets.
I'd love to see a new version of a UCS Naboo Starfighter (my favorite prequel ship), but other than that I agree with you Bagelwolf. There are so many awesome MBS sets that could be made from the prequels (Jedi Temple, Geonosis Arena, and Podrace Arena, to name three).
I'm *really* surprised that NO ONE seems to like this. I gave up on Star Wars when I realised all the films are terrible, but even I think this looks quite nice. Maybe it's just the funky colours though.

I really like this.
Too reliant on stickers and that windscreen will not look nearly that nice in person
There is absolutely no way I can lay those two stickers on the front correctly. My technique for large stickers is crap. Anxiety for this set is already in the red, causing me to wonder if I should pick it up because of that single critical area.
That’s my problem…not LEGOs problem. Up to me to fix it if I want the set.
Do I want the set? Hmmm…lots of intense emotional reaction surrounding this one, might be time for some Hulk Logic.
HULK LIKES BROWN POOP CAR THAT FLOATS! NOOO! FLOATY CAR IS SO MUCH MONEY! WHY CREATOR CAR COST SO BETTER? MINI FIGS WEAK! ONLY 1+1! SAME OLD LUKE IN UNDERWEAR MAKE HULK FEEL BAD! OOOOO, SHINY ROBOT LEG! HULK MUST HAVE!
It's not grey, so I'll give them that, but I find it expensive for that part count.

I'm not sure they ruin it for me . . . but seriously, this is a $200 model . . . can't we get some printing?
If Juniors sets have printed pieces I think the high end sets should definitely have printed pieces.
If there isn't a running joke at Lego yet about how the AFOL community is always dead against anything of any kind, regardless of past opinions, I'd be very surprised. Bunch of Goldilockses the lot of ya. I think it looks great.

Surprised the stand isn't lower to better capture that hovering vibe.
Guess the name plaque & minifigures are the reason.
They excuse the lack of R2-D2 as being because they were using the landspeeder to track him down. Cheap move Lego.
I realise there is a lot of competition but this most be one of the whiniest threads ever.

To answer that question, most UCS sets based on ships that are "starfighter" size or smaller fall into that category: the UCS X-Wing, Y-wing, A-Wing, B-Wing, Snowspeeder, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, etc. When dealing with ships that small, minifigure scale wouldn't really be big enough to allow for an "Ultimate Collector Series" level of detail.
Anyway, the designers did a really nice job here capturing the landspeeder's colors and "streamline moderne" inspired curves! It's also neat that C-3PO finally has a dual-molded right leg, something that I feel is long overdue. I could just as easily do without some of the other details on that minifigure like the printing on the sides of the legs, but the dual-molded leg is a big improvement over the printed silver details that previous C-3PO minifigs had to settle for.
Looking forward to reading a review of this set from a site like New Elementary that can talk about all the cool new recolors it introduces! I don't anticipate getting this set myself, mind you. My wife's the one who still collects UCS Star Wars sets, and she's primarily interested in starfighters. Still, considering how long a lot of folks have waited for a UCS set of Luke's Landspeeder, I'm very impressed with what the designers were able to turn out!

I sold all my Star Wars UCS sets back in 2020. Don't regret it one bit. Now I don't feel obligated to buy this, before my desire to keep the collection "complete" caused me to purchase sub par models like this one. I don't hold this against the designer at all, the source material is not a good fit for UCS.
I have no greater desire to buy this $200 set over the minifig scale 75271 . Funny thing is the $30 set has more minifigs.
The free offer looks nice.
I like it, although the nose looks a little too long. I won't get it because I prefer minifig-scale stuff.
I sense a business opportunity: applying stickers for those who can't or won't do it themselves.
It even includes some of the scratches...is that referring to the windscreen rubbing against the other bricks?...I kid, I kid.
Actually I did notice in my latest BnP order they separated the windscreens in individual plastic bags. So that was a first. I wish that happened with my earlier orders so they wouldn't be scuffed.
The set looks neat overall. But it is not something I need in a UCS format. But I'm sure there are some fans that will enjoy it. And I do like the windscreen, but I doubt it will be used in many other vehicles.

"Recently some clever guy invented some magic tech called "a printer" which can actually "print" stuff on curved pieces and believe it or not, those prints do not peel, fade, or look dirty.
I guess no one would complain, if Lego would simply offer a Pick-A-Sticker service for all sets ever released which would allow me to fix damaged, faded, old stickers on sets.
We are talking about 200 Euro for something that probably costs less than 30 Euro to produce and the Lego sells for "collectors", hence the UCS name."
Lol, no need to be snarky, and I didn't mean to come across as snarky myself. I was legitimately unaware that the stickers were any more or less prone to fading or dirtiness than printed pieces, as I personally have never experienced it. Not even peeling for that matter. I know LEGO does replace recent stickers, but not forever, so that's a valid point.
I can't believe at that price they didn't even bother to fix the thruster cover!
That's the true SW 70s vibe that reminds me of my first 6 cars. Drive old cars, save your money, invest smartly, and then maybe one day you can afford to buy expensive Lego toys.
Why did this take so long to get!?!?!?
Had no idea we were due for another UCS so early after the AT-AT, but I like the subject matter here. To me the single biggest factor that makes this a success is the new bubble windscreen, nothing else would have worked at this scale so this part was absolutely necessary. The modern color palette is at a good place to do justice on the paint job, and plenty of exposed studs for the authentic "LEGO" look.
I'm not a UCS collector but I really like this one, doesn't seem to be the general consensus here though.
Its Luke's crappy, barely running, landspeeder. He couldnt even sell for more than 2,000c. Cmon, give us something more exciting please LEGO.
I really like it, but it’s not for me honestly.
C-3PO is probably the best part.

"How many times has the scale of the vehicle been larger than the minifigure? "
According to Brickset, there are 36 UCS sets. As far as I can gather, these ships are minifig-scale: 10212 Imperial Shuttle, 75059 Sandcrawler, 75060 Slave I, 10179 / 75192 Millennium Falcon, 75313 AT-AT, and perhaps 10026 Special Edition (chrome) Naboo starfighter.
There are also a few minifig-scale playsets: 10188 / 75159 Death Star, 10236 Ewok Village, and 75098 Assault on Hoth.
Now, for the rest, some ships are bigger than minifig-scale (X-wings), some ships are smaller (Star Destroyers)... I'll let someone else parse out those answers. :)"
75059 is not minifig-scale. Brickvault did a minifig-scale one a few years ago and it was gigantic."
Ah, yes you are 100% correct. Also looking again and thinking more, I suppose the playsets (like Ewok Village) are also not minifig-SCALE, but rather minifig-COMPATIBLE.
I really botched this one, eh? :)

"Wait, is that a chromed lightsabre hilt?"
I checked the real life images. It's just false advertising. Go to Mustafar, LEGO.
@leetshoe:
Most, but not by a huge margin. The Death Star, SSD, ISD (x2), and Tantive IV are smaller scale. The Falcon (x2), Tyderium, Slave I, AT-AT, are about the same scale. Naboo Starfighter and sandcrawler are at or smaller than minifig scale. Then you’ve got X-Wing (x2), Y-Wing (x2), A-Wing, B-Wing, Snowspeeder (x2), TIE Fighter, Vader’s TIE, TIE Interceptor, AT-ST, Jedi Starfighter, and Republic Gunship that are all clearly larger. That’s 5:7:14, so just over half, if you eliminate character builds and playsets from the discussion.
@Metroidman97:
I still want my Ep6 speederbike! There was also a a lot of support for a Nebbie, a twin-pod cloud car or a T-16 might be interesting, the sail barge would be popular, the skiff probably less-so, and they could probably make the Rebel transport and at least one Mon Cal cruiser work (but they’d need to be spaced out a bit. They could make the SE Imperial landing craft, but I don’t know how well that would play vs the Tyderium. There will also be repeats of vehicles that have already been done. So, there’s a lot of life left besides just the Bomber. But I’m also hoping to get the Soulless One someday, and Jango’s Slave I. If they get to the point where they’re making one of those Yavin base ferries as a UCS set, _then_ they need to abandon the OT.
@Somnium:
It’s the closest thing they have to a passenger car, and has one of the highest capacity vs size ratios.
@GregoryBrick:
Because you can’t make “pew-pew” noises with a landspeeder.
@Albus:
Well, if you open it up to non-SW sets, you’ve got four Tumblers (every single black version that didn’t come in a polybag), Burton’s Batmobile and Batwing, that weird Batmobile from the original Batman theme, the DeLorean, Ecto-1, a whole parking lot of Creator Expert cars, the entire Speed Champions theme, every brickbuilt motorcycle ever, most SW starfighters, and Santa’s new sleigh (prove me wrong!). An odd pair are the Pizza Planet truck and the garbage truck from Toy Story 3, which are larger than scale for _a_ minifig, but quite a bit smaller than scale for the Toy Story toys as minifigs.
@Sandinista:
The steering vanes on the constraction speederbike also look like they were designed via phone. And see earlier in this post for a substantial list of missing OT vehicles that don’t involve (much) background stuff like the Mos Eisley landspeeders.
So maybe a weird opinion, but I think this would fit beautifully alongside the other 'movie car' replicas - Ecto 1, Batmobile, Delorean, etc.
That windscreen will be dead on arrival with scratches everywhere.
Just had to come back and look at it - the more I look at it the more I love it !
I’ve never bought a UCS set new before, this may be my first, although I’ll probably wait for some sort of discount. Of course, if Lego releases a regular sand crawler or star destroyer for over $100, then this probably isn’t going to happen.

"Where did 1890 pieces go?"
Under those stickers!
Was so looking forward to this... It's too long and the engines are slightly too big. The sticker on the side where the grey tubes end is a total cop-out but the biggest problem are the engines.
The shaping at the front is disappointing, the colour at the front is wrong and they shouldn't be closed at the back.
Have to think about this one now, definitely not a day-one.
Not really interested in this one but as it’s rumored for years now, I’m just glad it’s out finally, and we can move along.
Nice to see a UCS set again under 200 republic/imperial credits, although with this piece count it’s probably a tad too high still
Prepare for a not completely transparent piece of cockpit plastic.

No, it won't. It's separately wrapped in plastic self adhesive foil, same as the DeLorean windscreen.
I don't get it.
Why are people so negative about this set...
I mean it's refreshing to finally get a new UCS vessel that hasn't been released before.
I think it looks fantastic, I'm definitely getting this one, the colortheme is excellent and the new windscreen piece looks so cool.
Looks very good, but meh.
It doesn't do anything for me but I don't mind. If others are happy great and it just means I can try and address my existing still want list.
I doubt I'll ever understand people being excited about this though. I don't mean just this version either, I mean the vehicle in general. It just doesn't evoke a strong positive reaction from me despite the time on screen. I assume I'm in the minority though as based on something like market data LEGO must believe it will sell.
Oh it's so beautiful.
Definitely worth 2,000 credits.
Stickers on a curved surface are tricky enough. But when the background is not colour matched to the bricks, rather than say being transparent, the end result is likely to be some frustrated fans on the phone to customer services begging for new sticker sheets. For nearly two hundred of my hard earned pounds I would expect better. It feels like these days the entire creative budget at LEGO is being eaten up on new minifig moulds so there is nothing left over for printing pieces in expensive sets. I suppose it’s a cost benefit analysis that the number of units sold with printed pieces will be almost the same as with stickers, so why bother? First SW poster I ever had on my wall in 1977 was the landspeeder scene, but this set is an easy pass. Just not appealing enough to look at like an X-Wing is for example.
I have never been less interested in a UCS Star Wars set in my life. Thank god for the unofficial UCS Batman sets - they look nicer, aren't chosen from veey specific movies only, always have guaranteed figures included, and are much better value.
I wish people would stop winging and complaining about stickers that much. Sure those UFO ends are tricky, but come on! This is a bit much.
I used to be a collector of Star Wars sets, however, Lego's price policy made me stop buying them some 8 months ago. Thus this is also a big NO.
I don't like that windscreen. It looks like something clone brands would do.
It looks nice, exactly what you would expect from a UCS landspeeder. It's a bit of a shame there was no alternative for a more brick-built windscreen or something considering the size of it, but ah well...
Way out of my price class, but that's okay. The UCS sets are a long tradition.
I love the build. Looks very sleek and nice even if other vehicles should have been made before it. Threepio figure is exquisite. Hoped they might include a new Artoo with back printing & sand splotches. Luke is meh, they could've at least continued the leg printing to the side to make it special somehow.
One of the best looking UCS, maybe because of the color scheme and the shape of the vehicle. Usually UCS is better for big vehicles such as capital ships. Anyway not something I would spend $200 on, not even $100 lol
Had zero interest in this before it was revealed, but I actually really like it. It’s got a whole retro futuristic look and I love the colour scheme. But, if I’m going to lay down hundreds on a Lego set, it has to be very special. I’m not sure it’s quite special enough. If this set was £100 I’d happily buy.

Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter of 2011 and the UCS Snowspeeder I think are the two other exceptions^
So it costs more than pirates of barracuda bay or land rover defender. Both significantly larger sets with several hundred more pieces. terrible value

It happened with Back to the Future and a few Star Wars UCS
@haseeb:
21322 has an inflated piece count that puts it at $0.079/pc, well below the ten cents “gold standard”. 42110 has an even more inflated piece count that drops it to $0.078/pc, and that includes 291x 2L friction pins, 103x 2L friction axle pins, 149x 3L friction pins. Combined, that’s 543pcs that most Technic fans will automatically deduct from the piece count before calculating price per piece.
497 is a set that another member of my LUG likes to trot out to show the price per piece hasn’t seen an inflation adjustment in over four decades. It ran about $0.095/pc at the time. This set is only $0.106/pc, which is still better than early 2000’s World City sets on average, by about half a cent per piece. Deliberately picking sets that have unusually low price per piece is a bit of a cheat when trying to show that one with an average cost is “terrible value”.

"
You do realize that the LEGO Ideas guidelines contain a rule that clearly states that entries within a licensed property that LEGO currently sells will not be accepted, right?
@YanVanLan:
I had the same reaction, as I started reading it, but the “ten years later” bit makes me think it was sarcasm.
