One small step for a rocket…
Look, Buzz, a rocket tip!
Ah the Rocket/ light socket/ missile fins/ antenna holder.
Another piece that gives me the Classic Space warm fuzzies. I loved its use as the model plane's tail in 10270.

"this is where the standard cylinder went from good, to awesome! "
...I didn't realize untill reading this post that this part is an altered cylinder lol
Nice part and I'd also like a return of 4591: the 2x2x2 version of this (last produced in 2012 - unfortunately).
@HOBBES: I'd like that part to make a comeback, too.
Ahh Classic space part.. Was also used as a base for some robots in the mid 80's Space sets as well.
Oh man. This + part 4595 + 1x1 cone = classic space wrapped up in three pieces.
I had more of these as a kid.
And a lot of them were in transparent colors.
Rocket Step? That sounds dangerous.
Elton John tried “Rocket Step” but it just wasn’t as catchy
Rocket fins would make more sense, although always thought of single stud diameters as missiles and two stud diameters as rockets.
Good memories from Exo-force sets that used this piece with a cup: https://images.app.goo.gl/BMwio5otD8P99ZRt5
Another piece which, like yesterday's, I first encountered in 6494: this time as the feet of the detachable rocket-launching house front! Say what you will about Time Cruisers, but it was certainly a theme that was great for introducing a relative newcomer to Lego to all kinds of pieces he'd never encountered before ^^
Very Classic part that's still in use in this color even.
One of my favorite part use is using 2 of them as a mace for Cole from 71719 : Zane's Mino Creature (and other sets with Cole that season)
And in a more classic context of Space : 4 of them on the skycrane/drone in 60350 : Lunar Research Base
One of my favorite aspects of this part is that it can be placed with the fins perpendicular to studs in between four studs or with them at a 45° angle on a single stud.
I also had variants of this in 6494 Mystic Mountain Time Lab before I got them anywhere else--but the first set I think of them in is always Alpha Team's 6773, which has two in trans-neon green.
If you add one of these to an aerial 3957 it makes a great mace for your Castle soldiers.
