Aah, yes… “Plane Front”. Never actually used in the front of a plane.
Who names this stuff?!
The windshield you'll use for REALLY big rigs.
I am guessing Creator and Model Team scale would use them a lot, but I've not built any vehicles wider than an 8-wide cab. And even then, it had two 4x2 windscreens.
More confusing nomenclature--this is a part that I honestly can't see being practical for aircraft. A Snowspeeder used it as a side window, but that's about it.
It was used in the 2017 UCS Snowspeeder. Hence, "plane front". Obviously.
Bricklink lists these models containing it: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=24607&in=S

And even on the snowspeeder, it wasn't used on the front..

A fair point, well made. However the Mini Cooper predates the Snowspeeder by 3 years meaning for a few years at least it wasn’t used for a plane. :)
Maybe they meant plain front.
Or planar front.
@cody6268:
Three cars, one bus, one powerboat, one sailboat, and one Snowspeeder. I can’t tell whether it was created for the Mini Cooper or VW Beetle, since the original Mini Cooper used a 3x10x3 windshield, and for some reason Brickset doesn’t have any set listing for the reissue that used this (which means no dates showing when it went on sale). Brickset shows the original version lasting until 2015, but Bricklink shows the reissue being a 2016 set.
Funny thing, I didn't know if I had this piece, but when I saw in the listing that I did have one, I immediately guessed it was from 10252. And I was right! Also, I was surprised to find out that it's been used in a minifig set and a minidoll set.
I got this in the Mini Cooper 10242, the set that broke my 45 year hiatus from Lego in June 2016. To be more precise, I got it's picture in the instruction manual, but the old thicker, badly fitting versions in the box! Had to contact Customer Services to get the newly released thinner versions!
(Actually the old thicker version fitted the back fine, but not the front.
https://images.brickset.com/sets/AdditionalImages/10242-1/10242_alt7.jpg shows how badly the original fitted, prompting the update!)

Yeah but it is a very plain window so maybe this is just a humble spelling mistake!
Like I said before - interns ;-)
It's plane as in flat surface, not plane as in airplane.
