By in Ireland,

Won’t get excited as only a small subset will be green lit.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I like a lot of the buildings - they are very well done. Sadly, I doubt any will be picked. Same goes with the trains.

I don't understand how a giant toilet made it through? To each their own.

Best guess would be the insects or the tales of the space age. They are both well done, don't seem to be a gigantic piece count and minimal adjustments. Plus no licensing.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A lot of train and buildings... Just pick one Lego!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

If they can nail the transforming function, I’d love to own the mach-1

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lot of neat ones here, nothing stands out as a "must have" for me.

At least there weren't any weird ones hardly anyone recognizes this time (I still don't fully understand who/what BTS is/does, and how they're popular enough to warrant a set).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Concorde or Adventure box

Gravatar
By in United States,

I would love market village to make it, as it would go nicely with the blacksmith shop and it’s been awhile since we’ve had a set like that. Honestly that castle in the forest is cool too as is the village over the bridge.

I feel like lego will soon need to raise the threshold to over 10,000 to weed out some more of these ideas...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I like the Wild West mine and the lancia, although it would probably need a lot of stickers to look like that. If not picked, would like to see the Lancia in the speed champions range

Gravatar
By in United States,

Past experience has shown I’m absolutely lousy at guessing which candidates out of a given slate of Ideas projects will be approved for the ultimate honor of becoming real sets. That said, given that there are four or five trains here (depending upon whether one counts the Disney coaster), I’d like to think at least one has a shot…

Gravatar
By in United States,

This wave seems better than the last round IMO. It's pretty clear people want more trains and castle. There's not way that steampunk airship is stable is there? 4 ladder pieces can't be enough support.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Really the only one I see is sort of the Polar Express? None look promising

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

That Orient Express looks so much better than mine that I displayed at a local convention in March. I do have a wild story to tell about mine, relating to the word "legal", but I'm not sure that it's appropriate for this comment section, so I shan't elaborate. (Don't worry, nothing of note ever materialized from that.)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I like the Airship and the Nautilus. Neither will get picked, though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well I think we can eliminate all of the Castle sets again as being too redundant with the upcoming 90th Anniversary set, even if I personally feel the Forestmen Inn is distinct enough to coexist with other medieval products. The farm and sea serpent are also redundant with recently revealed sets, and we have two new trains already on the way. The wild west train could be redundant with the rumored new roller coaster for this year. And I don't think Lego has ever approved a modular building through Ideas before. Of the remainder, I think the minerals set is the most likely to get approved - similar to the popular botanical line, but not so similar that it might overlap with something already in development. Personally, my favorite of the sets that could at least plausibly get approved is 221B Baker Street, but I'm not holding my breath.

Working in a bookstore that also sells CDs and vinyl records, I would say BTS is possibly the single most popular music group with teenagers in the United States right now, possibly in the world (they're a Korean pop group). And those teenagers also buy a lot of peripheral merchandise just because it has the group's logo on it. The set as submitted was uninspired for sure, but selling BTS is almost certainly a solid business decision.

That said, I don't think I could name a single one of their songs, although I'm sure I've heard them in a commercial somewhere.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lots of great ideas, but you can count half of them out immediately, since they are modular buildings or too similar to existing sets/themes. Some would also need to be reworked significantly to be stable enough for sale.

Better go find one, then. This one won't be ready for a year at least!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Steampunk, Nautilus. That is all and all that would be a good marketing decision. I would buy the Insects because it would complement the birds set or the Adventure Box for something different like the maze. Everything else is either a recent release or I could build or buy myself. For example I would buy an actual antique cash register if I wanted it, much like the typewriter. Or globe. Or piano. Or tennis shoes. Or just watch the Office, Seinfeld, Big Bang, Friends, etc. For the record, the only three that I voted for out of this are the airship, the Nautilus, and the insects. Democracy will tell, right?

Gravatar
By in France,

1. THE FORESTMEN SECRET INN
2. WILD WEST MINE
3. THE ORIENT EXPRESS, A LEGENDARY TRAIN
4. FARM LIFE
5. JULES VERNE'S NAUTILUS
6. STEAMPUNK AIRSHIP
7. TALES OF THE SPACE AGE
8. SHERLOCK HOLMES - 221B BAKER STREET

Gravatar
By in United States,

I agree entirely with weeding out some of these. I don't think even in death I would think, "Hey, I need to build a Gilmore Girls house, post mortem."

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think the suspended monorail would be great, but would need to be a lot bigger than the average Ideas set to really do it justice.

More likely possibilities I like: The Land Camera and the Cash Register (although that might be too close to the typewriter)

Gravatar
By in United States,

BTS will go away in time.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Why do people keep submitting sets that are part of an official theme, such as modular buildings/plants/winter village? They will never get picked.

From this, I think the insects and chip n dale will get picked, and maybe one of the medieval style ones to carry the blacksmith set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

OMG I love so many of these!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, these all suck. At least I can't get disappointed by whichever ones get selected.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I want the market village and the secret inn. I love the Integrale but would prefer it as a Speed Champion.

I'd bet that the Polaroid would get chosen over them, as it's clever and fits a bit with their typewriter as a display model. The adventure box is an option as well, since they don't have anything quite like it.

If only that were true for the comments section here.

Gravatar
By in United States,

In order of want / need:

1. Wild west mine
2. polar express (...third time's the charm?)
3. Orient Express
4. Pneumatic steam loco

I may have slight steam train addiction.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Some really nice designs here. The Mach 1, though, really needs to happen. It's awesome.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Also, if the Concorde comes as a set, I wanna scale Doctor Who TARDIS that can go in the cargo hold, like in the 5th Dr series "Time-Flight"!

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

THE CONCORDE.

JUST GIVE ME THAT CONCORDE SET.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

LEGO Insects for sure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As usually, many great and beautiful MOC’sc but very few that would make good sets.

Gravatar

The UCS Toilet is the Lego version of the internet's version of funny like Boaty Mcboatface or Snakes on a Plane.

By in United States,

1. THE FORESTMEN SECRET INN - Probably not. If one of these castle sets miraculously passes, none of the others will.

2. THE LEGENDARY CONCORDE - No.

3. MINI CITY DIORAMA: LONDON WITH UNDERGOUND STATION - Not a chance.

4. THE LEGO TOILET - Is this a joke?

5. LEGO KOALA - Would make a good little set. Decent chance but will likely get passed in favor of something else.

6. WILD WEST MINE - No.

7. THE LIBRARY - Modular MOC, not a chance. Seriously, why do people keep submitting these?

8. STEAMPUNK AIRSHIP - Not a chance.

9. TALES OF THE SPACE AGE - Would make a good little set. Lego might give it some consideration because it looks 18+.

10. THE KIT-CAT CLOCK - Very slight chance because of 18+ trend, but almost no chance.

11. SANTA'S COTTAGE - No way, Lego already has a Winter Village set planned.

12. MACH PATROL - I assume this is based on an old show I've never heard of. If it's somehow massively popular, maybe. Otherwise no.

13. THE POLAR EXPRESS - Would make a nice collector's set. Not happening.

14. LEGO INSECTS - Maybe. Similar to the Birds set, but I honestly don't know.

15. BOEING 747 COCKPIT - No way this gets made.

16. SHERLOCK HOLMES 221B BAKER STREET - I would love this set. Will never get made.

17. ADVENTURE BOX - Interesting concept, but a better MOC than a set.

18. WUPPERTALER SCHWEBEBAHN/WUPPERTAL SUSPENSION RAILWAY - Neat, but way too little general audience appeal.

19. HANGING FLOWERS - Cool idea, and would fit well with Lego's 18+ direction, but may conflict with their official plants line.

20. POLAROID ONESTEP SX-70 - I give this one a 50/50.

21. THE OPERA - Modular MOC, not a chance.

22. LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE 16V RALLY CAR - No.

23. CASTLE OF BRICKWOOD FOREST - Probably not.

24. GILMORE GIRLS HOUSE - If Lego redesigns this as a sitcom interior set, 100%. If not, no way.

25. ALADDIN: FRIEND LIKE ME - Maaaaybe, but most likely not.

26. THE MARKET VILLAGE - Probably not.

27. AIR JORDAN 1 - Before the official Adidas shoe set, I would have said not a chance. Now, I honestly don't know.

28. MAGICAL VILLAGE OVER THE BRIDGE - Neat MOC. Not a chance.

29. THE LEGEND OF THE SEA SERPENT - Awesome build and idea, would make a great set. Probably not happening.

30. THE ORIENT EXPRESS - Less likely than Polar Express.

31. THE NOTTING HILL MARKET - Is this an old Brititsh show I've never heard of? Most likely not happening.

32. PNEUMATIC STEAM LOCOMOTIVE - Not a chance.

33. FARM LIFE - Not a chance.

34. SATISFACTORY CONSTRUCTOR - Not a chance.

35. LIVING ON THE EDGE - Cool MOC, but not a chance.

36. LEGO MINERALS - Most likely no.

37. CHIP 'N DALE - Unless Lego wants to tie into that bizarre reboot, no way.

38. ANTIQUE CASH REGISTER - Cool MOC, not a chance.

39. JULES VERNE'S NAUTILUS - Not a chance.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

The Opera is really gorgeous. I tend not to like fan-made modulars as much as the originals, but this one captures a level of class typically associated with those venues. Too bad no modular ever made it, even the superb Museum, but if one has to I hope this is the one...

Gravatar
By in United States,

LMAO at the UCS toilet

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Well, let's have a look
2. THE LEGENDARY CONCORDE: take my money!
3. MINI CITY DIORAMA: LONDON WITH UNDERGOUND STATION: interestingly, I already have that one! Well, almost. Just google "Loz 1031 Shanghai Subway Station". Considering that has been available for a while I'm not entirelely sure who "inspired" who, but if I had to guess..... I'm starting to feel bad about it.
(though have to say, that one from Loz looks even better than this...)
4. THE LEGO TOILET: that's one shitty set....
6. WILD WEST MINE: looks great, though I feel it should be bigger.
8. STEAMPUNK AIRSHIP: very nice!
9. TALES OF THE SPACE AGE: almost doesn't look like Lego anymore, but I like it!
10. THE KIT-CAT CLOCK: interesting...
14. LEGO INSECTS: fun little builds
15. BOEING 747 COCKPIT: probably rather sticker-heavy, but I love it!
18. WUPPERTALER SCHWEBEBAHN: love it, though it really needs to be elevated to make it work.
19. HANGING FLOWERS: how original....
22. LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE 16V RALLY CAR: looks absolutely stunning, but those stickers will be a problem, and will look terrible with gaps all around them.
27. AIR JORDAN 1: again, how original....
28. MAGICAL VILLAGE OVER THE BRIDGE: that's just nice....
29. THE LEGEND OF THE SEA SERPENT: very cool!
30. THE ORIENT EXPRESS: take my money!
32. PNEUMATIC STEAM LOCOMOTIVE: the design can use some work, but I absolutely LOVE the idea! Absolute buy for me.
34. SATISFACTORY CONSTRUCTOR: what the....
36. LEGO MINERALS: not a set for me, but I do feel this could be a thing for Lego.
38. ANTIQUE CASH REGISTER: absolutely gorgeous, but with so many gold laquered pieces? I have a bad feeling about that....
39. JULES VERNE'S NAUTILUS: very cool and well executed idea!

And again several sets that are great MOCs but just not very original ideas, and unlikely to get picked.

They are the most popular music group in the entire world. Their main fan base consists of several massive demographics that do not use this website, namely teenagers and specifically girls, which is why many people here didn’t recognize them. I assure you, though, enough people will that the set makes sense as a business proposition, much the same as Friends.

Based on past experience nothing I want will get selected, and even if it does, I won't see for 2 years. Oh well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They've got to raise the threshold of votes, I think. 39 is ridiculous.

Gravatar
By in United States,

THE FORESTMEN SECRET INN by FACEBRICKUP I missed out on Castle in the Forest, so this would be a fun alternative!

STEAMPUNK AIRSHIP by BrickHammer love steampunk, but this doesn't feel greebled enough for me

TALES OF THE SPACE AGE by john_carter is just gorgeous. I'd love a full theme of these!

LEGO INSECTS by hachiroku24 This set might bug a few people, but it's crawled its way into my heart.

ADVENTURE BOX by Homo Brickus Love the way this opens. Wonder what LEGO will put inside it if it passes?

CASTLE OF BRICKWOOD FOREST by poVoq Castle in the Forest really deserved a full release didn't it.

THE MARKET VILLAGE by Commander Brick Love medieval villages, but hope it'd be smaller or cheaper

THE LEGEND OF THE SEA SERPENT by jackotrebel & rebeljackot I'm a sucker for sea serpents, but Creator this year's got me covered

SATISFACTORY CONSTRUCTOR by NerdyLegoist Man I haven't seen anything form Satisfactory since it came out, but it was so freakin' cool! Personally I'm more of a Subnautica guy, but I'd still buy this in a heartbeat

LEGO MINERALS by ddf72 Steven Universe has filled me with a love for all things rock and crystal. Would be fun desk toys!

JULES VERNE'S NAUTILUS by Seb_E See now this feels a bit more steampunk for me. The inner workings of the engine at the back are a delight

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Loving the creativity and variety here, but it is quite clear that Lego needs to step up the BL Designer program both in volume and hence hopefully prices to cover this market in a more sustainable way for all parties.

Or maybe extend Ideas with crowdsourcing “fund a designer” to make the process scale after seelction

Gravatar
By in United States,

A set based on Satisfactory is interesting, considering the game is still in early access.
Now that I think about it, I still need to play Satisfactory. And Factorio. And Astroneer. And any of those other games inspired by old Minecraft tech mods.

Polar express or lancia I'd buy
The mine I like and would possibly get
The Orient express I worry would be too pricey for me but looove it

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I would like to see CH-CH-CH-CHIP 'N DALE: RESCUE RANGERS! as a ideas set. Not so big not so expensive and pretty nostalgic to me ;)

Gravatar
By in Germany,

None of the above

That is, there are some that I might consider buying should they pass the review, but none gets me really excited I have to say (which is not to say that I can't appreciate skill or creativity here).

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Maybe they won’t pick anything this round?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oooh, I do like that Tales of the Space Age one. That very retro Art Deco look is a good way of using Lego’s blockiness to your advantage, I like how elegant they end up looking

Gravatar
By in Germany,

There's not a single really crappy one this time.
So I predict LEGO will greenlight ...
None of them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The 3 medieval sets, sea serpent and magical village are the only ones I’d buy. First preference to any of the medieval ones, forest men secret inn, castle of brickwood forest, market village

Gravatar
By in United States,

A lot of impressive builds this time through. The Aladdin set, the two Christmas sets (especially the bridge; great idea!) and the Space Age artwork would be my top 4. Also really like the mine cart (although liked the earlier IDEAS version with additional track more) and the 30 and 32 trains. But for what I'd say LEGO will produce? That would be the insects.

The funny thing is, I remember when the Adventure Time set was released and I doubted the feasibility, people told me that it was one of the most popular kids' TV shows on the planet and would sell like hotcakes.
In the end I bought two from our local LEGO store for 60% off as parts packs when they desperately tried to get rid of them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am of the mindset that LEGO needs up the number of votes required. Too many qualify and not very many pass.

Some neat builds here for sure. Talented people. But how many will really get picked?

Nothing really striking my fancy too much this time around. I mean, I like some of them obviously, but do I like them enough to give them a share of my limited LEGO budget? That's the real question.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@AustinPowers if Adventure Time had been figures instead of those weird brick built monstrosities, I think it would have sold much much better. I did end up getting a few of the AT sets at a discount also, but partially because it is my favorite show and I needed extra for my daughter since she really liked it also.

If LEGO ever wants to revisit AT, I am here for it.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Insects or Minerals seem to be those typical display objects that might pass.

Polaroid would be the only thing that might have a slight chance, but cash register and shoe are too similar to adidas shoe/typewriter imo.

Castle sets most likely won't have a chance right now.

And there is a winter related chalet set in upcoming bricklink designer program.

Rumours of a UCS Hogwarts train will make it hard competition for the 3 steam locomotives.

3-in-1 will release an octopus and a sea serpent in new sets, friends released colored houses , City has a farm, Minecraft a Barn, many of those similar IDEAS are very unlikely.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Again a lot of variations on what has already been done or what Lego is currently doing.

As in previous rounds, my guess will be: none of these. I won't be far off!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Fingers crossed on the Mine and the Airship!

Although, if I had to bet, I think that the Koala and the Insects will most likely win. The Cash Register and the Cat Clock, on the other hand, feel like Ideas sets worthy to the name, so those are the wild cards for me!

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

My money’s on Insects. Cash register is beautiful though

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Oh man I love that Concorde!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

So many great builds but by the standards and guiderails for how they choose have no chance to be selected. Anything that requires the company to negotiate with the license or copyright holders is also a barrier.

Insects and the Koala look like the most likely. Though that UCS toilet set I suspect would sell better than the community would suspect as the ultimate Christmas novelty gift for the discerning hard to buy for recipient.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If I had to narrow it down I’d go with Aladdin. Looks like a fun set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Some nice looking projects, but I can't help but feel I'll end up disappointed by what they end up choosing lol.
Hoping for the bugs!

Gravatar

I would buy the Orient Express in a heartbeat... that pretty much guarantees it isn't gonna get made.

No, it is the Portobello Road, just a famous road in a famous city.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So this is the London, trains, steampunk and castle/mediaeval review is it?

So many of the non-licenced projects are derivatives of existing sets and themes. Between the modulars, steam locomotives (I think if they want to do trains for adults they can come up with the idea of a steam loco in house), castle-y buildings and everything else that LEGO can do perfectly well without fan input, what's left seems very improbable (toilet, koalas, insects and minerals).

I don't have a problem with the toilet, it's quite funny in my opinion, but I really can't see them making it. Imagine the press release - solve your constipation issues caused by stress by relaxing while building your own model toilet. No more need for bran cereal and prunes when you've got LEGO to help.

I love the London Underground diorama but I don't think it has any real chance unfortunately.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If anyone's actually looked at the UCS Toilet, they put a lot of thought into it--it has functional inner workings. It's kind of amazing. Besides the usual fare of coat-tail riders and sitcoms, there are some nice ones here. My picks are the Tales of Space Age (I don't see it happening) or the Clock (no idea how Lego will go on this one). Honestly, I've still got left-over excitement from the Jazz Combo being selected.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is getting silly. I love Lego ideas and there have been some amazing sets come to market but with this many in review at once and them only selecting maybe one or two, so many good ideas go unreleased. There’s got to be a better way to deal with the growth of ideas.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Koala and/or insects will probably get selected, though I'd love to see the Kit Cat Clock myself. Uncanny how the sea serpent set is in this set of projects while we just got the Creator one announced.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I have a feeling it will be the Koala that will be selected, and I’m all for that!

I am in American high school and I haven't heard discussion of Adventure Time outside of niche circles for years. The day after the Grammy Awards show, I heard extensive discussion of BTS's performance. Even beyond my anecdotal experience, the cultural reach of BTS now far exceeds that of Adventure Time, even at the latter's peak (which was well before the set released). Plus, that set had no minifigures, whereas I'm certain the BTS set will, which'll be a huge draw.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My guess is that Tales of the Space Age will be approved, because it is unique in style and crosses the boundary into art for adults - something TLG is doing a lot of these days.

The Concorde would be great, but there is a competing property from Cobi that might already have the license. Though, that was also true of the Titanic.

The Air Jordans look great but won’t be approved while the competing partnership with Adidas is alive.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Castle of Brickwood Forest and the Forestmen Secret Inn are my two favorites, but I'm not too optimistic about them being chosen.

LEGO Koala is cute and matches LEGO's aesthetic for Creator sets pretty well. I think they're not particularly likely to choose it, though, as they'd probably prefer to develop their own 3-in-1 set with a simpler version of the Koala.

Magical Village Over the Bridge is great! I'm not sure they'd want an Ideas set competing with their own annual holiday set but I'd love to see this in place of the usual winter village set.

The Legend of the Sea Serpent is beautiful but looks too fiddly and delicate for an official product. Making it sturdy would probably destroy most of the charm so I think they'll pass on it.

Living on the Edge is a nice idea but I can't see them releasing something that can't be displayed on a flat surface. (I suppose that overhanging corner section could be redesigned as an optional add-on, but it would most likely end up large and clunky and probably not worthwhile.) I doubt this would be chosen to go into production.

One would think Lego is seriously considering changing the Ideas program in some significant way. It seems untenable - and not great for their business - in the long term for fan designers and voters to keep creating and voting for sets that by and large Lego cannot or will not produce.

By in Canada,

LOTS of very desirable set in this round - I usually don't even care any more cause what I want never get selected - but this round has so many good ones, I'm almost guaranteed that at least one of them will be selected. My wish list, in order:

1- Pneumatic Steam Locomotive (first Technic-ish idea set - pneumatic parts in other colours)
2- The Orient Express (a properly well done train)
3- The Notting Hill Market (Would look nice in any city - better if you ever seen the real thing)
4- Castle of Brickwood Forest (Even better than the the one on Bricklink program)
5- The opera (unlikely since they don't seem willing to do modular ideas)
6- Jules Verne Nautilus

Honourable mentions (in any order): Concorde, Library, Polar Express, Market Village.
I would also like the Lego minerals as it would fulfil all my needs for trans-clear parts.

Of course most of them are unlikely but out of 11, hopefully one will be made...

Or maybe, that could be used as a list of things that will absolutely not be made because that is usually the case with my want list...

As an aviation enthusiast, I really hope the Concorde makes it through, or even the 747 Cockpit. LEGO doesn't seem to make as many real life aircraft, apart from the Boeing 787 a long while ago.

The Steam Locomotive also looks pretty cool.

Nothing to get excited about tbh

By in United States,

Honestly these all look great and I would probably buy more than half of them... I really hope at least one of the trains gets picked. They're all fantastic, but the Polar Express looks like the best candidate to me. Favorite set that I definitely wouldn't buy is the polaroid. It looks great but I don't need it for my collection and that money is better put elsewhere.

By in United States,

Just had a chance to check these out. The Wild West Mine is a dream set for me. It likely will remain a dream, however it’s really well done.

Hopefully a deluxe steam train in some form will eventually come to market. The Orient Express is phenomenal!

Great mocs these guys should sell instrutions for them so we can all build them.

I want so many of these. But I got to go with Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers. Love that!

I hope in the Orient Express, but it will never pass the review

And again several sets that are great MOCs but just not very original ideas, and unlikely to get picked."

That's interesting. That London Idea caught my eye, although I think there is no way it will ever be made. Interesting to see that in this case the clone brick company seems to be making an original idea that's both interesting and unique?

By in United Kingdom,

Pro tip: don't treat Lego Ideas as some sort of vindication of what you think is/isn't cool. The world will not stop turning if someone buys a Lego set you don't want to buy. Wheeling out the strong emotions just makes you look a bit silly.

I think the Polaroid is quite a good candidate. It's recognisable, iconic and relatively compact.

Concorde would be nice but it's not so long since the newspapers were emblazoned with photos of one on fire. They might have made the Titanic but I can't see them making a set of a plane that had that spectacular and fatal a crash within living memory.

By in United Kingdom,

The Library and The Opera are superb, but as modular buildings will not be selected. These are better than most of the official Lego modular buildings. It does mean we shall now never have an official library or opera house in the modular range if the idea is rejected here.

I'd buy any of the castle/medieval sets but, again, none will be selected.

I like the idea of the Nautilus but only if it was based on the Disney film version. I would certainly buy a Concorde but only if Lego improved the accuracy in the final model.

Some have questioned why people submit models they know will be rejected, but the onus is really on Lego who review all submissions before they are made available for supporting to ensure they have followed all the rules. If they allow a model to be uploaded and supported when they know it will never pass the final review stage then Lego are to blame for the high level of disappointment every review round.

Polaroid seems possible, given Lego’s interest in brick-built takes on retro hardware. Insects seems the most likely of the remaining sets that don’t require a license and has some lovely builds.

Personally, I’d buy Tales of the Space Age and suspect Lego could simplify the back and drop the piece count a bit.

Please please may there be buildable Lego money notes inside the. Ash register?!

By in United Kingdom,

The trains have all appeared before so not hopeful, even though there is wide appeal, possibly as easy enough for Lego to do themselves. The Lego underground station would make a great souvenir for tourists visiting the London Lego shop.

My wife, a big Gilmore Girls fan, pointed out that most of the show took place in the town, or at the grandparents’ house. I hen she saw the Idea, she said, “Oh that would be fun. Not sure why I need their house, though.”

As for me, nostalgia is strong for the Forestmen, and that set is a nice, reasonable size. Not silly huge, and not ridiculously complex.

So it’ll probably be the Jordans that get picked.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I've given up on predicting. In the early years I had a reasonable idea of what might make it through but I've been totally wrong in recent years.
I'd love to see Orient Express, especially if they can stretch it to more than one carriage, but I don't have much hope.

By in United States,

don't understand the BTS references in this comment thread - was there a set this round that got pulled? i don't see anything even close to k-pop or boy bands in this lineup . . . .

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Some amazing sets - I'd be very interested in any of: the insects, the library, the airship and the three medieval sets (Secret Inn, Market Village and Brickwood Forest Castle), and maybe the mine.

As for what will actually be produced, I'd say Gilmore Girls for sure, and probably the shoe.

Gravatar
By in United States,

You'd think people would want an entire castle/medieval theme again… hm! /s

This wave is much better than the last one, in my opinion.
I think the insects idea is very clever and likely to succeed. I never cease to be impressed with what some people can do with Lego.

Bluebrixx already did the gold mine and it is magnificent. I really wish 29 was Gyarados instead, as Lego has licensing deals in place with Nintendo.

Maybe, maybe not. It wouldn't be the first time some Chinese company would steal an Ideas or orther MOC design, just ask Sariel about Mould King (although they seem to have changed their methods now...)..

Loz is a bit of a mixed bag, they do have quite a lot of pretty good original designs, but they definitely had some sets that were VERY similar to Lego sets. I am not aware of other sets from them that might be stolen MOCs. And I don't know when they released their Shanghai Subway Station set (were's LozBrickset.com when you need it....), but the oldest dated hit I get on Google is from late 2020....and the Ideas submission is from November 2019. So even when I don't know for sure, I do have a bad feeling about it....

Like I said before, I do think the Loz set looks better than the Ideas submission, but it would be interesting to see what the Lego designers would make of it...

I love it when AFOL comments show how much our collective heads are buried in our plastic pieces that we are oblivious to other major movements of popular culture. I admit to being largely that way in regards to video games.

BTS has had many, many major brand commercial crossovers (e.g., clothing companies (Puma) and even food (McDonald's)). They aren't really my cup of tea musically. But, many, many people adore them. I was intrigued by their Puma designs and their McDonald's meal, however.

By in United States,

Hopefully many of the unselected sets will become available later via BrickLink Designer Program, like the medieval, winter, steampunk, and many other gorgeous builds in this amazing and inspiring group. I predict Tales of Space Age and Insects will be selected.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My picks are Sherlock Holmes and Castle of Brickwood Forest.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Tales of the Space Age is probably the most beautiful Lego creation I have ever seen. Sure hope it gets picked but understandable if not. Concorde would be a great set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Realistically?

Insects. Minerals. Polaroid. That's about it.

Everything else is a MOC and not something LEGO would officially produce, which people seem to miss every time they create a project.

Gravatar

That opera house stands out the most for me. It it so gorgeous! I would buy that one instantly.
I would also love to see the Concorde as a set.

There are two steam locomotives here. TLG ought to see we're looking for a successor to the emerald night train.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I’d rather have the Mega Man set than any of these… WAIT EVEN BETTER IS ZELDA SET!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is a collection of beautiful builds, but most of them are far too large to be likely choices. (I admire the style of the Opera House and Library, but Modulars don't get picked, as we all know--and yet I go right on supporting them. Go figure....) Like so many other commenters, I think Lego Insects and Tales from the Space Age have the best chance to be approved, mostly because they are relatively small. The Kit-Cat Clock and the Polaroid Camera are also unusual and rather appealing to me, as would be a smaller version of the Adventure Box (the proposed box would surely be much more expensive than a modular!). But I really expect the verdict will be "none of the above." If so, I must admit I wouldn't grieve much.
