Random part of the day: Design Element, Back, 6X8X1, W/3.2 Shaft

I had to look this up on Bricklink to prove it wasn’t designed by M.C. Escher, and once I realized what it was, I was surprised to see what else it was used for.

Hey, kinda' the little cousin of yesterdays...really like the idea of these on the bottom of starships; but now that I think about it: airlock outer doors...just off the top of my head...:)

Bottom of starships, so the floor can drop out in case of alien attack?
