What ever this is, there are almost 14 million of them with knobs named Vert
should it be 5/3 instead of 2/3 ?
A traffic light with only two signals. Hopefully the missing one isn't the red one
@ayayop: It's not 2/3, it's 1 and 2/3.
Those knobs don't look green.
I think this is one complication of mostly having been in a dark age since I was 18. I forget all the awesome parts that have been introduced since then.
These look more seamless and solid than the headlight bricks I've been using for like forever when doing rear lights on my emergency rigs. No wonder that we have almost 15 million between us and it's only a five-year-old part--compared to other parts with really high ownership rates that also happen to be quite bread and butter basic elements.
Think I'll be adding these to my upcoming Bricks and Pieces order.

Bricks and Pieces is now called: pick-a-brick standard (as opposed to pick-a-brick bestseller which is the former pick-a-brick) and while the Lego website claims it should come back online in May it is still not yet available. In its current setup, you can buy (in Canada, ymmv) a shark body(in sand blue) but not the head that goes with it (hammerhead) this is how great the service is since they did their marvellous 'improvement' of the service. With the previous pick-a-brick and bricks and pieces they were able to provide a reasonably good/fair (albeit slow) service so, obviously they had to scrap that... Very Lego!

Don't need a red light if the whole thing's red!

The traffic light in Horizon Forbidden West 76989 uses this piece (dark blueish grey) and a headlight brick (brown) on top to make up for the third light.
@Robot99:
You laugh now, but there’s a cluster of four stoplights a few miles from where I live, all packed into maybe 1/8 mile. The south light is the main intersection. The second light is into a parking lot behind a tall building that’s right up to the sidewalk, so they didn’t want people getting pasted when they tried to turn out into traffic. The north light is a side street that leads to the police station. And the third light…. Well, one day I was approaching the third light, the middle light turned amber. Then right before I got there, the bottom light turned red. A fire engine pulled out into traffic after everyone stopped, and then the top light turned to…flashing amber. Yup, no green. I’d gone through that intersection at least a few thousand times on a flashing amber, and never noticed it was where the green light would normally be.
@cody6268:
I actually prefer headlight bricks because it sinks the taillight 1/2 plate into the body.

Funny you should mention that. I just called to ask about that yesterday, and I was told May 30. Just under the wire. The other thing I asked about was the order overview. In the past, if you had a B&P or PAB order mixed in with other stuff that had already shipped, there was a placeholder line that would show your parts order as Shipped, but a bunch of lines with element ID numbers that would show In Warehouse. They had changed it, so my entire order showed Shipped, but the individual lines no longer listed any status, so I wanted to know what was up with my Standard order (Bestseller had already arrived). The format just changed again. Now they group your parts by which warehouse they’re coming from, and every line has ship status, but they’ve also added a ship date to every line.
Wow 511 sets in a few years.
I was going to make a joke about it being a plate short of a full load, but it’s too impressive a piece to do that now.
The more bricks like this, the better. I enjoy all their variations immensely.
Thanks, Brickheadz!
If your Knobs have been Vert for more than 1x1x1 2/3 you may need to consult a specialist

I knew something I learnt at school would come in handy eventually. It's only taken 50 years. Just got to find a use for logarithms now!

Thanks for that (precision regarding the return of the service and how it would work). I have been waiting for this service to resume for a while now. My project has been on hold since they modified the service. Pick a brick bestseller does have less the 5% of the pieces I need.
@sjr60:
Just abbreviate them to logs and install a fireplace.

Same here. I got a show in three weeks, and I came up with a new idea in early April. I ordered the parts for what I originally envisioned, but figured out an improvement after Standard got paused. I don’t even have the first batch of Standard parts I need for the initial concept, and it’ll be at least the end of June before I can expect the parts I need to upgrade it. Fortunately we do lots of shows, so there will be several opportunities to show the final version before the year ends.
One of Lego's finest recent creations.
Now if only the would produce a half-height variant: the 1x1x2/3 with stud on one side. Angels would sing. Spontaneous celebrations would erupt around the globe. It would probably eventually be declared a national holiday in most countries.
