Would love a textured version of it like this : https://brickset.com/parts/design-3644
Then it could also work well in classic builds as wooden doors etc.
Ah yes, the double door. Not to be confused with the Dumbledore.
Ace part.
@TheOtherMike:
Is that his brother? I hear he defeated Saru-someone.
Ah yes, the Dumbledore.
I don't have this version yet in my collection. 60345 Farmer's Market Van will be reconfigured into an ambulance, and thus I will then have a pair. I figure these will be a lot better than the tall 3x1 doors I've been using as ambulance rear doors.
I got a few of these from the PAB wall a few weeks ago. I didn't look that close and assumed they were 4-wide. When I got home I realized they were even more valuable! And I have frames for them because I replaced the white 6-wide frames in 75969 Hogwarts Astronomy Tower with other parts.
Only one set has this in a private building (so far). Good on ya, Mia!
@MeisterDad:
Oh, wow, I think I just figured out why this door exists. Even without a door installed, doorframe 60596 isn’t ADA-compliant. I checked, and the wheels on a 24312 wheelchair just barely clear the door frame, but the axles don’t. In the US, standard doors are 30” wide, which is fine for private homes, but in order to meet ADA regulations, businesses and other public buildings need to have doors that are 36” wide. Translated into brick form, a 5-wide door would be fine, but it would be challenging to work into structures, especially if they’re symmetrical in design. A single 6-wide door would look like it was designed for horses, and double 4-wide doors would look like they were designed to drive cars onto the showroom floor of a dealership. Double 3-wide doors offer plenty of room for wheelchairs to pass through, they don’t look ridiculously wide, and an even frame width is easier to work into a building.

I tried finding like 8 of them in medium nougat for my custom build, I had to go halfway around the world!
@PurpleDave I never considered anything other than 36” wide doors when I built my house, both interior and exterior. The front door is a double wide for when I have appliances or furniture delivered. Only happens every few years but, oh so worth it.
I'm stoked that these have been popping up on the Pick-and-Build walls in retail stores. What's better than a useful new part? Rapid access to large quantities of said part! Good job LEGO
@Zoniax:
This door only exists in dark-turquoise and trans-light-blue. The only medium-nougat doors are a right-side 1x3x2 car door and a horse stable door. Are you thinking about the 4-wide version of this, maybe in dark-tan? If you’re having that much trouble in the future, and it’s a current part, you could always try online PaB. Orders for Standard and Bestseller parts will individually incur service charges if they don’t meet the minimum order, plus you’ll be paying shipping on orders under $35, but there are always to deal with all three. For something like this, I’d add the doors in the bag, see which set of parts they belong to, and just try to find enough other parts for that same category to hit the threshold to kill the service fee. At that point, you’ve got three options. Keep going until you do the same with the shipping charge, do the same thing with the other category of parts until you clear that service charge as well, or find some general merchandise to cover the balance.
@MeisterDad:
36” doors come in a lot less variety, require more of the wall, larger spaces to open without hitting stuff, and are just generally a major pain for most homes, particularly older ones (my condo was built in ‘62, so the only doors that aren’t 30” are closets and cabinets). If you’re building new, sure, go crazy. The house I grew up in had an indoor wheelchair ramp because the original owner’s daughter needed a wheelchair. And it was 30” wide because it predates the ADA, and I’m guessing they were using an older style of wheelchair that was only designed to be pushed from behind, and 36” doors probably weren’t common at the time. Especially back in those days, larger doors meant more heat loss in the winter.
@PurpleDave: Wheelchair users were calling LEGO out about that issue not too long ago and LEGO's social media team responded. Guess this was the result.
I suppose this piece has helped Lego builders and opened them up to so many possibilities ;)

You jest but ‘dumbledor’ (no ‘e’) appeared in Tolkien’s works long before Rowling was born. He didn’t invent the name but didn’t claim to either. Rowling says she drew inspiration from the same source as Tolkien, not from Tolkien directly. You can believe her if you want to.
I have being waiting ages for a decent van and truck container door as in 60321, previously just too short like part 3191 in 3221.
I bought a few of the frames these doors go into from the PAB wall, but my local brand store didn't have the doors in stock. I'll hafta go back and check if The Doors are in.
Couldn't come up with The Doors pun. Anyone?
@Zander:
Let me see what Timothy Hunter thinks, and I’ll get back to you, okay?
@LuvsLEGO_Cool_J:
But there’s only one here…
The original Dumbledor actually got his name while desperately trying to keep a horde of possessed dumbbells from breaching a door under his gym.

The net worth of each of the Lego Friends must be insane.

You're right, I was thinking about this one:
6058086: GLASS DOOR FOR FRAME 1X4X6
Available in plain old "nougat"!
@yellowcastle:
They say the only word he could utter at that point was “dumbledor”, but those who knew him had no idea what it meant…
@Zoniax:
Ah, so only available in TBBT and The Simpsons house, and out of production for several years. No wonder you had such trouble getting even eight of them. Dark-tan would probably be a lot easier, especially since it’s available on PaB.
