There are some nice turn-of-the-decade (aughts into teens) four-wide vehicles that use this piece, but despite that, I can't help disliking it for some reason. Is it too "Cars" maybe?
I appreciate that they found some inventive uses for this outside of the Cars series. I recall an awesome Chima gorilla mech that used these in its armor.
Blue rose petal, neat.
@Formendacil:
Not enough “works with 6-wide”. I think the only Cars parts I used when making my minifig-scale Cars characters were printed mouths, the Rusteze tile, Mater’s door panel tiles, and the Rod “Torque” Redline license plate sticker. Orange and Lime mouths were only available as 1x4x2/3 double curved slopes, so Grem and Acer look like they have dimples.

2013 city flatbed tow truck also used this.
So... this particular piece doesn't seem to be from Cars, though it's obviously similar to such pieces. The only uses are in 41456 and 80103.

The mold was created for Cars, but there was always a face painted on it, so other themes are the only source for unprinted ones which are cataloged separately from printed.
Great part.
A very similar part is used in mass as flowers instead of cars as well :

12 in 1 set : 10280 : Flower Bouquet

I just checked, there is a very similar mold used often in the cars theme, but from what I can tell this specific mold was never used in it.
@Monopoly:
Okay, parts 93597, 98835, 93587, and 30839 were definitely created for Cars. 18051pb001 was introduced in 2014 for 40912, followed in 2016 by 18051pb002 in 71244. Those appear to be the only two printed versions, and the only two unprinted versions are from 2018 and 2019. So yeah, it’s a very Cars-style hood that was first used in the five year gap between Cars 2 and Cars 3. Weird.
