The BrickLink-link in the article gives an error message: "Uh oh! We couldn't match "29084" with any items listed."

@Chilis_no:
64424c01, 91968c01, or 29085c01 is what Bricklink calls this, depending on which variant we’re looking at. Probably the last one (Type 3) because they’re consecutive numbers.

I need to get some of these to convert the Hogwarts train to work with everything else.

Moving trains with your bare knuckles will do that to you!

How does this buff a train? Where is the universal attachment point for a rotary tool?

The buffers were already useless for non-European prototypes and 8-wide European. Then they took away the free magnets, making it impossible to build good train MOCs with production Lego bricks.

By in Singapore,

LEGO customer service sent me some of these for free along with metal axles, wheels and wheel holders because they don't otherwise ship to my country so I couldn't buy them through B&P and stuff. I'm gonna have to start BrickLinking more eventually, since 60198 is on its way out and I don't think I can afford to buy one just to hold on to for the parts (even though it's been available for more than 40% off a couple of times).

Brickset members own over half a million of these!
That surprised me. Should it have?
