Let's all welcome the Pink Crown faction!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

No animals in a "normal" series for the first time in years :(

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Another costume series =/

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why are 5 of the minifigures Christmas themed?

Gravatar
By in United States,

nutcracker, turkey, and snowman are big highlights

Gravatar
By in United States,

These look fun.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This might be my least favourite non-licensed series in the theme's history.

I’d say a good seven of them are Christmas (or at least winter) themed. Maybe they’re doing a “costume party” theme again like they did for the 10th anniversary

Gravatar
By in Latvia,

Knight looks good, with the exception of short legs... Snow globe looks interesting... Everything else is just... bad...
IMHO

It was here since yellow castle. also its Magenta :D

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I will probably get the ferry captain on Bricklink and that's about it. I can appreciate how nice some of the other ones are but they just aren't for me.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Good to see a knight again, old decal is a nice touch.
Snowglobe looks great.
Captain is a great fig, ship might be nice for microbuilds.
Animals seems a bit overkill, green dragon looks very much like the red one.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Cardboard Robot is easily my favorite, but like I said in that earlier topic, it would have been even better if it was a Lego Danbo!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

It’s a lot of minifigs in (animal) suits these days

Gravatar
By in United States,

I thought the popcorn boy was wearing a peruke :P (a judge wig or George Washington hair)

Because June is practically Christmas... Tree should be up by now!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hard pass, looks like it's time to catch up on some of the ones I missed from past series that are more interesting to me than this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I need the Knight and all the Christmas ones! I like this series.

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

Only interesting to me is popcorn guy and Ferry captain, without ferry

They know that those of us with big Christmas villages must get them. Would've been a perfect opportunity for a baby reindeer/Rudolph.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hmm... only the nutcracker, sea captain, and dragon are "for-sure" purchases for me, but I'm still happy to have another "normal" series, and I need to budget for the 90th anniversary castle so I'm okay with this. Might get the elf just for her snow globe.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Going to get me as many of those knights as possible.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Do wish they could've reintroduced the visor from the yellow castle or a close approximation of it. I've been curious for a while if the original is compatible with the new "classic space" helmets introduced with Lego Movie 2, but don't own any to check.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Yorick It'll be kind of like a watermark, so it's obvious if the image is stolen I would think.

I like these. Mostly they won't be useful in my city but they're cute.

Gravatar
By in Romania,

I'm going to get the Knight, Green Dragon, Robot, Elf and Nutcracker. Maybe the Captain too if he has a nice suit under that ship.

That’s interesting, because this is the first series where I’m interested in each one.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Nice ones! I`ll take them all (as usual) :)

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Cool set of figures.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, people seem down on these. Personally, I love them all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

love love love all of these!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

These are nice.

I have been hoping for more colour variations of the Super Warrior.
Perhaps in the next wave.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want them all! Least favorites are the Fairy, Popcorn Guy & Ferry Captain but I'll probably be getting at least two of most of them. Looking forward to individual pictures of all of them.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Definitely want the Popcorn guy, robot and knight. The is useless Christmas crap.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have been focusing on the costumed collectible minifigures. Looks like I might as well buy a box this time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Boring. How is this theme still around? Ok, b/c people will buy them. But it's getting stale and many ideas reused. Why not just do series 1 and reverse all genders...

To be more serious, why not a series of castle figures?

Gravatar
By in United States,

As much as I generally like the 1 or 2 costumes we get each series, an entire series of costumes AGAIN is really way too much. For those that like to use the CMF's in our cities and displays this many costumes gets weird. So far the only display idea I have is a Furry convention. Which as an added bonus would let me useda ton of the Robo Swat figures from The Lego Movie. Plus a couple of net cannons.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Snowman and the reindeer is a must have for me! Nice little array of figures in this series

did the color really need to be disputed?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Definitely wanting to grab a good amount of those Crown knights!

Little disappointed in the ship captain, thought it'd be a pirate captain. Oh well, no big deal :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

So we have the Yellow Castle Knight; "and the rest..."
(...are here on Gilligan's Isle)

Gravatar
By in United States,

they are running out of ideas, everything except for the Christmas ones are just redesigns, repeats, or very similar to old figures.

this could be the last numbered series.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Is it just me or are they getting weirder?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not too bad of a selection, even if I'm not a huge fan of costumed figures. The Knight, Snowman, and Nutcracker are the highlights for me, and the Green Dragon isn't bad. Wish the Wolf Costume guy had a better headpiece that could have made him double as a werewolf.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The costume figures never had a special appeal to me, but the five (!) Christmas characters are pretty enticing. The Snowman and Nutcracker definitely feel long overdue as Minifigure concepts, as is the candy cane piece. I also think I need the robot costume as someone who had one as a kid.

Maybe this series was why the GWP Cardboard Adventures set didn't include the robot!!!

Also, if pink is the series color, then I can just say... *finally*. Pink and purple have been waiting for years while we got repeats of yellow, green, blue, and grey for no reason.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally! A non-PTSD inducing snowman!!!

Who celebrates Christmas? At least I don't.

Gravatar
By in France,

At last Lego makes green wings for my Cthulhu fig :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Will have to get the turkey for sure. Imported from Maine, ideally.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I want the cardboard robot, the wolf, the knight, the dragon and possibly the snowman

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Soddit. I'll just have to make another display case.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I feel like they should have made it a full Christmas series. Costume minifigures aren's my favorite, so I won't be getting a full series this time.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Wow, this is the best non-licensed CMF set I've seen in awhile! I love almost all of these. Can't wait for individual closeup pictures!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think multiples of the ship Captain's torso are in order. One for every officer on the Titanic, as it's quite clearly Captain Smith. Then, you'd need a copy of 10294 to put them in front of.

I can't help but hear him saying: "well Mr. Murdoch, let's stretch her legs!"

Gravatar
By in United States,

Scrolling down the main page I saw the knight and thought maybe this wave would tie directly to the 90th sets.
Disappointed to be wrong, and that the knight has short legs, but I do like most of the figures. Will get the snowman and knight for sure (and find some adult legs for the knight).

As for the repetition people complain about, there are plenty of kids in their LEGO prime who were to young 5-6 years ago...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Captain Highliner must have been hit hard by the times to take on a ferry job.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Huge missed opportunity with the 90th anniversary; in my opinion. I was hoping for castle, pirates, space men, classic city figs, and others (johnny thunder/aquanauts/time cruisers... etc).

Gravatar
By in United States,

My wallet will appreciate this series.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I appreciate The Addams Family Values Pugsley!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I love the cute, wacky look of all these minifigures - they seem to be a staple of every minifigure series.

However, I wish they didn't fill an entire theme with these minifigures, as they have very specific looks and are not as versatile as other minifigures within the theme.

I liked the Space Police minifigure from last year because it was army buildable!

Gravatar
By in Austria,

I'm a bit disappointed. Only 1 is suitable for my city layout.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh man, if that little holiday elf didn't have the red collar printed on the torso, that torso piece would be 100% perfect for a Toon Link minifigure.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Love that we finally have a reasonable looking snowman!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not bad. I do wish they made a Rat King to go with the Nutcracker, though.
Not sure I'll get any of these. Maybe the Turkey guy to display for Thanksgiving. Otherwise, I think I'm good on Christmas related figures (except maybe snowman, I like him) and the rest don't do much for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why would they put a woman in a knight's costume?

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's strange to see so many negative comments on these. I don't know that I'll be picking up any for myself, but my kids are going to love them! There are lots of fun little details, but I think my favorite is the brick-built snow globe.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Need more Halloweeny and Monsters... Christmas has more than enough support with Winter Village.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Yay for a decent snowman minifig, after all these years of advent calendars !

Gravatar
By in Germany,

i mean, two costume fis per series seems like a rational ratio. So did they waste ideas for later in this series? Does it mean they're out of ideas and from next year on we'll only get one licensed series per year?

Gravatar
By in United States,

The popcorn guy is not holding any popcorn? At least they could cast the ‘ice cream’ element 6254 in pale yellow if not giving us another version of a popcorn carton brick or another instance of the current design.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm going to have to get hold of a Knight, especially as there's a tie-in (matching shield) with 10305 - which I simply have to accept I cannot resist buying.

My wallet is grateful this series that none of the others interest me too much.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Knight, Dragon, Reindeer, Robot, Elf, and Fairy are all female
Turkey, Wolf, Popcorn, Nutcracker, and Captain are all male.
Assuming the Snowman is also male (no eyelashes, lipstick, skirt, or other signifiers, plus a top hat, so it’s a reasonable assumption), that makes a 50/50 split. Is this the first CMF wave with gender parity?

@jjr_2009:
I used the 2pc bubble helmet to make a snowman snowglobe years ago, so it doesn’t have nearly as much impact on me.

@Minifig_Jez:
There was one good SW snowman with a printed face that included a carrot. Unfortunately, it stayed exclusive to that set, so if you wanted multiples, you had to clear our Advent Calendars, or try to buy that day’s set on the secondary market. The first HPAC also had a decent one, even if it had no face. I’m kinda leaning towards using this head with an Advent body, as this looks more like Frosty’s cousin.

@jkb:
Currently, they’ve been doing two licensed themes with one numbered wave that matched the year of release for a few years:
2021 - DC, S21, HP2
2020 - S20, Looney Tunes, Marvel
2019 - TLM2, Disney 2, S19
2018 - TLBM2, S18, HP1
2017 - TLBM1, S17, TLNM

And you have to go back to 2016 with S15, Disney 1, and S16 to get two numbered sets in the same calendar year. Frankly, I’d have preferred another licensed wave to keep the series numbering matched to the year.

This also isn’t the first time they’ve done a full costumed series. S14 was all Halloween costumes (or, technically, one costume and the rest were actual monsters), and except for the two birthday kids, the Vintage Police Officer, and possibly the dude jumping out of the cake (unless he was dressed as a cake), S18 was all costumes as well.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@PurpleDave I know. There's nothing wrong with a thematically consistent costume theme. I just wanted to point out that making half of the wave costumes looks very much like the end of original ideas. The rest was pure speculation.

@Ridgeheart Be aware that asexuality is defined by the lack of desire for any sexual interaction. Did you mean genderlessness?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Some great costumes and Christmas themed figs are a favorite of mine. I’m going to need a handful of the Nutcracker, Snowman, Reindeer, knight, and a couple of Popcorn guys. Definitely getting all the rest except the Wolf. I’m on the fence about the Sugarplum fairy; I don’t love it but want that candy cane. More accessories would have sealed my interest.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Ridgeheart:
It’s not a standard carrot, and likely dual-molded into the head. But in minifig terms, since Pirates introduced alternate faces, eyelashes and lipstick have been two constant signifiers of female gender. You can even determine age by eyelashes, as seen on the girl in the fairy princess costume, where her eyelashes are barely evident.

The opposite can therefore be inferred. Since they always use eyelashes, and often lipstick, to denote females, the lack of both indicates a male (except where classic smileys are concerned). Also, it’s a snowman, not a snowperson.

@jkb:
Considering this is the first year since 2016 which will see two numbered series, and the size of each release has been reduced from 16 to 12 in that time, I wouldn’t worry too much. They may well have a backlog of ideas for non-licensed minifigs, seeing as how they’ve gone from designing 48 original minifigs per year to one quarter that amount. The question is if they’re releasing two numbered sets this year because they don’t have a second licensed theme lined up, or if it’s because one dozen original minifigs per year isn’t enough.

And “asexual” originally referred to reproduction methods like fission (bacteria), budding (Mogwai that get wet), or fragmentation (earthworms that are cut in half). It was borrowed into the other definition, where it’s more a psychological state of someone who may still be physically capable of reproduction.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Agree that the captain is definitely a rendition of Captain Smith of the RMS Titanic. No doubt many will display this minifig with the larger model.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well I think they are great!

I’m not looking at resell value or unique parts, I’m just looking at them aesthetically and they make me smile…

Anything, in these times, that brings a smile to my face is a big thumbs up from me.

From a easily pleased AFOL and CMF collector.
