Sanctum Santorum now I have to buy the Bugle set to go with it LOL

By in United Kingdom,

Retro sets all the way! But I will need to set something aside for October with Avatar. Decisions decisions.

By in United States,

Sanctum

Galaxy Explorer is the top set for me. The price isn't completely crazy. Every piece is put to good use. The design is great. The play features are outstanding.

By in Germany,

76218 Sanctum Sanctorum.

By in United States,

Maybe make a poll for which set you’re most looking forward to? 10497 for me.

Gravatar
By in Taiwan,

Count me in for the Galaxy Explorer, fabulous set at a very decent price! Otherwise mostly pretty good sets, just not something I would buy.

Gravatar
By in United States,

10305 and 75337 bringing it in for my two all time favorite Lego themes!

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

A lot of interesting sets but I’d go for Galaxy explorer. Looks great and doesn’t cost a fortune and a half.

While the castle looks good too, the size and price takes away some of the alleged nostalgia it’s supposed to give, in my opinion. It didn’t have to be that big or detailed. Just a slightly bigger version (and make it retro) of the creator castle, with more minifigs would be enough of me

By in United States,

I'm going with the Lion Knight's Castle. Galaxy Explorer is nice & will go on the wishlist. Sanctum Sanctorum looks pretty interesting so it's a maybe but I have the one from a few years ago. The Avatar set is interesting but there's so much other stuff coming that I want.

By in Norway,

One 10305 Lion Knights' Castle and at least two copies of the 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum and 10497 Galaxy Explorer + the CMF 23 should do it. It`s a good day for LEGO fans! :)

By in United States,

Galaxy Explorer is day 1 for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Castle and the Galaxy Explorer are nearly the same price per part in the USA. Both are absolutely necessary for me.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

The Lion Knights Castle is the only one I'm buying as soon as it's available.

Then eventually the Sanctorum and the Galaxy Explorer.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

10305 Lion Knights' Castle is a must have, but I have no idea how to budget for it…

@Brickmasterboy - I agree with your comment, a smaller version might have been more appropriate. I wonder what they envisioned the market would be for this - only AFOLs with deep pockets? Just seems like the price will limit the market…

Nevertheless, a truly beautiful set that I hope to acquire!

By in Canada,

Before today, I would've said the castle set, but Galaxy Explorer is so good that I, for the first time in forever, felt the need to own day one. I can't stop looking at the pictures. That they priced it OK and opened pre-orders is the icing on the cake.

I still want the castle, and will get it down the road, but I'm not in a rush.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those LEGO folks, they're smart making these sets compatible with the modular buildings....now I have to get the Daily Bugle and Sanctum Sanctorum.

Gravatar
By in United States,

haven't seen the bad batch yet
but I know that once I do I will love the justifier

at-te might be a buy for me if goes on sale

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Avatar, AT-TE, Justifier and that would be it even though I may buy Daily Bugle and the new Sanctum.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The castle missed the mark in a few places to me, that said it is nonetheless my most anticipated set.

That's a LOT of stuff. I like it all! Lego producing more than ever. Is this sustainable? Will AFOLs, newbies, and kids sustain this level of product design and prices? Or, is this a peak before the downturn?

That said, I bought the Explorer today to get another Hideout.

By in United States,

Thank you Brickset for reporting on all these announcements!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Two castles, 1 galaxy explorer, and 1 sanctum. Wallet is going to be hurting this year.
Please don’t release more original Jurassic park sets with a Jeep and brachiosaurus or I’ll have to pull a second mortgage on the house.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I won't be buying any, but everything looked great, and I'm happy for those who got what they wanted! :D

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Had no interest in the castle, but honestly thought it was amazing. So that's now on the wish list. The Justifier definitely, the AT-TE and Galaxy Explorers are maybes.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

They definitely upped their game compared to last year. And people say they don't listen... That's a lot of sets aimed at AFOLs, and maybe even a strategy to make people forget about the price hikes.

By in Ireland,

"So what was the secret password?"

CAKE.
You get access to some images and colouring sheets. One of the wallpaper-type pictures is a blueprint of the new castle.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is it safe to assume they slammed it out of the park here? I mean wow!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

AT-TE and galaxy explorer…..and I’m already over my lego budget for this year……wallet….hurts…

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Castle is amazing, Explorer also. They’re on the list. Can’t forget the rumoured Chevrolet Camaro Creator Expert too. That’s the Lego budget burst for another year!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I didn’t catch Lego Con this year as we went to watch Queen/Adam Lambert at the o2 which rightly too priority…. Wasn’t there mention in the build up about a VIP code being given during that would unlock a reward? Or am i making that up?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Given the price increases coming in August, I may have to pick just one for a Day One purchase. In that case, 75337 AT-TE is my pick. Not only is it a new rendition of a fairly prominent vehicle in Episode 3/Clone Wars, but it also includes Phase II clone troopers with accessory slots in their helmets for visors and rangefinders! I really hope they make an updated Phase II Rex with the new helmet mould!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I like the Sanctum and the retro Castle, but both are far too overpriced imho, so unless I find them at a substantial discount, they won't find their way into my collection.

Avatar and everything else, I don't care about, so no hard feelings about the laughable prices.

Did I forget something?
Ah yes, 10497, my favorite of the bunch of reveals. Best of all, non exclusive, and reasonably priced even at RRP.
Will definitely get at least two.

By in United States,

10305 Lion Knights' Castle - Only real gripe is the price. $400 is way too much for me right now, especially for a theme I have a passing interest in. I still *really* want it, but unless by some miracle a family member sends it as a gift I'll probably never get my hands on it. If it was another faction, like Dragon Masters or Fright Knights, I may be more moved, but the Lion Knights were never my forte. An updated Majisto though is fantastic and that Minifigure selection is to die for! We (technically) got Black Falcon and Forestmen Castles last year, a Lion Knights this year. Can we make this a trend? Every year remake an old Castle faction's base? That'd be cool.

10497 Galaxy Explorer - This one's actually cheaper than I expected! Probably going to be a day one purchase. I adore Space, and while Classic gets a lot of love most of it's been little polybags or minifigures in recent years. My only gripe is that they stuck to the original concept *too* much when it comes to minifigs. Two white and two red? We already got an updated white in Benny's Space Squad. We still haven't gotten an updated black and Benny is only *technically* an updated blue. For that price they could've easily included all five of the original colors. Robot's adorable as a bonus though!

I believe I've said this before, but I'll say it again. We're getting TWO Castle sets this year and a Space set for the 90th. Barracuda Bay only just left shelves so we *technically* have a Pirate set for the celebration. But no BIONICLE? If you're going to do a $400 Castle set and a $100 Space set might as well throw in a $50 Pirate and $20 BIONICLE set to give all the finalists some love.

21189 The Skeleton Dungeon and 21190 The Abandoned Village - Funny enough, I missed the original livestream so I listened to it on my phone while playing Minecraft. You can imagine my joy when Lady Agnus came on screen! The sets are alright. Not a fan of how the Dripstone Caves in the background of that Skeleton turned out, not pink enough and too sandy. Love the Abandoned Village though! 1.14 brought so many new Village house designs, so many new Villagers, and so many new Zombie Villagers. I don't think it'll be possible for LEGO to ever cover them all, but it's nice that they're still trying!

While I've never got into the realm of custom or bootleg Minifigs, I might have to bite the bullet one of these days. All those vote-for-a-Minifig characters would be fun to add to a lineup.

31207 Floral Art - Something about these colors feels bland. Though I'll agree with one of the commenters on the Brickset article, BIONICLE masks are a fun thing to try and create out of these.

40452 FC Barcelona Go Brick Me - Sports themed sets always feel a bit too specific, but this one is an extreme example. Whenever LEGO makes niche products like this, the simply produce less copies to guarantee they sell, so unlike most people I wouldn't write this off as an instant flop, but it certainly doesn't interest me.

71034 Collectable Minifigures Series 23 - Easily the most disappointing reveal of the entire program. When rumors came out that there was going to be a 90th Anniversary CMF I was expecting LEGO to take the top 12-20 themes from that fan-poll and produce updated figs for them (Sans the 1st place since that would get a full set anyway.) Instead we got... random costume figs.

Like they made an updated version of the Classic Knight, so that's awesome, but aside from that... this feels more like a Christmas series than a LEGO one. Like with the 40th Anniversary of the Brick series they at least had two figs dressed as LEGO bricks! We could've gotten an updated Basil the Batlord, Toa Tahu, Johnny Thunder*, Commander Cold! So many iconic characters. But no. we get more generic costumes.

*Well we already got a CMF Johnny a few years back, but you get what I mean.

71410 Super Mario Character Packs Series 5 - Mario have been the only CMFs I buy full boxes of. Cutting from 10 figs a series to 8 is odd, but it'll make collecting cheaper at least.

75323 The Justifier - On the one

Gravatar
By in United States,

75323 The Justifier - On the one hand, the ship looks awesome and we're finally getting an Omega figure! On the other hand... by the First Spinjitzu Master's Beard... that price is ridiculous! Star Wars is already overpriced, and this just takes the cake.

As for 75337 AT-TE Walker I always liked the AT-TE more than the AT-AT. I'm not going to buy it but its certainly a solid kit.

75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls - I think it speaks volumes that when this partnership was first announced my first thought wasn't "Cool LEGO is making Avatar sets" but instead was "I've never seen The Last Airbender start to finish." I proceeded to binge all of Airbender and Korra over the course of a week.

It also speaks volumes that around the same time I hunted down some reviews and recaps of James Cameron's Avatar to refresh my memory on what happened for the sequel... and have already forgotten it.

As for the set itself its gorgeous. Pandora is a beautiful planet and all these neon and glow in the dark parts have captured it perfectly. My only gripe is the noses on the Na-Vi look super awkward, but you can say that about any Minifigure nose. I'm overjoyed they brought those long limbs from Woody back! I've been begging for that for a decade.

76218 Sanctum Sanctorum - We already got three Sanctum Sanctorum sets, one full building and two rooms, but a full modular is a fun take. I can't wait to see how this looks connected to the Bugle! I also love that the portals are themselves modular. I was worried about the squid on the side when it first appeared an how that would affect connections.

As for non-set things in the stream, love how they followed the Rule of Three's in bringing up how Dimensions was never coming back, fun little joke. They poked fun at the leakers, which was cool.

The nearest movie theater is 2 hours away, so I still haven't managed to see Lightyear. I adore space and I adore LEGO, so a space movie directed by a LEGO Fan seems right up my ally. I just don't have the time right now.

The Harry Potter segment felt very barebones. Granted I was watching on x2 speed, but for something advertised so heavily in the marketing I was expecting something more intense. It was nice hearing Luna Lovegood's voice again!

Space castle sanctum

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Ah they finally made a Sanctum with 4 walls! Will surely get one.

Castle: just beautiful but waaaay too expensive.

Gravatar
By in Hong Kong,

This is just so exciting, I'll have to do extra well at school this year just to get some additional financial support from my mom and dad and aunt!

Gravatar
By in United States,

As a big Dr Strange fan, I've been regretting missing our on the IW Sanctum Santorum, so this is super exciting to finally see, and be this nice of quality!

This may be the push I need to finally pick up the Bugle as well. And while I'm at it, I might need to grab a few of the more recent modulars as well...Oh God, they're getting to me! Where am I going to find the space??

Also, I hope this trend of modular compatable superhero buildings continues. I would love to see Stark Tower, or even another Avengers tower, rendered at this scale and detail. Maybe next year?
