a very interesting piece for the most Hexagonal Shape enthusiasts
Four days ago, I mentioned that this was one of only two modified plates that were larger than that day’s RPOTD (I did forget to specify “modified”, but nobody called me out on 8x16 and 16x16).
Huwbot has done it - the part that I would never want to have.
SKREEEEEEEeeeee!!
The hole makes all the difference.

And in a sense, larger than the RSOTD (8194) as well. :)
Lego, stop making pieces that appear in one set only.
Such a good plate for space builds, not only as spaceship shape, but also as platform!
Would love to have dark/light gray versions!
This is strange. This plate appears only on set 75237. Each set contains exactly 2 of these plates. Considering that Huwbot reports 7652 parts owned by members, this means 3826 sets most have been recorded by the members. Looking at this sets, it seems that only 3330 members own it.
Thinking a bit more about this: 3826-3330 = 496. 496/2 = 248. This means that out of the 3330 members who own this sets, some of them own more than one copy - 248 extra copies to be exact. Obviously Huwbot has the data as who owns 1, 2 or more of this set - most likely fitting to some degree to Newcomb/Benford law.
TIE WING, TIE WING, TIE WING, T...sorry, derailed my train of thought for a moment...

Ever considered people might have bought the part separately from BL or PaB?

Oh God am I expected to do that now as well, log all the BL parts o_0
I was gonna say: "let me guess, TIE fighter wing?". Looks like I was right.
Not that such a piece was present in the version of the TIE fighter that I remember, 7263... but I can see the advantage of it in a version of the ship intended to be sturdier for smaller hands, so that's fair ^^
Hexagons are the bestagons
I wonder what else but TIE wings this specific shape could be used for. It feels a bit 2000s in that way.

A lot of the 4+ sets seem to have these highly specialized parts. I think it's fun! AFOLs can find all kinds of uses for them.
Part picture doesn't show the premade 3 technic pin holes in the center, on the bottom side which make it very different from a standard "plate" .
Basicly if this is flat on the ground, most of the actual plate actually won't make contact with the surface.
