Brick Rodeo, Austin, Texas
Posted by Huw,Here's information about an event in Texas this week:
Brick Rodeo is an officially recognised AFOL networking event in Texas. This summer the show returns from June 30 to July 3 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel.
More than 450 convention attendees of all ages will gather together to display their LEGO creations, attend workshops, listen to engaging presentations, shop the vendors for that hard to find item, play games, and crack jokes - all rooted in a shared love for building with LEGO bricks. This year’s exhibition will be over 15,000 sq ft of displays primarily from the five LUGs in Texas, including the legendary Texas Brick Railroad’s 40 ft by 20 ft motion-filled train layout.
We’ll host two fundraisers over the weekend. The first for UK based Fairy Bricks and the second a silent / live auction combination to benefit both the Dell Children’s Medical Centre of Central Texas here in Austin and the Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Hospital in nearby Temple, Texas.
AFOL all access badges are limited and have long been sold out. But there are still tickets available to attend the public display days on July 2nd and 3rd. We can’t wait to see y’all there. https://brickrodeo.com/
Brick Rodeo is an all volunteer run non-profit organisational. Our teams in Austin and Houston (with help from our LUG neighbours in Dallas and San Antonio) take turns hosting and running the show, so everyone gets every other year off to relax and play. When we’re not hosting Brick Rodeo, we promote STEAM learning through LEGO bricks with hands-on activities in local schools, theatres, museums, libraries, hospitals, and more.

Sounds fun!
I'll be there on Saturday with my family for the public exhibition.
Thanks Texas
It would be cool if an episode of '911 Lone Star' could take place here. There must be plenty of ridiculous Lego themed injuries/disasters that could happen !
Plus character TK has been seen playing with Lego in an episode - although it was a flashback to when he was a kid !!
(Sorry... I am just excited that season 2 is FINALLY coming to Disney+ in the UK in a couple of weeks)
I will so be there!
I’m excited

How exactly is there no civil rights for half the population in Texas?

Educate yourself. Voting rights, reproductive rights- and that's just the beginning. Ask any person of color or any cool, white person. It's not just Texas. It's the entire South.
And, my statements are not hyperbole. I received my law degree in Georgia. I'm a former member of an Inn of the Court there. I clerked for a Justice on the Georgia Supreme Court. I've also been a member of the Florida Bar and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals for 25 years.
And my cousin is a former coach for the American football team for the University of Texas Longhorns.
Keep Austin wierd!
I meant my previous comment as a joke for anyone unaware, I wasn't trying to insert any opinion on recent events.

"Jehoshaphat, Trigger! Put that peashooter down." Disney's Robin Hood
You got me. Living up to your handle. ;)

You are the one throwing around phrases like "no civil rights", so YOU educate me on what you mean by that. What's wrong with the voting rights in Texas? How does not being able commit infanticide equate to absolutely no civil rights for half the population?
