Used in 9 sets (+loop coaster not listed yet)
4 of them space launch sets
2 stuntz gates (metallic titanium color)
1 rollercoaster
1 goldmine
1 roundabout overhead rail

10303 : Loop Coaster will have a lot more of them, because they also put them on the side tower for a counterweight.

After reading that review of 76911, I feel like I'm getting the Rail and the Shaft. :[

Wait…I see two rails, and 11 shafts. I think.

Hmm...'Train Set' is S.o.t.D., and this is 'the part'...algorithms I tells ya'...:D

Seriously, I do like the 'coaster tracks', and would loooove to build an alt-rail transit; an 'Ultra-Light Rail' transit if you will...just trying to figure out a 'configuration' for an enclosed car, using the 'coaster cars' as the base...not to mention an engine...

Interesting that this mould isn’t listed as being in the Pirate Roller Coast and the Wayne Manor sets that were designed while the large coaster was in development. I wonder if they used a prototype mould?

I feel the whole rollercoaster system is underated. It opens up lots of possibilities for small scale railways.

No flat straights in 31084 and only short straights in 70922

@Kynareth:
Once a theme develops a new part design that’s approved for production, there’s no rule saying they must be allowed to use it first. The original Bionicle Toa torso showed up six months early in 8008, and the Steamboat Willie hats were developed for their CMF counterparts that showed up very soon after the Ideas set. The tricky thing is, recolors still count against you. The Pirates and TLBM coasters used different colors for the track, so none of those three sets benefited from being able to borrow track elements from any of the others. Minimizing the range of coaster track elements used left more new element slots for stuff like minifig prints or other necessary recolors. For the big coaster, maximizing the number of coaster track elements used was actually beneficial, by broadening the range of available elements the next time someone wanted to build a coaster set (and even then, we still see new track sections were needed to allow a vertical loop).
