A steam engine in the top window….?
So you can actually BUY this one from a regular store or online, rather than have to attend a Brand Store opening (which have never been near me)? Nice! I like it too, love the colours - definitely getting this.
I really want this, more than I thought I would.
Why no roof and still no printed 2x2 tile with LEGO logo even though it was printed on exclusive promos in 2020+2021.
Am I blind or is there no LEGO store employee minifig?
Definitely an upgrade from 40305
How is this so cheap?
It's surprising, but this set is decent! The floors are tiled, and the interior is nice considering nowadays most Lego sets have extremely small ones. It appears to be better than 40305 , though there are obvious flaws, with no roofs or a store employee, but the price for 541 pieces is actually pleasantly surprising value since the sets are currently quite overpriced.
Imagine having to climb that ladder at a real Lego Store lol (I know it's good for play)
It'll be a sticker infested nightmare of a set... no thank you
Agree with other posters that this is a decent set! I think I'll be adding it to my next online order.
I don't like it. I appreciate the ladder (stairs would make more sense but better than nothing), other than that it's very disappointing.
The majority of the set is just stickers with references to Lego's Rebuild the World nonsense (whatever its supposed to mean??). PaB wall is very mediocre, BaM station is practically non existent, there's no store employees and the overall architecture makes no sense. It's like one person was building an old building and then another person built the last Lego Store set in the middle of it.
Yes, plenty of old buildings have modern renovations but consider the Lego Store in City Square, that made sense and looked nice. This looks like a basic MOC using parts from previous Lego Store sets.
Already have 40305 but I think I'll be getting this! It definitely looks better and perhaps I can combine the two to improve upon certain aspects like the lack of a roof and such. The price is surprising too, although I'm not really seeing 500+ parts in there on first glance.
I think it's a bit sparse for what it is. It's rather telling that for the internal shots on the box, they opted to go for detail on the ground floor
I’m down for it. Would look nice in my City.
Now I immediately want to run to my local lego store and buy that steam engine and castle. Oh wait...
Happy about the 90 year anniversary castle though.
Looked decent at first glance, but the more I look at it, the less I like it. The lack of a roof is something I can get over. But it's a stickerfest, no staff, that weird ladder. And is this really a 541 piece set? I just don't see it.
I do like the steam engine, but there's just not that much else.
l think this is the worst one yet. The older one 40145 is still the best imo.
It'll be good when it's finished....
The inner kid in me is bugged incessantly by the lack of roofs.
Just plop a 8x16 and a 6x16 plate on top for a roof :)
US price of 37 dollars...LOL... it was obviously going to be 30 or 35 but then they had to add a few bucks to make sure the Lego trust funder could still buy 15 more Ferraris without sacrificing a dime this year during inflateGate. Also I think its a mediocre set.
Not bad, not perfect, but will combine well with 40359: LEGO Store Picture Frame , 40305: LEGO Brand Retail Store and even 31105: Townhouse Toy Store had a LEGO exployee and some printed LEGO set tiles.
Wow, a 500 pcs. set that is not GWP. What a surprise these times.
The more I look at it the more I don't like it. Too many stickers and too many fiddly small pieces.
Is that Police ferry with red helicopter a real set?
Or it will be?
I prefer mine. It’s bigger, shaped more like a 2x4 LEGO brick, has brighter lights (not that six sets of PF lights run on one 9v regulator are particularly bright until it gets dark out), and it has 40 large PAB bins stocked with 40 different types of actual elements (39 of which were stocked by actual LEGO Store employees), and it’s _staffed_.
@NatureBricks:
They had both, but the one collapsed, sending the other to the hospital…
@ScholtzTKO:
If you’d rather pay 1978 prices, we can ask them to charge you $54 instead.

My thoughts exactly, along with several stickers depicting current Lego sets, and some others that are unknown as of yet. Maybe foreshadowing 2023?

I will be paying nothing as its not worth it to me.
The new store at Barcelona is like this
All the store full of murals and the product boxes hidden and concentrated in a corner
I have visited it some times and never bought anything (like the 80% of people)
According to the lack of roof. It's LEGO, nothing that you can't add with a baseplate and some bricks
As much as I love these Lego store builds, I do wish they would make a full Lego store modular building with more brick built displays. It feels like we're always getting a taste of a better set. Definitely picking this one up though.
The fully tiled floor is annoying but at least it means some free yellow and light grey tiles if I leave them out. I think the hinged areas are a nice novelty (has this been done with a minifig-scale LEGO store set before?) that let you display the store in one of several configurations.
Honestly, I'd get this just for the coral minifig legs and the new stickers, even if I already have 40145 and 40305.
When was the last time a LEGO store set included an employee minifig, not counting polybags or the Picture Frame? (Yes, not even 30569, which has inexplicably been unavailable in my country.)

You know inflation and rising costs make it impossible for this small company to print its logo on a tile.
The stickers are disappointing but the price is surprisingly good. I’ve been stockpiling previous LEGO store sets in the hopes of making my own modular one day… this one seems destined for that pile…
Oh this is so going to be mine.
What's the story with the garden section? - I have never seen that in the Lego stores in this part of the world. Do Lego stores elsewhere have section with only plants and wild animal posters?
IMHO the best solution for a proper Lego stores is to put on the first floor of a modular building (Icons/Creator Expert) - or 2 floors of one half of a modular. (32x32 footprint minus the side-walk and the stair should be plenty for a proper Lego store).
@DonnaxNL : Imagine trying to do so with an armful of sets!

31105 : Townhouse Toy Store has the LEGO logo minifig, but it's not a "LEGO store" , it sells some LEGO sets :

Hmm, a Modular Lego Store you say.... 910009
And unlike a lot of sets out now, the price isn't stupid. And it's designed rather well. My only complaint is that there isn't a clerk--just a kid and what I presume is his mom.
@NatureBricks:
It definitely does feel like 40528 got inflated to Modular size. The PAB wall especially looks bad because there’s so much space between individual bins. It’s like if three of every four bins on a real PAB wall got covered up with drywall. Mine are just as bad on size (I used the 2x2x2 box with clear hinged doors), but they at least fill the entire space, and at only 8 bricks tall, most of the PAB wall is accessible to minifigs without stilts.
Cute to see this showcase the Minifigure Factory feature, though feels like I'm still a far cry from getting a chance to try that experience. The only store I've been able to get to that's offering it is the Disney Springs one in Florida, and last time I went they had a 4-hours-in-advance booking arrangement.
@Drewsko:
Michigan’s only store has surplus capacity. I haven’t seen them run a full tray yet. I even got to do a test run for the little display case above the design stations.
1. I like that it's available on-line - could be used as a top up for a future GWP
2. I'd much rather have the ladder than no way of getting to the top floor.
3. I'd pay another buck or three for a roof - even a simple one.
4. Sure no store employee - but minifigures are decent.
Overall a solid 7/10
Pretty good! Not a bad selection of parts, with things like the 6x6 tiles and inverted arches.
The window displays and 'Pick a Brick' are cool, not sure what the structure on the top floor is possibly a brick pit but more sculptures would be great instead of just a brick in the window? Really needs more shelves with Lego boxes rather than large stickers on the walls.
I guess I'll have to pick this up at the new Irish store opening in August!
Already booked the day off to make the trip to Dublin!
