Hot on the heels of the unveiling of 40542 FC Barcelona Go Brick Me recently, a similar set featuring another team has been added to the Malaysian pages of LEGO.com today (although it's now been removed).

40541 Manchester United Go Brick Me will enable you to build a single Red Devils player with a choice of skin tone and hairstyle/colour.

Also, two more additions to the range of BrickHeadz Pets were recently revealed. 40545 Koi Fish and 40546 Poodles will bring the total number of such sets to 12. Presumably someone is buying them, but they always seem to be languishing unloved in my local brand store...

If they would do countries that would be fun.

I don't follow football so I haven't a clue who plays in what :-)

By in Singapore,

The splat gear base and the saucer work so much better for the koi mouths than the 2x2 round tile with hole and the jumper did for the goldfish in 40442. I like the scenery as well, though I prefer the enclosed design of 40442's display stand. And look at all those prints and transparent tiles!

By in Ireland,

I'm sure it's down to licensing, but it's a shame they couldn't have multiple red jersey teams in the same box. That would really increase the popularity of these!

As far as the pets brickheads go, well we just got a cream colored goldendoodle, so ill certainly be buying the poodle brickhead

By in Netherlands,

They do realise that there are other competitions then English and Spanish ?

Agreed! No reason why you couldn’t put tiles for Liverpool and Forest in there too (though it might get a bit tense).

Boring and dull. But I'm not a MU fan (who would be) or a Brickheadz fan.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Red Devils players? That would be a Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Debruyne or Thibaut Courtois or maybe even or own Charles De Ketelaere? :D
Forget about Man U, that's been a while indeed :p

I shouldn't skim-read articles like this. I hovered over 40545 and thought 'They look nothing like poodles.'

I'm a Man Utd supporter and so I might be tempted to pick up 40541. Besides, a BrickHeadz couldn't do any worse than the majority of our current squad.

By in United Kingdom,

Whilst not a Man United fan (the complete opposite, in fact) it is interesting that this has been revealed on the same day United launch their 22/23 kit - which is quite faithfully replicated here.

And I'm not going to get all sniffy claiming that they should release [insert team here] instead of teams like Man Utd and Barcelona. Neither may be the force they used to be but will always attract a bigger worldwide audience than the current top teams.

Lego are definitely missing a trick not having a Half Man Half Biscuit line. I'd be all over a Trumpton Riots set.

The European championship is for national teams. Clubs play Champions League, Europa League and Conference League on a European level.

But my joke was aimed more so at the fact that United has fallen off quite a bit since their last Champions League victory (2008) and their last two appearances in the final (2009 & 2011), both of which they lost to Barcelona. So back then they could be considered main rivals. Nowadays, both clubs are in a slump - United due to bad recruiting and Barcelona due to bad financial decisions.

This must be how it feels for other people when I talk to them about LEGO.

Kind of cool that they'd do this for Harry Maguire.

LEGO was so wrapped up in the fact the designers could, they didn't stop to think about whether they should.

The set also has blue ones.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There is a junk toy company that makes officially licensed minifigures and team logo sets out of plastic bricks. The plastic is crap and the prices are higher than Lego. It would be great if Lego contracted to do every team in the Premier League and cut out the competition.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Are all these Barcelona and Manchester United related sets intended to help bail the respective clubs out?

Barcelona are a billion pound in debt. Man Ure we're bought on the back of debt, and the Glazers keep taking money out of the club. Seems odd to me.

And if bootleg brands make knock-offs of that, they'll be Fake Madrid ones :~P

Gravatar
By in Australia,

NRL series when? Particularly Sydney Roosters?

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I must admit to be slightly surprised to see Manchester United fans being slagged off even on a Lego website. Although always accused of attracting plastic (excuse the pun) fans, even the last decade's massive downturn in fortune has yet to make quite a few people understand that the club actually has a massive and genuine following that refuse to let the club down even in more trying times.

Is this the first Brickheadz to have a side build off the main base?

When will brickheadz just...end?

Never. It will be going strong after World War 3. While the rest of the world goes full Mad Max, LEGO will still be churning out Brickheadz from some secret underground installation. By then, the price will be a whole months pay in gold bars, a good feather mattress, a gallon of water, or a can of non-contaminated food. (Or all three)

I’m one of the Presumed. I buy every single one. Even the ones I don’t like or don’t even want. Whoever created the plan for how to release these did a decent job…they do appeal to at least one crazy nutter collector subsection of the LEGO community.

The size of the subsection is a minimum of one with a maximum of…I have no idea.

By in Norway,

Love it!!! And it’s actually incredibly accurate and faithful to the new 22/23 season home kit too!

As a United fan, I’m gonna be all over this once it comes out.
I do wish they’d include a goalkeeper kit version as well, though! Or at least release one separately (Would love to have De Gea in Brickheadz-form! hahah).
