This wheel arch apparently has horrible nobs.
I'm not sure what that means, though... and I'm slightly afraid to ask!

Nothing wrong with some hori.nobs.

Hori is an ancient Egyptian name, with known historical instances including one pharaoh, three high priests, two viceroys (not a title I’d ever have associated with ancient Egypt, but there you go), a vizier, and an author. It’s also a type of music from India, a Japanese surname, a derogatory term for a Maori, and an asteroid. And an incredibly bad misspelling of “hairy”. I mean, automatically held back another year at school if you use it bad. If you use it as an adult, I’m pretty sure they’re legally allowed to revoke your high school (or equivalent) diploma.

Did they forget a W in there somewhere? Cause this part gets around.

@MeisterDad:
Nope, it’s right there in front. _Wheel_ arch. Small though it may be, it’s still a bit too large to be a minifig’s heel arch.

Hmmm...why do I look at these, and want to add 'eyes'; and recreate the cars from 'Chevron's' ads:)

@brick_r:
Been watching the Celine Dephare scene of Cars 2 on endless repeat?

These were made for the Cars 2 sets.

...and I re-watched that movie a few months back to see if it would be appropriate for my 4 year old. It is NOT. I didn't even sit through the whole thing on the second viewing after I started to remember the plot. It was really quite terrible. One of the worst Pixar films (second to The Good Dinosaur.)

at least Cars 2 had a plot!

@PurpleDave: No, funny enough: I hated that scene...it was basically Pixar thumbing their noses at the ad agency that they kinda' 'ripped off' in the first place. I mean, sure they moved the 'eyes' to windshields; but the overall concept...

Two of these also appeared in Racers set 9092 as well.

@brick_r: Actually, the windshield eyes were inspired by an old Disney short, "Susie, the Little Blue Coupe."

Cars 3 is easily the worst Pixar film, even more than The Good Dinosaur. Cars 2 didn’t sit well with viewers who just wanted more of the first film, and it wasn’t until my second viewing that I started to appreciate it for what it really was. It’s a bumbling spy caper, in the same vein as Austin Powers or Johnny English, and it works really well in that regard. I hood it above Incredibles 2, the back half of Wall-E, and probably on par with Finding Dory. Of the seven Pixar Cars characters I’ve modeled, four (Rod “Torque” Redline, Acer the Pacer, Grem the Gremlin, and both ground and flying versions of Holley Shiftwell) are exclusive to Cars 2, and the other three (Lightning McQueen in vintage Corvette livery, Mater, and Todd the Pizza Planet truck) each make appearances in all three films.

@brick_r:
You mean the overall concept of Benny the Cab from Disney’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit, released in 1988? It probably wasn’t even an original idea at that time, and I’m sure there are examples that date back to the B/W days of animation.
