Hey, it's the 4x4 that lost its roll-bar/light-rack a few days ago!!!...:D

Currently it only comes in 71412. You get one printed and one plain, both in dark-orange, on the giant Goomba(?).

This is definitely a newer part. Looks like LEGO is going back and using lower Design IDs that were previously unused, hence the four digits. Neat!

All we need now is a basic 2x12 brick...

@lordofthebricks614:
Someone else remarked on this in a comment here during the last week or so. For parts, sure, why not? They don’t get printed on boxes and lined up in store shelves. (Almost) Every part is an island unto itself, and there are parts with 3-digit numbers still in production. For sets, a clean switch works better, so as they run low on unused numbers, some will be cast to the side when they make the jump to 6-digit set numbers, as happened with some 4-digit numbers before. Once the entire product lineup is on 6-digit numbers, there will be no going back short of issuing sets with numbers that begin with 0 or 00.

First thought that went through my head seeing this was "oh, the dimensions of a Duplo brick."

Of course, it wouldn't work as much more than a wobbly hat for a Duple brick... but it's where my mind went.

There are also two white printed ones in 71408 Peach's Castle! One for the sun pattern on the floor, and one for the Bob-Omb Battlefield painting.
