Such a specialized part... It sure is a helicopter.
Missing the red one from 60318 : Fire Helicopter
As for this part, yes it's simple and 4+, but I think it does allow a sturdy helicopter with a fair amount of cargo space.
The main change from this part compared to the previous version is the removal of the fixed rotor pin on top : https://brickset.com/parts/design-19000 .
I was super-confused and thought this was an hour-early Random Set of the Day when I saw "helicopter" in my RSS alert... but, yes, it's a part, and, yes, it's a helicopter.
They could use this in gray or sand green for a star wars juniors Boba Fett ship
@MrGurt
Now I want to see someone build a Firespray shell around the rotor mechanism from this year's Airbus helicopter, 42145 with the controls routed to Boba's seat and the rotor hub more or less where the spring shooters are on 75243. That would be awesome. Let's make it happen, people!
Befunny if today's RSotD turns out to be a helicopter.
I appreciate the 4+ sets. Yes they are simple and use large, special pieces, but they also include figs, side builds and in the case of this part, a dino. What’s not to like?
It’s got a little porta-potty in the back!
Textbook definition of a "Junior-ized" part.
Well, the RSotD was an earth mover. Guess this wasn't a portent.
@MeisterDad: The fact that they don't have stickers, just prints, is also nice. Although it makes perfect sense; the target demographic aren't always careful with stickers.
Wow that is a big space part.
@SolidState : Well 'yes' it's a helicopter...but also 'no'...I mean: people here already speculated building spaceships/crafts. Myself: I'd like to take a shot at using one for a submersible, or some-type of 'kitplane' (possibly a single fan-jet engine type...possibly with said engine making the brunt of the body ala 'Robotech's' Rick Hunter's 'Mocking Bird')
if you squint, it kinda looks like a fat puppy.
Calling a single piece “helicopter” like that absolutely sounds like a gauntlet being thrown down to use it as something else in a MOC. Lego’s calling you guys out, will you answer the challenge?
Like all specialised pieces, I want to see someone use this as a part of a roof on a modular.

The preferred term is "chubber pupper".
So, chubber pupper chopper?
Really hard to re-use such pieces as always looks like a helicopter crashed into your moc. Although if you rotate two of them by 90 degrees and join the tails to create a u-shape spaceship then you lose the helicopter look!
Funny, I was just checking out this part. My son just got 60318 and loves it. I don't like it (the specialised part I mean. I do like my son).

Don't forget always printed parts!
You could probably build a house out of this.
@TomKazutara: This piece came about long after Jack Stone died.
This would be a great starting point for an Ice Planet craft or vehicle. Maybe a large ground transport à la Solar Snooper 6957 ?
This part defeated me in my attempts to use specialized parts in a Castle layout.
I think they made it one piece for safety reasons (like an F1 monocoque).
This part should have been about 20 parts.
This is why ppp doesn't reflect the value of the set.
@Somnium:
Would you rather pay for this by weight, or with a US dime?
