When a problem comes along...you must brick it!
Brick it good!
Brickin' makes me feel good!
Makes a pretty good set of dumbbell weights.
@Rimefang:
Well, it was created for 8684-10, after all…
Do these have any other use than dumbbells?

Hubcaps on the Ecto-1 (not the big one)
@WesterBricks:
Before they came out with an official cart-bicycle frame, I used the original bike to make a rear-mount food cart, and I used these in black for the rear wheels.
I've got the full set of four of these.
WATCH OUT FOR THE LANDMINE
'Punch' and 'Kick' "buttons" for the original 'Street Fighter' game...seriously:

Surprised this part hasn't been used more
@Sandinista:
That’s…yeah. 8684-10 in black, 8909-7 in blue, and 21108 in silver ink. So here’s some possible explanations. The original mold was produced in pre-Unikitty days, when all CMF parts were produced exclusively in China. CMF molds, therefore, were all also exclusive to China. Retail set designers were based in Billund, and didn’t have access to those molds. I went to a Q&A with a Friends designer, and when I asked about this, she said that they’d always have to pitch transitioning a CMF part over for retail set design because they’d have to cut a second mold for use in Europe, and this was almost always easier to do with hairstyles that could be used across a wider range of themes. The only set that then used this part with European production was the original Ideas Ecto-1. That was the silver ink version, also referred to as a drum-lacquered part. This adds a layer of material on top of the base plastic, which can affect clutch. I know for chromed parts, they had to make special molds that produced slightly smaller parts so the chrome layer wouldn’t make them too large. I suspect the same is true for these drum-lacquered parts as well, so maybe the tricky part is that the only mold available in Europe was of such limited use that nobody could work the part into a set design without needing yet another mold.
If only we all together had 8 less of these...
Hmm...

--> 4 in one set, and this set is owned by 26990 bricksetters, which gives 107960 parts... Where does the 12504 difference comes from ?

This part is in one set in this silver colour. But it is also in two different colours in different sets. Hence the bigger number.
TIL that this part appeared out of the CMF Series 2 Weightlifter...

It's probably my fault. I have a sealed and open Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1

That's exactly 8 indeed......sell them! Give them away! Throw them out! ;-)
Now I am wondering if articles like this are just generated once before being published and would stay as is, or if those numbers would be automatically updated....
EDIT: I assume the former, if I add that set to my collection the number here doesn't change. So good for you, you may keep your sets.
@asl: Some people, like @WizardofOss, own multiples.
ALL PARTS ARE SPACE PARTS.

I only own multiples of zero ;-)
@Rimefang:
Sealed, stock, and _slightly_ modified, but I don’t have them listed. I may have also bought loose ones. I know I got a small bag of black, but probably only have as many blues as what came in seven copies of the Team GB CMF. I think. I know I bought a sealed case of those, plus one extra each of the three that were short-packed, to even out the sets. I also bought a few other extras of ones I wanted for parts (mostly hair in exclusive colors), but I don’t think he was one of them. For instance, I got an extra of the boxer because (and I still can’t believe this) it is still the only instance of blue boxing gear, and I needed blue and red to make a vignette of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots.
Needs to come in red.
@PurpleDave: Do you have a photo of the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots MOC?

Well, not an official use, but I'm under the impression that this part would be a good base for a Palpatine Hologram for when "the time has come"

Yeah, they remind me of the Chevy 'Center caps' (or 'Vette Rallies', whatever you want to call them) of the old late 60's early 70's muscle cars.
