"That is indeed a plane bottom you have there."

The "Plane Bottom" does not seem to appear in any airplane models

@legodachi:
I’m pretty sure all of those planes crashed because they were so unaerodynamic.

Plane bottom with hole. Must be for in the back where the washrooms are.

Every good bottom has a hole... though I suppose this is a plain one and not a good one!

In set 60263 you have this part in yellow, which combined with the TIE wings from set 75237 it would make a passable Mining Guild TIE fighter.

Also in set 60263 you can see the photographer reflected in the sub's bubble cockpit.

Two mechs, a sub, and a TIE Fighter. Hardly a "plane piece".

How come we don't have an official anagram for "Big Ugly Plain Piece"?

By in Australia,

It's not a very exciting bottom, is it?

Nobody likes a plain bottom.

Very important that bottoms have a hole in them, crucial part of their job

By in Germany,

Just realised it's kinda an inverted BURP

Only used in juniorized/4+ sets.

Strange shape, never saw this part before!

By in United States,

Wonder if anyone has used such a part in a MOC before? Not just this part, but other specialized Juniors/4+ parts like it.

I would not have guessed it was a "plane" part if it hadn't said it. At first glance I assumed it was another big turret piece for a castle, kinda like https://brickset.com/parts/design-6066... at least with the colour it's shown in here.

@Brickalili:
Occasionally you need to ram an axle in them to dislodge stuff that’s stuck.

@jkb:
PRUB? Or would that be IBURP?

Another example of part namers being high. It was obviously designed for mechs.

Sounds like the plot of Airport (1970)!

Well, center sections in aircraft are structurally challenging areas, so at least TLG is pro-active in that if one is to design a plane, this part would be a good start.
