Beyond the fact that this exists as a physical alternative to using the app at all, I really like how it's been designed, both aesthetically and functionally. You can rotate the dials 90 degrees and use it one-handed like a TV remote, for example. I use it both ways and I really enjoy it!

I don't see any "Handset No. 1" listed anywhere? Strange....

Insert jokes from the previous "part No. 2" RPOTD entries...

Handset number 1 is your cell phone.

Beat me to it — I was going to say back in my day a handset was attached to the wall.

I can't recall for sure, but I think this is at least the second RPotD that's also technically a set.

Not many studs but I reckon if you wanted to customise it up with Dots (or Clikits…) you absolutely could

No. 1 was the handset for Control+ sets. But when they were packing the first batch they discovered they never actually made the thing, even when it was shown on the box and in the instructions. But hey, they fixed the glitch! Did they delay the release of the sets to actually make the Handset No. 1? No, they fixed the *glitch*. They removed every mention of it anywhere, so no customer would expect a handset in those sets, and it'll just work itself out naturally. They always like to avoid confrontation whenever possible. Problem is solved from their end.
