Shoppers in the UK and Europe should prepare for a bonus bonanza at LEGO.com between Monday the 10th and Thursday the 13th of October, when three GWPs will align with double VIP points:

  • If you spend over £120 / €120 you'll receive 40566 Ray the Castaway, one of the year's best gifts
  • If your shopping exceeds £170 / €170 you'll also reap last year's Christmas GWP, 40484 Santa's Front Yard
  • If your basket includes Ninjago sets over £40 / €40 you'll also obtain 30593 Lloyd Suit Mech for free as well
  • Last, but certainly not least, there will be double VIP points on all your purchases!

We'll remind you on Monday...

LEGO CS have said this one has sold out, though I am aware it is showing on SOME accounts and oddly in order confirmations (even if it doesn't show in basket). I'm not sure if they have got a restock or not, might be a case of a glitch and possibility that it may not arrive with your order.

In that case contact CS and they should be able to either send a similar sized set out to you or most likely just compensate with VIP points.

By in United Kingdom,

So basically just get like 10 Ninjago sets. A castaway, double VIP, a mech, and santas front yard. Plus the spooky pack. Seems good, but I and I’m sure many others just cannot afford to drop that amount on Lego at the moment.

By in United Kingdom,

The two spend thresholds are the wrong way round -
Ray the Castaway is with purchases over £120
Santa’s Front Yard is with purchases over £170

By in Norway,

How could you forget the coolest of them all.. the 40513 Spooky VIP Add On Pack?! :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The spooky pack is available at the moment but might not be by Monday which is why I haven't mentioned it.

By in United Kingdom,

That's a rather nice bundle. I wanted Santa's Front Yard last year but there wasn't a single Lego exclusive that I wanted that was in stock! Plenty this year.

It might finally be Loop Coaster time!

One of the only 2022 sets that is remotely imaginative was put behind a pay wall. Brilliant.

Buy some 2022 Friends sets and have some cake, you'll feel better.

Looks like 2x VIP points will be available in the US on all purchases at LEGO.com from the 10th through the 16th.

There also seems to be up to 20% off on several sets at Kohls.com in what is being dubbed Bricktober, with free shipping over $49.00.

By in Canada,

The recent price increase and ridiculously high prices for the new sets more than offset this deal. Best to wait for 30%+ offs at Amazon which will happen more frequently now given the ridiculous prices.

By in United States,

I'm bummed that the spooky pack is apparently gone in the US already. The Pirate add on stuck around for a pretty long time. I was holding off for Double Vip points to get the Spooky pack but that plan is out the window unfortunately.

That spooky pack goes for 10$ on ebay and bricklink, no point in spending more on lego site just to get this.

Funny how Titanic sells out before double points. I managed to get one last week, but would have liked double points.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Oh come on, I just ordered last night! Oh well, the bonus points would have been worth like 3€. I got the castaway and hopefully the Spooky pack. It was in my basket but there was no mention of it on the site... Oh well, if I don't get it, I'll just harass Lego Customer Support.

By in United States,

Is there a way to know these things a bit further in advance? I just put an order in a week ago and would have waited had I known. Does anyone track this?

By in Ireland,

Is this online only or redeemable instore too?

Santa's Front Yard is online only. The rest is online and in-store.

@ra226:
If you have a LEGO Store nearby, they get advance notice on upcoming promos, which is probably where most advance knowledge comes from.

@TheBrickshipyard:
They told us why. Unprecedented delays in their supply chain resulted in several GWPs arriving late to North American shores, so the promos had to be delayed here. Being late once is unfortunate, but being late consistently makes them vulnerable to lawsuits. The only reliable way to avoid being vulnerable, without jacking up their entire production schedule, was to stop advertising them. When US carmakers are no longer sitting on tens of thousands of mostly-built vehicles that are just waiting on a few computer chips before they can be shipped to dealers, then we might get at least the digital version of the calendars back. Until then, find your info by whatever source works for you.

By in France,

Damn, I had missed the Spooky VIP addon, that's exactly the type of bonus I like. I looked on Lego, and in the end there's nothing I want to buy. I guess my wallet will be happy, but that's a weird time not to buy something, with all the simultaneous incentives!

I like the castaway, but I can't afford the threshold at the moment. I like VIP points and I have a lot currently, but I don't like when they deduct points from the sets you purchase with them so you don't get the points you could buying sets without them. Unless they've changed this since I last spent points on a set?

Nope, if you use a discount, the total amount of points is still reduced by that discount. So you're always better off using points only when there are no sales going on.

If you were looking for more site improvements, making a static little area on the front page of what is currently being offered as gift with purchases on lego.com could be a good thing. You've been manually reporting about most of them, but for example the Spooky Add-on wasn't mentioned here if I recall (at least when it came out). Same for when there's double VIP points, but those you've barely ever missed any.

VIP points are accumulated on the amount you pay, not on the price of the sets.

21335 Motorized Lighthouse, 10305 Lion Knights' Castle, or 10303 Loop Coaster? All of the above? Whatever I get, my wallet won't be happy, but I will be.

As of Sunday 9th at 5:34, This offer is active already now in the uk. I just used it to finally get a delorian.

@daniellesa:
They technically don’t deduct points for purchases made with points. They award points for purchases made with actual money. If you use points for rebates, that’s your 5% discount, paid forward. Technically it’s a 4.76% discount (if you want a true 5%, flash your card at a LEGOLAND store). If they gave you points on points spent, it’d be a 5.25% discount. For a true 5% discount, they should be awarding $5 off for the points awarded on a $95 spend, with no points awarded for points spent.

You can qualify for GWPs and free shipping with points spent, but if you spend points during double points, you give up $5 worth of free points for every $100 you redeem.

@TheBrickshipyard:
I don’t anticipate a return of printed calendars, since I think they were eliminated before the pandemic hit. But promo timing has been out of whack since they stopped releasing a digital version.

Really? I'm not seeing double points yet?

By in Belgium,

Already got the Castaway and, with LEGO's price increases, it's no longer worth buying anything from them if we can get it elsewhere.

Heck, I just got the Sanctum Sanctorum from Amazon with a 30% discount. Double VIP would give me the equivalent of what in points? 10%? Just not worth it.

LEGO got greedy...and I started shopping elsewhere.

Yes, of course. But I can't imagine many wait for double points / nice GWPs for anything other than Lego exclusive sets (or ever have).

By in Spain,

Just placed a €122 order here in Spain (00h20min approx local time).
40566 Ray the Castaway, 40513 Spooky VIP Add On Pack, and double VIP points.
All seems running fine... this time.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Sadly the Spooky VIP Add-On pack wasn’t available to me at the time I placed my order here in the UK, but I did still get double VIP points and Ray. Maybe I’ll get a surprise when I open my box ??

Stuff on the sidebar gets lost and ignored, unfortunately, and on mobile devices it's right at the bottom of the page.

When information was available in advance, a few years ago, we did indeed maintain a calendar but now LEGO does not want people to plan their purchases around GWPs so does not provide it any more.

Even those are becoming rarer.
Take the 75339 Death Star Trash Compactor diorama. It's supposedly a LEGO exclusive.
And I just got it from Toys R Us with a 30% discount on top.
In fact, I don't recall a single set lately that I haven't been able to find at another major retailer at some point.
Which, honestly? Great news to me. 'cause now the less I buy from LEGO directly, the better.

Very true. There's an awful lot released as temporary exclusives without any official wide release date, just a hint that it will only be exclusive for a few months. I can see why they do it, but it still feels a little bit underhanded to me.
Having said that, I don't see much prospect of sets like the Loop Coaster or the Lion Knight's Castle getting a wide release any time soon, if ever, so the maximum incentive possible has to be better than a poke in the eye!
