It's unusual for double points and decent GWPs to be available at the same time but from today until Thursday you can take advantage of all the following offers at LEGO.com:

  • Free 40566 Ray the Castaway when you spend over £120 / $120 / $120
  • [UK/EU] Free 40484 Santa's Front Yard when you spend over £170 / €170
  • Free 30593 Lloyd Suit Mech when you spend over £40 / €40 / $40 on Ninjago sets
  • Last, but certainly not least, double VIP points on all your purchases!

So, now's the perfect time to pick up one of the many excellent large sets that have been released recently, such as 10305 Lion Knights' Castle, 75331 The Razor Crest, and 71411 The Mighty Bowser.

Well, I was going to get only the minecraft abandoned village set for double points this month, now I can get anything!

By in United States,

Lame, this doesn't apply to New Zealand. None of the GWP are available right now, only the double VIP points. And without any other price savings, the cost of buying the Lighthouse or Castle just isn't worth it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are also a number of interesting sets on sale in the U.S. including Optimus, the Ice Rink and the Potter chest.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

There are some sets on sale in Norway as well, but not all the same ones as in the U.S. i see. I ordered yesterday and got the 3 GWP and happy I did since I think a GWP is normally better than double vip points unless you are spending a lot of money :)

Maybe Lego has started to notice a decline in sale since everything is getting more expensive and the average person has less to spend on toys?! Sale on sets, double VIP points and multiple GWP at the same time is not something that they normally do at least, but I could get used to it :P

By in United Kingdom,

Lots of new sets on sale in the UK too. The Globe, Optimus, some Stars Wars sets plus many others.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sadly any of the Sale sets I would be interested in I already own. Can't decide if I should bite the bullet now on the Castle or wait for the Black Friday promos. I already have two of the Castaway promos so I don't really need another.

You rock, 20% off on Optimus Prime, thanks for the tip! (And with 2x VIP, that's effectively 30% off!)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Damn 40499 still looks tempting.
Not seeing the VIP pack in my basket. Are other people able to see it

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So they increased the price on sets like the Globe, and then reduced it in a "sale" back to the original price!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Th double points appeared but the Halloween VIP pack disappeared :(

And it's strange that Optimus goes on sale all around the world when in Singapore it's the only set specifically excluded from counting as spend for the Toys R Us Bricktober promotion??

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Bought the lions knight castle last night and got x2 points (6000+), Halloween accessory pack, Ray the castaway, Santa's front yard, my VIP keychain cause my vip account was bugged until now, and I finally got to spent my old vip points on discounts.

By in Luxembourg,

Justifier and Mando's N-1 on sale? Seems like LEGO is finally catching up with the rest of the world, overpricing things and then having "sales", marking down to what the RRP should be to begin with.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Weird action. Except the VIP point I already own al the giveaways

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Damn. I never learn. I got to stop buying sets on the day of release, I always miss out on these double VIP points.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The Spooky VIP pack didn't add to my cart during checkout, but it appears in the confirmation order email. Weird.

Spooky :(

By in United States,

I’d buy Diagon Alley today to get the overlapping promotions, but it’s been out of stock on Shop-at-Home since mid-August. How unfortunate.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Got 20% off the Harry and Hermione set and the flowers art set, double points and 2 free sets (bought two small Christmas sets to meet €170) not bad at all!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

As my PAB orders for expanding the Home Alone house roll in, I’ve received the two Castaway sets I qualified for, and three Spooky Packs. The order I placed last night showed a fourth Spooky Pack in the cart, but it was not scrolling across the top of the page as an available promo, even when logged in. If you want to test that, make sure you’re logged in to your VIP account, and drop something large in your cart to see what it triggers (over $120 should confirm if the Castaway set is still up for grabs). If you’re happy with the promos, clear your cart and start shopping. If not, you’ve just saved a little time.

@Igloo:
It _might_ have to do with being a Hasbro co-brand. More likely, TRU just flagged it as something they don’t want to trigger promos. Maybe they have Bricktober plans for it, or maybe it sells well enough on its own that they don’t want to just hand out free stuff when people are going to buy it even without a GWP attached.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

They excluded pick-a-brick from qualifying for anything…. *So* glad they ruined the old bricks and pieces system under the promise we’d start getting promos on it like PAB, just to then turn around and start excluding PAB from promos…

Gravatar
By in United States,

With double points + 2 * GWP + 40% off I went for FC Barcelona. Huge overlap with pieces I needed for a MOC anyway. Winter Village Main Street also.

Wait did this... change after I made this comment? Seems like its not excluded in the double vip points T&C anymore

Good to know. I don’t see it either (Haven’t checked out yet). They had plenty of the Pirate pack and I was curious if they ran out of this one.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

I should have done my shopping this week then rather than last week on the US but I wanted that VIP GWP......

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Wow Santa's Front Yard is already gone in Switzerland and most of other European countries...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Are we sure the Ray the Castaway set is worldwide? I'm in the U.S. and it's not showing up in my cart when I add a $130 set, and it isn't shown on the offers screen. Or is it already sold out?

it already sold out :(
You are very unlucky - I saw it literally 50 min ago

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ray the castaway is no longer available as GWP on the US lego.ccom site..

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Are - nice! I feel like it's been a while since anyone could pull something like that off.

@MORLU - I feel like for the past couple years, buying when it's released was jusitified or you risked months of a set being out of stock (only to go in stock and then out of stock again in mere hours). But I think they're finally recovering from the inentory issues we've been seeing.

@magmafrost:
It’s been a while now, at least since they merged PAB with B&P. PAB now qualifies for free shipping, GWPs, and points. Before, I think there was even a time when you could earn free shipping, and adding parts to your order would reapply shipping, which was kinda rude.m

@gradatim:
You’re in Switzerland, while @Lyichir is in the US. Unless you’re switching to the US site, you’re looking at a different pool of GWP sets. Just because it sells out for one region doesn’t mean it sold out everywhere.

I am not that stupid haha Of course I am switching between regions

By in Canada,

In Canada: the castaway was in my cart. I went back to my computer to do the checkout about 2 hours later, and the castaway was no longer in the cart. Also, I refreshed the 'deal' section and that offer disappeared.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Per Lego Customer Service just now:

Ray the Castaway is currently SOLD OUT in the US.
Halloween VIP Add-on Pack is currently SOLD OUT in the US.

Well, so much for that sale. They need to have their GWPs last at least the first days of the sale, Jebus!

NOT GREAT LEGO, NOT GREAT.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Per Lego Customer Service just now:

Ray the Castaway is also currently SOLD OUT in the UK.

Gravatar
By in United States,

darn, can't believe i missed ray the castaway by ~1 hour. im sure the people who got multiple will be having a field day reselling to people like me!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not that I miss the point of having enough Ray GWPs - that should be a given and to the extent LEGO underplanned or otherwise messed up, that's kinda shameful - but there are a lot on Bricklink now at not-insane prices (and no, I don't have one to sell :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hasn’t Ray been available for over a week?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@yellowcastle:
October 1st. I waited to start ordering PAB until then for that very reason.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I am not seeing the Christmas set being added to my cart, must have sold out in UK.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

can't believe ray the castaway is already sold out. I had my heart set on that one and I missed it by a couple hours.

No more GWPs in Hungary either. All three SOLD OUT.

I’m all for getting on LEGO’s case for short lived promotions but 10 days on a “while supplies last” GWP is pretty good for any company but incredible for LEGO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@yellowcastle:
Yeah, they’ve had a few GWPs that were gone in hours, and these Ideas GWPs seem to sell out early every time. I get being happy about stacking up a GWP/points bonanza, but I’d never delay purchasing with the hopes of making it work, especially if it was something I really wanted.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was debating trying for Ray or waiting for the Witch GWP, but it looks like the decision has been made for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I didn't even realize there was a sale. Looks like I missed everything lol. Good timing XD.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

In Spain 40484 is not added to cart when more than 170 € are bought. Is 40566 good enough to get bought?? That is the question!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Spooky VIP pack is apparently back on the US Lego Site, and it was added to my purchase from yesterday. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

Gravatar

@Martin_S:
Online PAB and B&P used to be cut off from qualifying for free shipping or GWPs, but I think they always earned points. They relented some time back and now you can get free shipping and GWPs, but with two catches. One is that you get hit with service fees if you don’t order many parts. The other is that parts are either Bestseller (ships from regional warehouses) or Standard (ships from Billund), but not both. Previously some parts were in both PAB and B&P, and you could pick which format suited your needs, but now you can trigger two service fees, plus shipping, if you’re not careful.

I think where they used to have issues was with people ordering sets that just missed the GWP threshold ($49.99 on a $50 spend), and they’d tack on a nuisance B&P order to add a penny or two to clear that target. When they lose the shipping charge, ship a small set for free, ship one part from Billund (also for free), all for a couple pennies, those parts cost them quite a bit more than they pull in.

By in Canada,

This was so disappointing...I waited to be able to access this special and then on Monday when I went to buy The Office set, it was "sold out", when I checked the online inventory of the three Lego stores in Toronto they were also all sold out.

I stopped by one of them by chance on Wednesday only to discover they had at least five of them in store, despite the fact the website was still saying they're sold out.

They didn't have any Ray the Castaway. It was very disappointing because I really was looking forward to the Ray the Castaway set, it was also annoying that the website suddenly started saying they were all sold out the same day this special (double VIP and GWP) started.

Yes, people buy more when given an incentive to do so. I'm no Lego™ appologist by any means.

But, this was a limited GWP that was out for 10 days. If you jumped on it at midnight (10 MST) you could have had all the goodies. Even at 8 am MST, they were all still available.

Now, you can grab the witch, spooky, and 2x points if you hurry. The Office has been sold out in NA for awhile. I believe shortly after release. If you’re caught up in being an early adopter, you need to be a bit earlier. ;)
