Friends Advent Calendar - Day 4
Posted by MeganL,Yesterday's pink and white popcorn stand looks fitting in the snowy environs, though didn't really fit a festive colour scheme. The calendar is set in a Christmas market, so we have to see some festive builds soon. Will door number 4 be the one?
This build is decidedly festive, with its red and green colouring. However, I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to be. The circle rotates, and there's a skate blade in the bottom. So perhaps it's a skate sharpening machine? Ice-skating is one of the activities at a Christmas market, so that would fit.
At the very least, it has festive colouring!

I wonder if the model need to be orientated in a different position? I'm not familiar with skate sharpening machines but it looks like the disc part is usually parallel with the ground.
According to the internet, it is a "spinning wheel game". I guess the result of the spinning is either red or green, but what happens next?

It explodes. It's really a game you can only play once.
Looks a bit like a wheel of fortune with only two outcomes. I don't what horrifying fate awaits those who have it land on red...
Green will be fine of course. Maybe they even get a 'good' from the machine.
I think if you could get a cross of City minifigures with Friends builds, you would get the perfect advent calendar.
My 7yo got this today and we questioned. So I said it's a spinning wheel. Red is naughty, green is nice lol.
Interestingly, we got the wrong item in day 4. (I wonder if it got swapped or if we'll get 2 of this item).
I was checking here because even after putting it together (using the overall marketing photo), I still couldn't figure out what it was. It's the item that looks like ice on the ground, with flowers on the side and what look like skates in the middle. If anyone has a clue, let me know - thanks!
My initial guess was a slushie machine, but a spinning wheel game is probably correct.
I guess it is what you want it to be!
Just when I thought Friends was gaining in the race for best AC. This is sad. At least it's not a tool rack.
Popcorn game?
I'd definitely vote for "carnival prize wheel".
A wrapped gumball machine?
My daughter thought it was a coin-operated candy/gumball machine. The skate is the part you turn after putting in a coin, and the lower pin hole in the technic piece (which is not very visible in the photo above) is where the candy comes out.

Red: the machine takes the contestand and then the SCP Foundation locks the device up.
@Zordboy:
Maybe set this out in the middle of an open field, far away from any historical buildings?
My 3yo has loved this and played with it all day. We’ve termed it a lottery machine or a wheel of fortune. It is good to see kids with these calendars to get a bit of perspective sometimes.
@NotProfessorWhymzi:
The ice cream isn’t vanilla, is it? Cause if it is, and there aren’t any toppings, I think I’ll take my chances with Biodome.
show a different angle might help
It occurs to me that if you changed the colors on the wheel, it would work well for the Sorting in a Harry Potter Advent calendar, like a smaller version of 4701. You'd just need to include a hat.
@Yooha:
Seems obvious. If you land on red…or if you land on green, you side with Red Green. If you land on one of the cracks, you side with his nephew, Harold.
