Friends Advent Calendar - Day 14

Posted by ,

Yesterday's karaoke set was a little disappointing, though the build may have been considered typical in Friends calendars in years past. It's a good gauge to show that Friends advent calendars have definitely improved! Still, I'm hoping to see a better build behind today's door.

Today we meet Santiago, who has only made one appearance in a set prior to this - in 41720 Water Park earlier this year. Similarly, his body also has only appeared once before this year - in 41683 Forest Horseback Riding Centre.

Santiago is cute as a button, and has some fabulous hair - which, like Santiago, has only been seen once before.

That's one impressive hairdo!
And finally a new character! It's been a while!

I had hair like that as a kid.

"Heed move yer gian' cranium! I'm tryin' to watch the telly."

"Look at the size of that boy's head. I'm not kidding. It's like an orange on a toothpick!"

The hair also appeared in the Madrigal house set in black before.

Aw dang, I need a minifig-torso with that print.

And also, an adult-sized sweater with that print.

Gotta be honest, I’d feel a little ripped off if this is what counted as a “minifig” in any of my ACs. Throw some sort of accessory in there to add some bulk to the bag.

If they did they wouldn't have had room for the world's most glorious hairdo to grace us with its presence. Like it or not, but today we get about 50% hair and 50% microdoll.

(I still agree though. They should have added at least one accesory.)

@Binnekamp:
Something. I mean, even if you count the hair twice, that’s only four parts, which matches Rocket. Rocket also got articulation, and the next day built a giant gun. This kid can only shake his head to indicate displeasure at being less articulated than a 70’s plank minifig, and probably not soon to be gifted a handheld howitzer (just speaking from experience; I didn’t peel ahead!). Then again, with such tiny little hands, he can’t hold much besides feathers, flowers, bows, or sunglasses that don’t even have temples to hold them on your face. Minidolls should totally come with a pin hole drilled right into their nose so they can actually use their sunglasses as something besides a barrette.
