Still odd. Good to see they finally made it in black. I had an idea for a Bat-copter, but it needed one of these, and dark-brown is not a color Batman likes to build in.
"Crosshole" sounds vaguely naughty, or is that just me?
@TheOtherMike
I get a bit of a crosshole after a spicy meal, myself.

I wear red so the bad guys don’t see me bleed. This guy’s got the right idea, he’s built a dark brown copter
“Yes, the floor here is made out of floor.”
"Crosshole w/Hole"...must be from the "Redundant Department of Redundancy"...

Had they not done it in really really dark grey?
Ah, the part that is most memorably debuted in 9468 Vampyre Castle for the moonstone apparatus. It was also used on stuff like 70702 Warp Stinger's legs. My favorite uses are the horns of 71310 Umarak the Hunter and the tree branches of 70420 Graveyard Mystery.
According to Bricklink it appeared in 2010 in 2000426 EV3 Accessory Pack. But all the other accesories for EV3 came out around 2013-2014, so occam's razor would suggest the 2010 date is an error and this part didn't debut 2 years early in a random pack.
@Purple Dave, even Batman could use it for a Bat-Copter. It apparently came in black in 4 sets!
Interesting, a Technic piece used in several themes but Technic...
I like this piece and the honeycomb patterns you can make with multiples of them. Very good for getting a hexagon shape, although the axle version is a bit easier to use.
I remember recently from the helicopter in 60193 , where you don't get many sabre toothed tigers in Lego City sets. Didn't realize there were 19 in the Ferris Wheel 10247 . I wonder if they will ever make a 4-branch connector or axle?
@Kynareth:
I did no such thing. The only thing I’ve built in brown recently is the Home Alone garage, and that’s because Harry and Marv were getting the literal crap beat out of them. And also because the set is reddish-brown. And also because the real house is brown. The garage isn’t, but it was before it was torn down.
@Brickalili:
No, it hasn’t.
@Binnekamp:
I did mention that.
@xccj:
You could combine them, with one in the “Y” orientation, and the other in the inverse.
@ambr:
There aren’t any with axles, but there’s one with four bars, and another with four clips.
I have a friend who currently lives and works at the Vatican. (Yes, he's a priest.) I suspect that there's some colleagues he may find...let's say "frustrating". Maybe those people would be considered "crossholes".
A technic part that only ever been used in system sets, apart from one Bionicle reboot.
