The site has put me in a waiting room and l can't get in
Wow already queuing up online. Reminds me of the old days of Star Wars sets at Toys R Us.
Worked fine once I got through the queue.
Sweated through the queue, done!
Shockingly, I had no queue and no issues whatsoever with my order. Got the Loop Coaster and both GWPs!
l was disappointed that l had to use two different orders in order to get the exclusive dragon set. I got the coaster and got $80 off with a code, then l tried to get the dragon with a code but it said l was only allowed one promo code at a time.
Queue refreshed 3 times for me and I was in and ordered. Merry VIP Day.
Got my order in, but can't use two codes at once, was afraid of that. 60 days to make another order and tack on the Dragon Ride. Freebies are nice, but I wish they wouldn't make it so convoluted. Hopefully having purchased the voucher means I have one secured--but I somehow doubt it...

Same here with the Atari 2600. I thought VIP discount codes could be combined with physical promotions, i.e. only one physical promotion per order, but otherwise open.
Waited in the queue for 2 minutes, then was able to get 76405 Hogwarts Express - Collector's Edition. I used the VIP discount and cashed in my VIP points. Cost me $50. And I got both GWPs.
^ same. Ordered the 2600. You'd think a direct purchase thing like the dragon ride would be allowed beside a coupon, but nope.
I didn't see the baking set added to my cart, did anyone else have that problem?

I bought the Loop Coaster and it wasn’t added because the Icons sets weren’t included in the promotion for the baking set. Neither are the Ideas sets or any of the licensed themes.

Yes, it will be reserved. I've claimed lots of VIP rewards weeks after they've gone out of stock. The only one I've had a problem with was an Art Print, which was obviously more prone to being damaged in the warehouse.
The baking set is added only if purchasing City, Classic, Creator, Dots, Duplo, Friends, or Ninjago.
Got the Motorised Lighthouse and City Train Station plus all 3 GWPs and Dragon Ride plus Retro Keyring.
Plus Elf Kid and Santa keyrings for good measure.
My only disappointment was that I got the Loop Coaster last month!
(The City Train Station has been on Amazon for ages, but never below RRP ... will probably be half price next week)

I posted this in the comments on the Dragon Ride article, but I'll do so again here.
I reached out to customer service Friday when I noticed that the "VIP Weekend Discount" offers were classified as Promo Codes rather than Discount Codes.
The kind and helpful representative said that this appeared to be a flaw in how the web team had set things up:
""At the end of the day, a code for money off, is still a voucher. I can only assume they made it a "promo code" because this is only a small promotion for the time being, as opposed to the discount vouchers which are forever.""
They advised me to place an order with the Dragon Ride code and then reach out to customer service again to retroactively to have the VIP Weekend Discount offer applied. I anticipate it will end up being the equivalent value of VIP points added to the account to use as a Discount Code on a future purchase rather than a rebate/refund. So I'll be contacting customer service during business hours tomorrow/today.

Two schools of thought on this. One, it cost you $50, and if this is your last Lego purchase for a while, that's great!
If you plan on buying more stuff over the next 18 months (VIP points expire 18 months after your most recent purchase), then you shouldn't use VIP points during a 2x VIP promotion period. You could have paid the $400 and gotten the $40 in VIP points, and then you'd have $390 in your VIP account. For example, you could then buy an Eiffel Tower on release date for $240. Now you have $5, so the Eiffel would cost $625.
$50 + $625 = $675
$400 + $240 = $640
I once ordered a $200 set over the phone during a double rewards and the associate asked if I wanted to redeem VIP points. I said no. She said "good decision."
Refreshed and got through the queue in like 7 minutes or so.
Got my order in and gots me some freebie action (Lego House tribute and the Winter Elves).
Forgot it was double points too!
Thought I'd get that other parts/accessories poly-bag, but wasn't there at checkout.
Definitely quicker this time around. I remember last time not being able to check out and ended up doing it later in the morning like 7am or so.
Rock on homies. Hope ya'll got some nice Xmas gifts.
It’s been a very successful shopping experience this morning. Got 10303 with lots of discount and 2 GWPs too.
No queues got razorcrest with £100 discount both GWP paid over 3 months with paypal. Very smooth transaction
Did LEGO state that the discount vouchers were limited in number and could possibly sell out?

If you mean the Fun and Funky VIP addon that finished yesterday and starts again after the Black Friday weekend.

No they didn’t but there may be a limit based on how much of the item you get a discount on they had in stock at the start of the promotion. If they had X Loop Coasters to sell you wouldn’t want to offer more than X discount vouchers

Ha! Way to be helpful. I remember making the same mistake until a kindly store employee drew my attention to the same mathematical certainty. It was a head slap moment.
The same applies with Costco cash back. I used to buy my groceries with the check until an employee told me that some people just ask for cash. You have cash for travel or whatnot and get more credit to your account a larger cash rebate later.
Of course, this whole equation is only pertinent for people without credit card debt. If you pay interest on purchases, then you're better off using your points right away to minimize debt.
Amazing how many people - like me - bought the Loop Coaster today. rather goes to show that it was overpriced before, but (more, it's still expensive) reasonably priced with the discount; at least reasonably priced enough for people to pile in!
Got through the queue at twelve o'clock fairly quickly, and bought the Camaro at a discount, the space puzzle, mini Disney castle and a bunch of parts, with the two GWPs.
On the unability to add more than one promo code, and the baking set: this was all described in the terms and conditions beforehand. I thinks it's always good to read those before making your move.
Bought Loop and Hogwarts Express on different transactions with discounts. Does anyone know yet if they are strictly enforcing the one-per-household limit on GWPs like they did last year?
The were so strict with 40484 that even when it was a GWP again in June, I had an order canceled because I had already received one last Nov.
Ok so I wanted to redeem a discount for The Loop for 100 points and it is sold out.
A virtual ticket for a discount that should last until tomorrow can be sold out, this is new. Is it me or there was no prior announcement the quantity of these tickets is limited?

Depends if you're on the Naughty or Nice list!

Oh... I'm definitely screwed then. ;0
Amazingly, the Titanic came back into stock this morning. Been on the fence about it for a while, it has been coming in and out of stock for just a few hours each time, for the last year!
I quess 10% with double points, cashback and gifts made it a bit more palatable even with the price increase.
Didn't expect to spend £600 today!
Have to say the purchase was trouble free, for once.
@JasoMac said:

I didn’t get that one either, but when I double checked it became clear it was only applicable for certain themes like Dots, Friends, City, … (I bought the big castle).
Wasn’t a GWP I was gunning for anyway.
I was on the fence regarding the lighthouse for over two months, especially given the price of course. Getting it with double points and two nice gifts now finally makes it worthwhile for me. Looking forward to building and displaying that beautiful set!

Ditto the Hogwarts Express. $399 (in line with 71043 and 75978 at their original prices) is a whole lot more palatable than $499.
Got myself the train today but still a bit annoyed you can’t redeem the cashback and the dragon on one order…
Is there any reason to buy now instead of Black Friday next weekend? What's the difference between the events?
Basically now is for VIPs only and include the Black Friday GWPs, and next week is for any non-VIPs
Also any VIP only deals may be sold out by then. I thought someone above said they tried to purchase something that has sold out already
Double points in US is only today and Sunday
Thank,s for the information! After reading this, yesterday night in Europe, at 1:00 I bought the 10305 Lion knights' Castle, so I received the GWP 40564 Winter Elves Scene, 40563 Tribute to LEGO House and, using the VIP points, I got 6427894 Dragon Adventure Ride too!! Great bought!!
and 6000 VIP points more!!
I paid 399,00 EUR, but at least, I got some good sets!!
Hogwarts Express is on its way. Strangely enough, I don’t feel like I got a great deal even with an immediate $100 discount, 2 GWPs and a $40 credit for future purchase. I pulled the trigger simply because it felt like if I didn’t take advantage of these offers, I would never own the set.
Added up some small and medium sets to hit the threshold for all the GWPs on the button. Wiped out our wishlist. No problems checking out at 12:10am EST.
Almost glad the VIP discount coupons weren't available in Canada. Called the exact issue people are having when they were announced.
I cannot find the Dragon Adventure Ride. Is it sold out?

Its under rewards > VIP Weekend 2002
If you still dont see it, try clearing your browser cache. I had to last night as rewards wasn't pulling up for me until i did that. Good luck!
Woke up at 2am. Bought the Loop coaster with discount. Got 2 of the 3 GWPs. Didn’t get the baking set…..not disappointed.

Most importantly, this weekend is double points, Black Friday isn't.
Managed to snag some xmas presents for my son, and something for myself, in order to get the Elves and the LEGO House GWPs. Smooth transaction. Definitely a good idea to buy this weekend vs. next.
Bought a Minifigure pack to get the dragon ride since it is a code that requires a purchase of something. My VIP points were expiring so I’m happy. Lego prices are so ridiculous in the last few years that I haven’t really purchased anything over $100 since the Old Fishing Store (one of the best bang for the buck in the last decade) and the limited edition Star Wars Bespin set. I’m interested in the lighthouse currently but it is $150 too expensive (what on earth is Lego smoking this year).
Not that I resell Lego, but the secondary market for new Lego is also pricing Lego low which is a strong indicator of how overpriced Lego.com is.
@ra226:
Under ideal circumstances, the number of codes they allow to be used will precisely match the number of reward items. However, stuff happens. Things get lost, dropped, run over by a forklift, etc. If you’re the last person to redeem your code, and they tan short for whatever reason, you’re the one who gets left out. They may hold spares back, just for this reason, but why take chances? If you claim a code, don’t sit on it forever. If nothing else, it reduces the chances your code is about to expire and you can’t find one thing on your list that isn’t sold out or retired.
@Reg:
They did rebate codes last year that got you double the normal rebate for the points spent, and those would sell out. They also have limited physical stock of sets, and these codes don’t last the normal 60 days, so if you want one, jump on it and place your order right away.
@jh84007:
Or it goes to show how, when offered a deal of any sort, people will buy anything, even if they don’t really want it.
@Patrik78:
Call customer service, and see what your options are. They may put it on backorder status before the weekend is over, so those with unused codes aren’t shut out.
@Doctor_Hugh:
Double points this weekend, sale prices next…it may work out better for some people to wait, but it’s hard to know when we don’t have a list of sale items.
@morvit:
Any purchases made with a VIP account reset the expiration date on any accumulated points. All it takes is a little activity to keep them from going up in a puff of smoke, even if you’re not using them.
Ordered Home Alone house and Lunar New Year Ice Festival. Would’ve liked the baking set but couldn’t justify spending any more on anything to qualify. Maybe next weekend I might spend my points.

Update: I sent an email since the chat was busy. A few hours later, I received VIP points equivalent to the value of the VIP Weekend Discount Code (I got the one for the Camaro), and they even added back the 100 points I redeemed for the voucher. Fantastic customer service!
