Last chance to redeem Dragon Adventure Ride
Posted by CapnRex101,
The annual LEGO VIP weekend, in advance of Black Friday, is nearing its end.
While many of the current promotions will return on Friday, 5007428 Dragon Adventure Ride is expected to depart tonight.
The second of these Bricktober sets, 5007427 Pirate Adventure Ride, will then be available from the 25th of November, again costing 2400 VIP points like the dragon ride.

Didn’t know there was going to be a second one - thanks for the info. Hopefully my order from yesterday will be processed before the next vip reward hits so I have a spare 2400 pts. I wonder how we can get our hands on the third and forth bricktober pieces as it would be nice to get the collection - OCD kicking in :-)
For the point cost… meh.
But people should still check the VIP Rewards page, there’s a new sweepstakes for winning one million VIP Points. I checked the other VIP thread and there’s no mention of this…
Will certainly get the Pirate Adventure too. I'm glad that the 60 day limit for reclaiming takes us past the CNY and Jan 1st releases.

It is a pity that in Italy there is no lottery for one million vip points. Perhaps due to the slightly more stringent regulations on sweepstakes compared to the rest of Europe. Strange, because companies of the caliber of Lego should have no difficulty in dealing with them. What a shame.
I'm broke
If I redeem it tonight and get the code, I do still get 2 months to actually place the order, right?

Same question from me, would be grateful if someone could confirm.
Really don’t think this is worth the £15 worth of points

Yes, 60 days.
It always states how long the code is valid for on the page before you confirm (old ones were only 30 days).

That is how I read it and planning it that way. Otherwise Lego will get an unhappy call from me. I can complain to service reps long enough that it costs them more to talk to me then to get me what I should get.
Don't make the same mistake as me, I redeemed points for the discount off the Loop Coaster and the Dragon Ride, then realised that Lego would only let me enter one promo code per order, so I had to make another order to get the Dragon Ride!

Ouch. Now that is scummy. A phone call may have fixed that though.
Weird that 5007427 wasn't mentioned until now...
Fortunately I ordered on Saturday at 01:00 am and I will get more points after buying 10305 Lion Knights' Castle!
Thinking about getting 5007427 Pirate Adventure Ride next weeked...
@bassplate: I had the same thing happen to me with 10306. Oh, well, gave me an excuse to pick up 41712 and 76912 for the second order!

We only found out that 5007427 Pirate Adventure Ride would be available next week this afternoon. Presumably the remaining two will also be distributed at some point within the next month or so.

You are right, but don't assume that the set will remain available at the time of the actual order. It happened to me with a small 500pt vip prize (the tropical parrot) which then sold out even if it was added to the order well within the expected time frame. It may have been an isolated and unfortunate case, but since then I don't consider redeeming a code as a warehouse reservation.
However, the super-kind and thoughtful customer assistance still sent me a padded yellow envelope for free with all the pieces of the set (including the extra ones!) via the pick a brick service. :-)
@TheOtherMike --made same exact order. Used coupon for Atari, then couldn't add code (already redeemed) for Dragon Ride. It's going to be complicated collecting all 4 if that's peoples' goals. You'll have to make four separate orders, none of which can use other codes--and the rides add nothing to get you to the free shipping goal. I miss the old days where you'd just add points to your order to get a discount. The new system (I realize it's not really new anymore) sure is convoluted.
Re: the sweepstakes--you can enter it once a day, for 10 times total, don't forget to go back every day! And I'm very surprised it's not more widely available since usually those laws pertain to gambling--but there's nothing being gambled here since it's zero points to enter, go figure.
This year’s VIP weekend offering was hard to gauge for me as an adult builder and collector. It wasn’t a slam dunk decision for me. I love both collecting and building lego. I love unique pieces and prints. I also just love looking at the box art.
I hope 40564, 40563 prove to have enough of these qualities to justify my/our VIP efforts.
I missed out on the Sanctum 76108 from 2018.
After some internal debate, I selected Sanctum 76218 @ $249.99 (can’t find it for less, yet)
I like the purchase includes 2x VIP, plus GWPs 40564 & 40563.
I did redeem 2400 pts for Dragon Adventure Ride. The fact that 5007428 is one of four Bricktober 2022 sets, makes extra nice display ability in my opinion, even though not a lot of special/printed parts included.
After the weekend purchase and redeeming, I am satisfied and fully accept I am addicted to building and collecting lego. I earned over 3000 points for the next Pirate ship ride redeem.
Happy VIP Weekend!

I'm sorry folks have made multiple orders to get the Dragon Ride and use VIP Weekend vouchers. I posted this in the comments on the Friday and Saturday Brickset articles about VIP Weekend, but unfortunately folks have missed it so I will post yet again.
Redeem your Dragon Ride code, then contact customer service about your "VIP Weekend Discount" code (which was for some reason classified as a "Promo Code" rather than a "Discount Code"). They'll make sure you get credit for the VIP Weekend Discount. I had one for the $30 off the Camaro and customer service gave me $30 worth of VIP points, and even returned the 100 VIP points I redeemed for my VIP Weekend Discount code.
Once VIP Weekend Discount codes (which were limited to one per item per person) are over, you'll still be able to use normal VIP Discount codes in combination with the other rides, since "Discount" and "Promo" codes are classified differently. You can use one Promo per order but as many Discount as you want. The past couple of years Lego has offered discounted Discount codes ($5 for 325 points instead of 650, $20 for 1300 instead of 2600) during Brick Friday/Cyber Monday weekend, and I anticipate that may happen again. The Pirate Ride launches Nov. 25, so hopefully you'll be able to use all those points you've just earned to get it, and since you have 60 days to redeem you will have access to the new Lunar New Year sets on Dec. 25 and tons more on Jan. 1. Or maybe there will be a Brick Friday/Cyber Monday sale on another set you want!
I'm curious what the "new gift with purchase" on Cyber Monday (Nov. 28) will be. Last year it was a fleece blanket with $200 purchase.
I Just missed it! This is the only one I wanted... :(

I really hope all 4 sets become available eventually. I've never been able to collect Brictober sets. It's a real treat for me to have access to these.
I'm glad they are giving us a chance to get the other Bricktober sets. Hope the third one is the Spaceship Ride even though I already have two of the previous rocket ship one. One of those proudly uses one of my Stitch Minifigs as the rider. The Fantasy one is just okay so I won't be heartbroken if they don't offer it.
@1pixel: There's a reason I've long been a fan not just of Lego's products, but their customer service. I've never had a bad experience with them. Like you, I had a nice experience with them regarding 30581. I placed an order, then changed my mind about what I wanted to get it with, and cancelled the order, thinking that would free up the code for re-use. When that turned out not to be the case, I called Lego CS and was able to get a new code for the set.

Correct, just remember only one code per order.
When I think of VIP points, I use them to “claim” a code, and I “redeem” the code to get the prize, so the wording on this is a bit confusing.
@1pixel:
I’ve been warning people about this since the coins, but this might be the first time someone confirmed my fear. If they input the wrong quantity into their system, if they misplace some, if an employee steals some, if they get water-damage, if they get driven over by a forklift, if they accidentally ship orders to the wrong address, if the shipping companies accidentally deliver orders to the wrong address…all these and more can cause them to run short. For sets you buy, they have time to delete them from inventory, but these codes could all be claimed in a very short timeframe, and shipping can take two months to sort out. A lot can happen in those two months.
@woosterlegos:
In my day, Bricktober sets were a brick, and you liked it! Because if you got all four, they made an image of an undead skeleton, which was pretty cool.

Wish I was you!
I used to be... up until the pandemic. Since then, I've had endless problems (like a LOT of people) with placing orders, canceled orders, VIP products, bad shipping, non-existent shipping, crushed items. You name it! My interactions with customer service since 2020 are 50% great! and 50% obnoxiously rude.
It seemed that Lego had turned the corner as my last few interactions were great. But, the last two have gone horribly- untrained agents who had no clue about Lego's new policies (giving VIP points for in-store purchases of damaged boxes rather than discount), and had no power to handle basic issues (adding VIP points back to my account for limit-exceeding purchase of Clone Trooper Command- which in the U.S. is 5 per household forever!).
Hopefully, they spend some of the record profits making things better. :(

Hmm... A Brick Bag. I don't think I'll be struggling too hard to meet that threshold!
