“Here we see the previously-unheard-of duckbilled platybrick eating a Combos snack.”

If this brick didn't exist, I wouldn't miss it. Have only a few. Never used them in a MOC yet.

I'd like to have this brick in red (I would like to have lots of parts in red!) For one of my moc, this would be the ideal solution. Instead I had to replace it with about 5 other pieces. Lego parts in basic colours (Legoland flag colour = yellow, red, blue, white, black) are becoming extremely rare. White and black are fairly common along with grey and dark grey.

@ElephantKnight:
I don’t think I’ve ever used one in a MOC, but they work very well as a medium-strength catch for a structure that splits open, so they show up in a lot of sets. A weaker form of this keeps the clip but replaces this with a click hinge (this is used to hold the front wall panels closed on Home Alone 21330, as a full bar connection would probably make it likely that you’d rip the wall panels apart when you try to open them).

That's definitely where I have seen this part used most. I guess I just don't build things that hinge open.

Whenever I see a piece like this all I can think of is how useful it is to run string through it.

If only you could get a rollerskate on the end, would make a pretty good suitcase

By in France,

I used this in the same color (light grey) for a microbuild recently : a concrete roadblock (so they can be attached together).

@Brickalili:
There’s actually a spinner-style suitcase now, so it’s even easier.
