Well, I give them points for trying. It's only half an arch!

(read in TF2 Soldier voice)
bah, participation awards... what is this world coming to? back in my day, we either got straight A's, or the teacher beat the crap out of every single one of us, and tried to strangle us with our own shoelaces! and we thanked him for it!
(in case other comment gets deleted for being "off-topic.")
is this the beginning of Lego getting curvy?

Macaroni corner bricks existed long before this, but this was one of the most versatile curved slopes they created, and significantly changed the aesthetic of sets in the mid 90s.
I’m always surprised at how old this piece is! I always think of the way it’s used as lights on 6416 Poolside Paradise.
It's the sitting-and-kneeling brick! That's really all I seem to use it for these days. Two of these instead of minifig legs, and you've got a sitting minifig. Replace one of them with a headlight brick with a cheese wedge on the front, and now they're kneeling. Fortunately, all of these parts come in Green Army Man green.
Duck bill to me. Quack.
Given that the curve should be about 2.5 plates tall, is there any reason why this part is 4 rather than 3 plates tall?
My first encounter with this part was 5920 Island Racer... in a video game, but still. I got this set many years later and I just love its design.
For me, these will always be 'Jungle Adventurers statue / temple decorations'. Especially in red, where I first encountered the part in 5906; though 5936 also had them (in grey this time), which only strengthens that association in my mind.
Out of all the parts TLC makes, I have found this one to be the hardest to describe to someone verbally.
Gargoyle heads and more from 6090 Royal Knight's Castle and elements of 6250 Crossbone Clipper is what I see here--but it is WAY more common than that now.
Christmas was yesterday, but I will always give Huwbot points for trying to make a candy cane.

That's my favorite Adventurers set! I've made one in green and blue as well as original red, but can't seem to make the design any better as you can't beat perfection!
