I got all of the horizontal knobs up and out of the house today. It's back to just my family. Whew! Holidays can be exhausting.

Looks like it ate too much for Christmas dinner.

Yes! The younger ones. They're like glazed doughnuts. Walking bacterial traps.

Ok, but seriously, what’s the Bricksetter verdict on this piece? Is it legitimately useful or an overly exotic SNOT brick that can be replaced by other techniques? I’d enjoy seeing some examples of how to use this part to its strengths.

The fun is in watching all the people who have particularly ... colorful ... jokes regarding piece names struggle to not tell those jokes.

It seemed cool and innovative at the time, but the 2x2 version has proven to be much more versatile. I'm not sure I've _ever_ used this in a MOC.

I'd hazard a guess that it's suited to bigger portions of a build where its larger footprint (2x6 base and 1x4 SNOT) provides additional sturdiness. 21331 sees several of this lining the base, which IMO was a good use of it. Otherwise the 2x2 version, as mentioned, is more versatile.

By in Netherlands,

I think it's a great piece for car fronts and the studs on side allow to secure it in place, shown in many 6 wide official car builds for example.

And while this can be done with multiple smaller parts, this still allows it to be done without needing extra plates for reinforcement, as seen on a 6 -wide car front, usually attached by about 4 studs , then this piece sideways, and then a piece on top to lock it in place.

@LegoSonicBoy:
So what I've usually encountered is that, especially for 6-wide cars, this is just too bulky. While the studded front may be suitable, the tabs on the side would intersect the tires on most of my designs. At best, I could maybe use this if it was flipped on edge so the "4 Hor" studs face upwards, but that would still be too bulky on any vehicles that aren't black, since I'd need to add a black plate behind any grille tiles. On a 6-wide, the 2x2 version nests cleanly between two fenders, and anchors to the rest of the vehicle just fine.
