If this is the right panel, are all other panels wrong panels?

I wonder how they figure out which one to label as Right, and which as Left. Flip a coin?

Well if you were a minfigure, sitting in the cockpit of a spaceship that used these kinds of panels as the pointy front wingtips, this one would be on your right and the other one on your left. See 5981-1
