Cockpit and shaft? I'm sorry, this is all just a bit too much!

This 2017 cockpit from Nexo Knights is actually still used in other themes, unlike https://brickset.com/parts/6240035

My favorite use of this in the dark blue color is for Battle Suit Robin, where it is used as a shield , from a build your own adventure book.

Good to see @Huwbot hasn't lost its bawdy sense of humor...

I may be misremembering, but My favorite use of this part was in the head of 72004 it doesn't go together perfectly, but i think it looks cool

The name isn’t wrong considering the location it appears on 80028 (check the additional images)

By in Canada,

Is it called no 1 because it doubles as a bedpan somehow?

@MeisterDad:
That would be a No2. No1 would just be a basic chamber pot.

Called a cockpit but mostly seems to be a decorative fin

@Brickalili:
To be fair, with this shape, it’d only really work as a vertical cockpit like the original B5 Starfuries, but it’s probably too small to allow easy placement of minifigs.

@PurpleDave
Which raises the question of why categorise it as a cockpit at all, if the design doesn’t allow it and the intent was never there there in the first place

The transparent version was used as a cockpit 4 times for Nexo Knights in 2018 (most notably 72003 : Berserker Bomber)

Which makes me think if the design was already made, since it's used in 2017 sets, but only later implemented as actual cockpit as 2018 Nexo Knight wave seems to have been a change of direction, rather then intended future for the theme since there were Forest and Water monsters shown in a few books, artwork and such before the 2018 tech-vampire monsters were.

The official ending for Nexo Knights (via the TV show) happened in 2017 with the Lightning Monsters, 2018 did have a comic via magazines as unofficial ending but that wasn't released worldwide.
