What is presumably the first in this year's series of matching seasonal sets has been listed at LEGO.com.

40639 Bird's Nest, which consists of an adult bird, two chicks and a number of eggs on a nest, will be released on 1st February, and it looks delightful!

By in Singapore,

I wish we still had the seasonal vignettes

By in United States,

Looks like an oriole, but I’m not sure their eggs come in those colors…

By in Canada,

It does look delightful! It's one of those little Lego sets that just makes you smile. Thanks, Huw:)

'Delightful' is the right adjective.

Yes, exactly. It looks delicious. :)

By in United States,

Anything with song birds is an instant purchase for my household (31143 is already on the way). I'm not usually allowed to build them. :(

But, it keeps the peeps happy! :)

By in United States,

The cockatoo, the macaw, the birdhouse, and now this! Somebody at Lego really likes birds this year!

As a bird lover myself, I think these sets are fantastic. Keep em coming!

By in United States,

Ready for it to be impossible to find this year, and all over the place in 2024? Every seasonal set these days...

Gravatar
By in United States,

lol another foing be sold out set....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Needs some SNOT remodelling on the right hand chick to make a better "open" beak look, but otherwise nice.

Gravatar
By in United States,

At first glance, I thout it was a ship, and the branch out to the right the bowsprit.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Looks nice, hopefully not as quickly sold out as 40523: Easter Rabbits Display

By in Belgium,

Surprised that for once there is no Valentine's Day vignette, unless 40638 is supposed to be the first item in the series?

Ontopic: what a lovely little set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Awww, that’s too cute! I also like that it’s less specific to Easter and more just general “spring.”

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those EYES... I think they're judging me harshly for my ignorance of ornithology...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Does that one on the right have it's mouth open, or does it have two beaks?
I'm more scared of these than in awwwwwwww of these......

I don't. They displayed poorly, particularly at a short distance away.

By in Canada,

A year ago, a Lego Fan rep joined one of our LUG'S chats. The one comment my wife and I gave was, "More Birds", and here we are. :)

Love it. Really need sets like this right now.

The first step of the build is to cover one’s head with a linen napkin. Some say it’s to mask the shame; others, to heighten the pleasure.

My thought as well, I get what they're going for and there's not a lot of room to work there, but if that bottom tooth plate was flipped it'd look better. Maybe replace the 1x1 plate between them with a pink or red one to look like the inside of the bird's mouth too? Still, the set's pretty cute as-is.

By in Netherlands,

Eén ei is geen ei. Twee ei is een half ei. Drie ei is een paasei!
(don't bother translating this....it still won't make any logical sense...)

Oh, and I guess no Easter Bunny because it finally got melted?

Splendid set. I’m thrilled it’s not a GWP and hope I can add it to my existing Birds stuff.

It looks a little bit English, and German, but not really any of them, so I guess it is Dutch. :)
Something with eggs?

Dutch indeed, terrible math with eggs....

By in Portugal,

If LEGO isn't going to respect the sanctity of Easter, they could at least spare us these secular sets to try to erase the importance of the season...

I wish they would bring back the seasonal vignettes too, it's been a while since the last Easter vignette.

By in Mozambique,

it is a quaint little set, I like the colors.
Frankly I'm just glad it's not another build celebrating the pagan goddess of fertility, like the last one was.

By in United States,

This is so cute. At first I thought this was a robin, but they have a dark head. According to pictures on Google this looks like an orange-headed thrush, which has an orange head and chest with dark gray wings, from India and southeast Asia.

@kwickbrick:
The American Robin (my state bird, and one of my childhood cat’s favorite snacks) is also known as a “red-breasted robin” because the breast is a fairly bright red. Also, look up “oriole”.

As this is numbered 40639 and the Heart Ornament is numbered 40638, my guess is that the seasonal/holiday sets this year are not "matching" in the same way as past years.
