Looks like the middle part (bellows, I think it's called?) on a accordion...

I shall henceforth dub it the "Accordion brick"!

By in Netherlands,

From the sets I have with this, this is more often used for it's 2-high Plate function instead of it's "design" (grille)

Lots of City vehicles tend to hide all sorts of stuff in a chassis , like those, or 2 plate high mudguards, or when 2x16 plates are used, often on the bottom, vehicles even tend to reduce the amount of connected studs with tiles inbetween.

Of course this functions way more then just a 2 plate high brick, the axle hole is great, and decoration on all 4 sides is nice as well.

By in Canada,

The 1x2 brick version has both horizontal and vertical ridges, this one is only horizontal. And despite owning many of the sets (mostly Stuntz) that has this piece, I’ve yet to see it myself. The kids built all the Stuntz so I should check it out for myself.

@Murdoch17:
I was thinking one of the old-style Shredded Wheat biscuits, but I don't think they've made those since the late 1900's. At least, I don't remember the last time I saw them.

Good ol' "Plicks"

Squashed brick, or stretched plate? You decide!

hmmm. honestly don’t think I’ve come across that one but could very well be in one of my unopened sets

My remember my dad eating those as a kid. Totally forgot about it until I watched Ted Lasso

My dad ate them, too. I remember being super excited to try one myself, but was horribly disappointed to find out that it was plain, unlike its younger cousin, Frosted Mini Wheats.

I think it’s a cool brick. I was helping my son clean his room yesterday and I encountered a few of these from his set 60287 Tractor. This would be handy to add some texture to buildings.

Book page corners.

By in Poland,

I just got my first one of these yesterday from 11964 and today it's rpotd. I think it's a cool piece to incorporate in spacey mocs, it imitates rubbery connections quite well. Wish I had more of these.

Oh yeah, I was building 60383 yesterday, and it has one in it.
My first thought was "waffles".

By in United Kingdom,

I can just hear the accordion noises coming from this…

By in Netherlands,

It's ridged.

I like it.

I'm looking at it and thinking I've never seen this brick before, and low and behold there is one in 60345 - which I was/am going to get round to building today! It's like BrickSet knows...

Also a good part for light greebling but does not come in many colours - yet.

Its side grilles looks like they should be useful, but they're not. Because the part is 2 plates tall, and because the grilles go around every corner, we still can't use it as the long-missing corner piece for the 1x2 grille bricks.

Like like a perfect part for making 4-way steppers in Technic MOCs!

"Oh no, someone stepped on a poor 2x2 brick..."

Heh, I was just thinking this must be the result when an elephant steps on a 2x2 brick. :)

You can if you stack the bricks two high and this plate three high.
