Judging by how long it took to get from the first tri-beam to the first quint-beam (this year), by the time they make the first septa-beam, I should be dead of old age!
BTW, I would have loved to have that quint-beam when I was designing Starro.
^ What is even more interesting is that it was introduced in 2012, lay dormant for five years, and returned in 2017.
Wish I could get two of these parts in Pearl Gold for set 21038 !
This might be one of the rarest pieces.
Is there a piece that looks like it? I have none of the sets but i do have this piece (or something similar)

Part 32125, first released in 1997. BrickLink has one entry for both part numbers so I'm not sure what the difference is.

Or maybe part 2712, dating from as far back as 1986 in 8640. Featuring toothed connections at each end - something I liked about 1980s Technic, though admittedly prone to breaking.
I've been doing several designs with this one as a key part this week. Quite the coincidence that it's come up on RSOTD.

"It's funny how this Technic piece was used in only 1 small Technic set but also in 27 non-Technic sets."
I have 13 of this piece. 12 in the Spring Lantern Festival 80107 and 1 in 21047.
