Specifically the 2x2 plate which comes with the various Spinjistu sets? Nifty.

Anyone know the history behind this particular part having a different design number, yet only appearing in 17 sets from 2011 to 2015? It's odd because the other part, 3022, is still in production, having appeared in the other 9058 sets that have used 2x2 plates

In other words...lore?

Given the sets involved, are we looking at the "Made in China" variant?

I think all the spinners and CMFs were manufactured in different factories to the regular sets, I believe I read somewhere that they were made in China, but don’t quote me on that.

The parts have a very slight lower quality appearance to them, usually.

Oh great. Another part variant ai have to watch for when completing sets from Ninjago spinners.

Aw. I looked at this and I thought that it was the regular 2x2. Disappointing.

It's no 2x4, but at least it wasn't 1x5. 1x5 just ain't right.

Nice and basic...

Also, I find it funny and weird that many Lego parts name mimic/sound like 'construction lingo':
"Hey, got any 2x4s?":)

One of my favourites. The Noah flat.

Is this real? Bricklink doesn’t list this part. It’s part on the lists for Njg spinners is 3022. 3022 seems to be the only 2x2 plate that Brickset lists….?

Time to get my microscope.
I might own a few of these so let's check all my 2X2 Plates

It's so weird to look at one of the basic LEGO plate designs, been around for decades and used everywhere, and only see 49,000 owners. LEGO makes life really tough on parts trackers...3022 was the part number for so many decades, why change now? (Shakes head)

You should watch the first Lego Movie. The construction site sequence does that exactly. Be warned, it has an earworm of a song playing at the same time.

Side note: "Everything is Awesome" is much better than anything written / used after for the subsequent films! (There, I said it. Take that, Jim Croce!)

Ok everyone, time to go through all your 2x2 plates and separate out these particular ones. Good luck.

Yes, this is the Chinese variant. 1x2 bricks, boat studs, and a few clips also have different part IDs. AFAIK, none of these are functionally different.

The Dark Pink version is exclusive to this version of 2x2 plate.

It isn't. This is a relatively rare ID variant! When I saw the 49K hnumber I thought it can't be right. I have at least 8000 of them by myself, although not logged here."

Yep, I figured that out from the comments after! I had no idea there was another version at all, that’s really interesting. Makes sense, though.

Noah Plate was my first thought as well.
