So, the page for this part has two colors listed... and they're both black. What causes that?
^ They have different part IDs but they both hold up well.
Really rolls off the tongue. I propose we start calling it the Spinning Quad-Claw instead.
Looks a little handsy, to me.
Looks almost more crab-like than the actual crab piece
Kinda' wonderin': why doesn't TLG make one of these w/the 'hands' turned 90 degrees, parallel with the center...?
Does it exist it the form of a 1x1 brick instead of a technic connector?

Thought I’d seen every non-Bionicles part in existence….. this one is new to me!
Could make an interesting space droid or hand parts for a space moc.
The first time I came across this piece was yesterday in the Bricklink Studgate set. Seems incredibly useful.
@brick_r:
They’ve barely used this version in the 13 years since it was introduced. They aren’t just going to make a vertical counterpart for the sake of filling in a gap in the system, and given what it was designed to do, I don’t see a vertical version being likely anytime soon.
@lemish34:
It’s real easy to spot in 30082, holding four katanas. I have no idea where it’s used in 10222. But it was created for 7596, where it’s used as the hub for the trash claw. The four petals of the claw lock together on the sides, so that all four petals will open or close as one, and the four clips on this act as the fulcrums for the petals. The petal element was actually RPotD a while back:

See, the inventory of this piece would lead you to believe that, but I was certain it was used in 41552 (which I remembered because Mixels were my whole Lego deal when they came out), and it turns out that even though it's the exact same design, this piece and https://brickset.com/parts/design-15646 are called differently, and it's come in another 20 other sets at least.
Edit: And thanks to person below me I can tell you that there's yet another version of this piece: https://brickset.com/parts/design-49756
One of the versions of this was used in 21326 to make the tree top have different angles. I though that was a great use of the part
@Randomness: Ah, Mixels...people can go on-and-on about "bring back Bionicles", but Mixels had soooooo many good parts. Definitely wish they'd bring that line back...
