Random minifig of the day: twt003
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random minifigure is twt003 Biggie & Mr. Dinkles, a Trolls World Tour figure that came in one set, 41252 Poppy's Air Balloon Adventure, released during 2020.
Our members collectively own a total of 1,455 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $7.10.

I had no idea mr dinkles actually existed in lego form!
Did you know that they're making a *third* Trolls movie? The second one didn't even perform that well, but a third one? The ending of the first one wrapped things up anyway, so it's not like people are asking for more, right?
Mr. Dinkles should be his own character.
Disappointed this isn't more widely used for other characters if similar build.
Huwbot trolled us.
Comes with a balloon... and is shaped like one. He's consistent, I'll give him that.
Looks like a weird knockoff of Mr. Popo.
The hair pieces from trolls are great for coral.
If that was regular minifig colour and face, but with the same shaped body, it would be terrifying in a city layout...
@shedjed:
Disappointed these movies yielded not one single troll doll that would be appropriate for the passengers on 7597.
Wow. Just, … wow. If I was a kid, this would have been my favourite thing.
What is this horrific abomination.

That makes one thing they're great for?

The whole gimmick of you can put like an egg in them or a friends pinhole item sure was pretty lackluster.

Whatever it is, I need to find my eye bleach with this one. I also need to clean my brain of the associated think-stains because Mr. Dinkles is the stuff of nightmares.
Thought the title said twit 003.
And then I saw the figure.
Rather overconfident to have two leading zeroes (I know, I know, BL remade their numbering system).
I keep forgetting this line existed, and I look forward to forgetting again...

art thou angry, brother?
Two points of trivia:
1. The arm elements are reused from Hagrid! They’re the only two figures to use this element since it’s introduction.
2. This is the second most expensive figure from the Trolls lineup! Probably because it’s technically two figures but there’s no separate listing for Mr. Dinkles. The most expensive figure according to BrickLink is “Cloud Guy with sticker” which edges biggie by a dollar.
That minifig head on his back is fire! I want that!
Hey, two for one, that's neat. Just wish Mr. Dinkles' face wasn't quite as nightmare fuel as it is
While I fully agree that a Lego-version of the Notorious B.I.G. should be a big-fig, I just don't think that this was a particularly succesful attempt.
I never thought I’d be in such an exclusive club as an owner of this.
Trolls World Tour was an awesome theme, said no one ever.
The real trolls always unnerved me. But, seeing this in my feed freaks me the hell out!!

I sort of do that with a hagrid body and a scary mini fig head. There is a really shady part in my lego city!

Well, I like it very much. It is psycadelic and strange in a good way.
@PurpleDave: seconded.
@JayCal: I only bought one T:WT set, 30555, just to get my hands on one of the figures, and for the purple treasure chest. (The musical notation pieces are also pretty cool, and hey it's a polybag, so I didn't have to spend much to get it.)
I really needed to get more Trolls sets.
Never even seen the films but it's the sort of colourful nonsense I love.
May have to venture to eBay and see what's on there....(also regret not getting Angry Birds sets).

MasterBlaster - Candyland Edition?
Seems like a suitable time to own up to owning a Trolls set... I also own 30555
There I said it. Phew, weight lifted!
I'll say one thing about the Trolls theme. For a monofig collector like myself it provided some very useful pieces.
@AustinPowers:
Well, as long as they were dismembered, I guess it’s alright…

Same. I love colorfulness too. Vidiyo was a big hit for me.

@Huw does all info come from bricklink? I was sure I'd got the Cloud guy and he does appear in 41256. As do the little clouds. They are not minifigs I suppose?
Cleanse it with fire.

Nuke it from orbit, just to be sure.

I got that one also! Polybags are a great way to get a taste of themes you would never really buy.

I thoroughly enjoyed most of the wild and crazy Vidiyo-designs. I went so far as to buy boxes for both waves, and a few characters from boxed sets, to fortify my B-horror monsters. Some designs really weren't for me, and that is fine. As far as I'm concerned Vidiyo was just another cool CMF, with another app for me to ignore.
Love this figure, and yes I went out of my way to collect the Trolls minifigs on a whim. One day at least one of my daughters will appreciate this.
@Ridgeheart:
I got, ummm…two of the blue shark, and one of the zombie drummer (to add to my hunger of zombies), I think two of the Pirate stage (for the black sharks), one of the ice cream stage (because it has a blueberry bear), and a handful of the dragon beat boxes. I think that’s it…maybe? Other than the single-packed figs, though, that was all pretty much on 50-75% off clearance. And of course LEGO Brand Retail was still trying to move them at MSRP when I stopped buying.

There was a nice selection of B-horror stuff in there. An amazing banshee, two vampires, a werewolf, the zombie you mentioned, and I will happily lump the slime-monster in there as well - my little haunted house now drastically requires expansion, as a result. Throw in the skeletal Mariachi, La Catarina, the previous rocker-monsters, and you can start a massive benefit concert for the supernaturally inclined. "Dead Aid", maybe.
Apparently the red dragon was also considered to be "horror metal", but ehhh. He really feels out of place.
Is there some sort of controversy in the comments? Never seen one of these reach 42 comments…
it would be best to forget that lego ever made trolls sets.
@Ridgeheart:
Well, I got the zombie to add to my hunger of zombies, which is currently around 80, I think (still need a Minecraft Chicken Jockey). I turned one of each shark into a surfer. Blue-Beary is standing atop my fridge (blueberries were kind of a big deal where I grew up. I debated getting the banshee to add to the pile of ghosts I keep for the Ghostbusters to bust, but don't think I ever picked one up. I have a few of the red CMF dragon, and a lot of the green one, so I picked up the red dragons for just the heads and wings. I kinda wanted to buy the slime creature, but I don't see anything else that really piqued my interest.

Well, there's that...thing, up there. But March Harriet holds the record for RMotD, at 59 comments. This is the second to break 40, though.

I do so love my pulp, so the Vidiyo-monsters have joined every Monster Fighters-baddie and every CMF-horror-monster in 10228 and some adjacent sets. It's getting awfully cramped in there, but it just gives me so much joy to look at the diorama.
I have no idea what to do with the other Vidiyo-minifigs. Some of them are amazing, some of them bring me joy simply by existing. Others are never to see the light of day again, forever to be hidden in the Box of Shame.
bookmum: I wanted to get some of the Angry Birds sets too. I wanted a bird figure and a pig figure. I also wanted some eggs, as they were new at the time, but those are easy to come by, now.
@xeleng: "Who rules Candyland?"
@PurpleDave: Out of curiosity, did you get 21157? It's not a minifig, but it's still a zombie...
@TheOtherMike said:
" @xeleng : "Who rules Candyland?""
Why, everyone knows that one: It's an unholy alliance between the Candy Corn Mafia and The White Chocolatiers, with King Candy as a figurehead puppet. Everyone else has tried to stop the madness, but few remain to tell those tales. Just ask the Kit Kats.... those Mafia brutes broke them all in half! The Twix Twins were even made to hate each other by the sinister plotting of the White Chocolatiers! Can nothing stop these dastardly candies from hell?
@Huw This one didn't roll over to a new figure. Not sure what happened....
@TheOtherMike:
No, nor the Brickheadz Minecraft Zombie. I put these on club displays, occasionally, so being minifig-scale is kind of essential. But they include a very eclectic mix of characters. In addition to a base created with various CMF zombies, the CMF Frankenstein's Monster (sans the Frank cap), and a few of the Scooby-Doo zombies, I've got all the zombie pirates (PotC and non-PotC), the zombie shark, a zombie Geonosian, zombie Captain America, almost all of the minifig Minecraft zombies (still missing the Chicken Jockey, but that should be it), plus I've made a pair of zombie clowns, a zombie Amy Farrah Fowler (because prior to Covid the actress was remarkably anti-vax, so I figured she'd be one of the first to be infected), a Zom-Bee, and a few other random figbash zombies.
BTW, you wrote @xeleng instead of @axeleng, so no notification will have been sent.
@Murdoch17:
Technically, it's two characters, so maybe today we're supposed to talk about the lump on his back?
@Murdoch17: Yeah, next being saying 'the bodies are in the Molasses Swamp'; which is...I better be careful, I might know to much...:D
As to 'the fig'...never watched a single 'Trolls' thing, outside of trailers (and that one before "Super Mario Brother"...WOOOW, that could've blinded a Smurf), but credit where it's due: companies like Illumination, Dreamworks, Warner Brother, and a few others are doing 'the job' that neither Disney nor its sub-contractor Pixar are: making good feature animation. I mean, the last Pixar I saw was "Onward", which I didn't hate. But when I saw ads for "Lightyear"...and then "Strange Worlds"...yesh...

Right, well - yesterday's featured character was 'Biggie', making him either the Notorious B.I.G. or possibly Executioner Smough. The smaller one is then obviously either Tupac Shakur, or Dragonslayer Ornstein.
Either way, you'd best make damned sure you've completely defeated one before moving on to the other.

Soul was good. Strange World wasn't Pixar. Turning Red was good. Lightyear was such a disappointment --- but at least we got a fantastic Lego spaceship out of it! Seriously, the XL-15 is so great. I've seen pictures of it in so many color schemes - CS'79, Blacktron 1, Blacktron 2, Space Police 1, Space Police 2, M-Tron, Ice Planet 2002, Rebel Alliance ... Such an adaptable design. Nearly perfect. The movie was terrible but it was all worth it for the Lego set.
I dunno how many people would say that of Trolls World Tour, that the movie was terrible but it was all worth it for the nearly perfect Lego set. We should take a poll!
@PurpleDave: Thank you for the correction, guess I didn't select the whole name before the copy-paste.
@iwybs: Lightyear also gave us 76831, which is pretty darn cool, even if it didn't open up to reveal an Old Buzz inside. (Although I perfectly understand why they didn't do that, as it would have been a major spoiler for those who hadn't seen the movie.) On the subject of the XL-15, I love that Angus MacLane made its canopy turn yellow in one scene because he's an AFOL and wanted the Lego set to have a new yellow canopy for Classic Space fans. And it's already been used in an homage set, 40580! (Granted, that was a Blacktron homage, not a Classic Space homage, but it's still a decades old Space theme.)
Oh are we still going with this one? Is it because it’s two figs, it counts as yesterday and today?

Yes, I've noticed some person named Murdoch17 making a pretty cool MOC of that on another forum: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/193276-blacktron-buzzard-xl-15-spaceship-mod/
I'm not saying it's Brickset's @Murdoch17, but the fact remains that we've never seen them in the same room, together. Well done on the MOC, either way.
