Such a good piece. All thanks to the Lightsaber!
Almost two million lightsabers? Wow!
I mean, to be fair, this is like the no-dachi of lightsaber blades. 3L looks much better as a lightsaber.
*fwoomfwoom*
*waaaaaaaaaaaaaw*
*shwiiip*
And that is my best approximation of lightsaber noises through text.
The bubbless variety it seems. That felt like such a remarkable improvement (or at least change) when it first rolled out as I recall.
@The_Sly_Fox: Well, despite its name, this piece has found plenty of non-lightsaber uses. But yes, that's still a lot of lightsabers we own.
Oh no, the jazz quartet came tooled up...
Ah yes, the infamous Light Sword from the beloved Space Conflict series. "A Renewed Optimism" remains a legendary staple of cinema to this day, but let us not forget the beloved "The Regime Enacts Retaliation" and the climactic "Comeback Of The Spaceknights."
To this day I don't quite understand the hatred towards "The Ghostly Danger," "War Of The Copies," and "The Vengeance Of The Evil Spaceknights," but hey, whatever, it was a different time.
I think we can all agree though that "The Mass And Acceleration Resume." "The Final Spaceknight Guy," and "The Arrival Of A Posthumous Spaceknight" are all garbage. But hey, I've heard good things about "The Helmetman" and "Rebelguy" so who knows what the future holds?

Don't forget. There's also:
"Aaaaaaaaah, (my hand, you cut off my @$% hand!)."

Apparently when they were filming the prequels the Lucas had to interrupt a lot shoots because the actors would just instinctually do the lightsaber noises without realizing it.
@GSR_MataNui:
That was Ewan McGregor. The OT didn’t have that problem. Sir Alec Guinness wasn’t that enthralled by the scripts, but even if he was, all three people who wielded lightsabers throughout the OT (excluding Han’s turkey-carving) got their hands on one during the first film shoot when nobody even knew what they were going to sound like. McGregor, on the other hand, grew up on the films, and got a little too excited about playing a Jedi. I haven’t heard of anyone else who got called out for adding their own sound effects.
I see your Schwartz is as big as mine!

I thought it was McGregor but didn't want to say anything I wasn't 100% confident about
I own at least one loose.

Yeah, "Rebelguy" is one of the best. It'll be interesting to see all the background leading up to "First Scoundrel."

I too thought "Rebelguy" was great, and am thoroughly exited for it's second season. That excitement is surpassed though by the upcoming movies "Origin of the Spaceknights" and "Successor to the Regime". Who knows if those will end up happening though, they could fare the same fate as "Scoundrel Division".
In case you don't know what those projects are, you obviously weren't paying attention to Space Conflict Commemoration the weekend before last.
@PurpleDave: I think I've heard that Liam Neeson got up to it, too. And apparently, if you look close enough, you can see Laura Dern mouthing blaster sounds in The Last Jedi. (Although I understand if you don't want to look too closely at that movie.)
@GBP_Chris: I actually enjoyed "The Mass Times Acceleration Resume," but didn't much care for the next two. And I did enjoy "First Scoundrel," even if the ending was sad, and "Alone."
Just don't drop it straight-down...it'll keep boring, and boring (and don't believe 'them', a Lightsabre continues to cut through MOST materials until its energy supply runs out; if you tried to use it to stop yourself falling down a cliff-face ala Errol Flynn...you'd 'bottom out' :D)
Curious what the heavy version would look like
So uncivilized.

Always wanted to make a minfig "Light Lance" out of those things:)

I'm sorry, but when you say "Rebelguy", what show are you referring to? I got all the others but for this one I think you might be meaning Andor but I'm not too sure.
Also, be sure to check out "the not-so-good group" and "the copies conflict", as well as "the novel of bounty hunter" and "Rebelguys" in preperation for "Spaceknight girl".

Hmm, long but I’m not sure heavy

I'm sorry. Existentially speaking, there's really no doubt as to whom is the greatest Jedi. Behold, partake, and enjoy!!

I'd also check out "The Inferior Collection", I've been enjoying it hugely
It seems like everyone has (quite rightly) forgotten “Unaccompanied” existed.

I think most minifigure swords (excluding the classic castle and pirate swords from the 1970s/80s as examples) are slightly oversized but I quite like the giant proportions for the most part, slightly goofy and fun to play with.
Though it doesn't do much to decrease the length of the weapon overall, I am a fan of using the 3L alonside the 66909 extended hilt for a double-bladed lightsaber that looks slightly closer to the movie versions. I think a double 3L works well for the Inquisitor hilt too.
Just a shame we haven't got it in more colours - would love a trans-medium blue 3L for Ahsoka's shoto!
The result of a bleeding kyber crystal.
@TheOtherMike:
I searched, and can’t find a single reference to Neeson “vrowrming”, so if he did, he must not have done it much. McGregor, on the other hand _still_ can’t resist, so they reportedly piped John Williams’ score onto the set of his series so he could listen to that instead of adding sound effects.
Hayden Christiansen might be who you’re thinking of. I did find a mention that he was doing it for Ep2 and Ep3. Depending on when we first heard about it, hearing that “the two main Jedi” were basically shooting backyard YouTube videos has very different meaning.

Sometimes, quite literally. There was a wristwatch, or a book, or something, where Jedi Anakin is packaged with a lightsaber blade (but no hilt) grilled firmly in one hand. No wonder the guy ended up mostly nuts and bolts…

Closest thing to a decent film that Disney’s managed to fumble out the door so far. At least I have to assume it got released accidentally.
@Timbus:
Regular lightsaber hilt + telescope in the same color, + 2x 3L lightsaber blades. Looks awesome, and a minifig can wield it two-handed. Also, they did make a trans-light-blue 3L. It’s the energy ray from the S1 Spaceman’s gun, and was repeated for the pink CMF Spacewoman.
I just came back to say that I am proud of all of you and all the work we've done with this one piece.
@PurpleDave: Actually; I still have (somewhere) my original Luke and Vader, with "Slide-Sabers"...no "hilts" per say, as it was probably insanely costly to 'paint' the handle on each figure...but still: technically, just 'holding' the blade.:)
@brick_r:
Nah, they still have lightsaber hilts. They’re just the dollar store kind, made of a very short section of PVC pipe.
@ozbrickcreator yeah, pretty sure they mean Andor.
Love the alternative name game, but how about something directly tied in to lightsabers?
Episode 4: Red blade, blue blade
Episode 5: Luke’s gonna need a new blade
Episode 6: Wait, they can be green?
Episode 1: Wait, they can be double-sided?
Episode 2: Making Samuel L. Jackson feel special.
Episode 3: I think enough hands have been removed this year.
Episode 7: If only that lightsaber showing up again were the dumbest thing to happen this trilogy.
Episode 8: Luke, you do remember your saber was green, right?
Episode 9: Oh look, live action yellow!
Rogue One: Why you should be afraid of Vader.
Solo: Ha, thought we wouldn’t find a way to get a lightsaber into this one, didn’t you?
