By in United Kingdom,

That's one mean looking Friend. Rumour has it that she's responsible for Autumn missing half an arm.

I didn't know this was a character.
I didn't know this was a set.
I didn't know this was a theme.

The more you know...
*pretend this is a shooting star*

This is our fourth mini or micro doll in the first 31 days. Pretty good odds.

@Randomness:
I was fully aware this was a theme.
I had been aware this was a set, but I'd managed to forget.
I had never paid close enough attention to the former to ever know what this minidoll looked like.

So she’s a dominatrix? LEGO won’t do religion, military, etc. but they’ll do a dominatrix?

@Librarian1976:
She...is one of Jack Kirby's New Gods characters. And this costume is incredibly toned down compared to what's shown on Wikipedia, which looks like an outfit Madonna would have worn in the 80's.

@Librarian1976: Consider that the very first minifig selected for RMotD was basically a Playboy bunny.

Ah yes, Lashina; member of Darkseid's Female Furies, of which so was Mr. Miracle's future wife Big Barda...really, Really, REALLY wish TLG would do MORE with DC; sooooooooooo many characters...

Funny fact: this character (NOT in this style though) showed up in an episode of "Batman: The Brave and The Bold"...episode ended with her riding off in to "the sunset" with Jonah Hex...or was that just Hex, as he just got 'popped' into the future...?:)

Yeah, I don’t think TLG would go for the comic book costume that’s posted on her Wikipedia page.

@PurpleDave: Well...maybe not, but as mentioned: animation, a 'classic' comic look, and other interpretations...plus, I'm referring to the 'general state' of things, I mean: Spin Master toys and McFarlane toys have noooooo problem making DC stuff, heck Todd himself has done above-and-beyond creating semi-'retro' lines based on '66 Batman, a psudo-"Super Powers" line, and a mainline that's done: Black Adam, Peacemaker, and others TLG won't touch...meanwhile: Deadpool's been in a set, as has Punisher and Blade...none of those characters are very 'kid friendly' (though, in fairness; they have appeared in animated 'kids' cartoons)...I just feel like somewhere there's a 'scale' with a 'thumb' on it...a white-gloved thumb...

I don't know why the idea of integrating regular Friends minidolls and licensed minidolls into the same world amuses me so much--I do the same thing with minifigs all the time. Maybe it's because my default is to imagine the pastels and happiness of Friends-world as the setting and dolls like Lashina as frustrated fish-out-of-water.

EDIT: Also, I just noticed we're on a four-day streak of female mini(fig/doll)s. I don't know what our overall numbers have been since RFOTD started, but it's a probably a good indicator that LEGO's gender parity goals have had some traction in the past 13 years.

She’s from the DC Super Heroes Girl Theme. I am also confused because technically she and all other Lego Friends are minidolls not minifigures.

I'll wait for the day https://brickset.com/minifigs/tlm178/banarnar gets picked as Minifigure

Or perhaps one of the dozens of Unikitty will have more chance to appear.

Speaking of Unikittys, that collectible series was a one and done wasn’t it? Even though they ambitiously marketed it at Series 1 on the packaging implying future lines (that were never realised).

I wish more of the world would choose dominatrices over religion.

@brick_r:
You can also blame the MCU fanboys who would immediately start saying bad things about any DC movie as soon as it was announced, or the WB execs who meddled with Justice League and made the theatrical release a stinker. DC has a spotty record right now. A new generation has spent the last decade having Marvel characters shoveled down their throats. DC hasn't had the visible promise of a unifying story element like Thanos (I mean, it was there, but most people didn't notice). As with MCU movies going forward, with no guarantee that any given film will be successful, we might not see many DC films getting extensive set releases until they get back on solid ground.

@Formendacil:
I don't think there was really any internal push for gender parity 13 years ago. Yes, they were trying to crack the girl's market, but they'd been trying to do that since the dawn of the minifig. They were never really trying to make anything minifig-scale that appealed to both genders. The first two waves of CMFs only had two females, for a gender ratio of 7:1. It's taken around a decade to finally see a CMF wave that had a 1:1 parity, and not every wave since then has managed to repeat that. Meanwhile, any minidoll theme is still heavily weighted towards female characters. While it's true they've added male primary characters to the Friends theme for the first time, they're still in the minority. Females are still in the minority for minifig-based genre themes (it's hard to do anything about this with licensed themes where the disparity is part of the IP).

@LukeSkywalker:
Well, the Unikitty blind bags were based on the TV series. That's done, so the theme is kinda dead without it.

Bricklink defines them as minifigures and brickset imports minifig data from there. So one day we might get a wardrobe, teapot, cup or car in RMOTD.

She should have called herself 'iron moustache'.
No idea what vibe that name would make one think of, but it sure would be an accurate descriptor...
